You can say what you want about not being convicted of sin. IMO, a person who is not convicted by the Holy Spirit that he/she has sinned, is not very close to walking in the Spirit of God. I call the Holy Spirit the "Hound of Heaven" He will let you know that you have grieved Him and disappointed our Savior. Lets not let the devil take away an important ministry of the Holy Spirit.

The point at which a believer isn't convicted of their sin, is a point at which they are dangerously close to being an unbeliever.

I always thought it was the Holy Spirit, but I guess it could be the conscience. Then again didn't God give us our conscience? The main point being that somehow God wants us to know that sin is bad.
God speaks to us through our conscience. But so do a lot of other voices. It's just that God's voice carries with it the power of faith--the ability to know that what you're hearing is the truth.

Paul warns that to not heed the voice of God will eventually result in a seared conscience. That indicates clearly to me how the conscience is the vehicle through which he speaks to man.

So what about before we become Christians, God created us with the ability to know right from wrong...right? Is that where the conscience comes in? I'm just trying to understand.
Romans 2:15 NASB talks about God revealing himself through conscience to those who don't have a conscious knowledge of God by the law. So we know everybody, saved and unsaved alike, has a God given conscience that he speaks through.
