Chopper, The Lord has blotted out your sins so he doesn't have to look at your sin. He has done this for His own sake. He has done this so that He may see you, instead of your sin.

I have been crucified with Christ... On the cross, the body dies. The body includes the brain and its mind where all our fears come from. While the mind is active, all those fears about dying, because of our ego, will want to present themselves to consciousness in the hope for something to change it (like compromise one's faith) so get some respite from dying. Jesus Christ had to ignore himself (humanity) to not compromise the Truth. He knew the Truth that though he had a body, he was not the body. He knew that the world can do whatever to his body but it will not effect who He really is. The cross was the final, in our face proof, that we are not the body, though we have one.

The cross was the final act which sealed Jesus Christ as the Embodiment of Faith. Right from the beginning Jesus knew the day of the cross will happen and even helped that day to come along. Jesus knew that the cross was the only thing that would crash through our denial of our Truth.

For us, it is about being willing to go to any lengths to know our truth (our cross). To even seek the truth and Truth while we may not want to. To lay ourselves bare (exposed and vulnerable) so all our fears: secrets, resentments, etc can no longer hide within us to escape the cross.

...and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,... Through our faith in what the cross means, we too become embodied in Faith, instead of fears. As long as we acknowledge Christ (Embodiment of Faith) within us, we can through His Faith overcome the fears that enslave us to the body (flesh, our old nature). And remain aware that though we have a body we are not the body. It is this awareness which reminds us that the Holy Spirit is accessible at all times. And while we access the Holy Spirit, the Spirit becomes us (we are in Spirit).

...who loved me and gave himself for me. Jesus Christ loves the Truth within us, regardless of how much of it has infiltrated into us. His sacrifice, on the cross, plus sending the Holy Spirit to the believers, is a means for us to have that Truth become us. This is the Fathers way of nudging us along without doing it all for us. Sacrificing His only Son was a way to be unconditional in nudging us along. For God only wants us to be Real, like Himself, by being unconditionally true and loving.

Chopper, I can tell that this isn't going to be easy, so we should probably be careful in how we respond, but I believe our conversation can be beneficial to others. I hope we both can exercise some patience. Lord knows I need to.





I highlighted those two comments that you made. If there seems to be quite a difference in the scriptures, it's because I am not trying to defend a Baptist doctrine. I don't know what the Baptist teach. I don't know what the Catholics teach. I am not learned in the scriptures, I've never been to seminary. So when you say it's because we are looking at two different events, we are not. We are both squarely looking at the Cross, but I have no doctrine to defend.

You have discussed in this thread dying with Christ. What does it mean to die unto Christ? Please don't take offense at this, but it also means dying to the doctrines and traditions of men.

In writing out my answer to your question, I came to the word "resurrection" and all of a sudden a light came on!! Resurrection, that changes what I've been thinking. I immediately thought of Colossians 3:1-

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

I believe now, since I'm risen with Christ, and seated, and since Christ is seated with God the Father, He can now see me risen in Christ.

For I am dead, and my life is hid with Christ. I am dead to the law, I am dead to sin. My flesh bears in me my death. When you look upon me, you see my sins, you see my death. But my life in Christ is hidden from YOU. You can not see the Kingdom of Heaven within me. You can not hear the Spirit of the Lord within me, because they they are hidden from you. When you look upon my flesh, you look for sin, and you behold my death. When a conversation get heated, and you can sense my attitude and point to pride, then my life in Christ is hidden from you, and you behold my death in sin.

Chopper, before I go any further, and touch on any other verses. Let us bring our attention right back squarely on the Cross.

What was the purpose of the Cross?

Was it to provide you a blood sacrifice for your sins so that you might continue to walk under the law?

Or was it to confirm and seal the new covenant? A covenant that was sworn and promised to Abraham.

The purpose of the cross was to set in motion a new Covenant in the shed blood of Christ Jesus which nullified the Law of Moses for being righteous under the Old Covenant.

The only sacrifice that God recognizes is the Blood shed on the altar of the cross of Jesus, God's only Son.

What about the 10 Commandments? They are not obsolete. They still work there intended effect in you. You are DEAD to them. That means you have concluded yourself to be GUILTY before all the law.

What shall I say to the first commandment? For I have worshiped idols. I have graven images in my house. A carved Buffalo, and ceramic Eagle. How many people carry a crucifix with them? Or have a picture of Jesus hanging from a wall? I have been angry with my brother, I have committed murder in my heart. I am a thief, I am an adulterer. The law is indented to work its death in me. Once you have accepted the knowledge of your death under the law, then the Cross is there to set you free.

Isaiah 44:9-17

Now we can take it a step further, beyond just the acceptance of our death before the law. As we come to understand and accept our position of guilt under the law, we are still carrying our own crosses. We have not crucified ourselves yet, but we are resigned for that to come. Like Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, as the heaviness bore upon him, awaiting his own death.

But if we are crucified with Christ, then we are dead with Christ, we are dead to the law, we are dead to sin. Now that we are DEAD to the LAW, the Father has blotted out our sins in Christ, so that we might return unto Him; Christ being made sin for us.

Now how do we crucify ourselves with Christ? As Christ took unto Himself the sins of the world, so must you too. As Jesus said, Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. You too must crucify the sins of others to yourself, and forgive them.

For if you are dead to the law and dead to sin in Christ, then you must remain dead to the sins in others, or else you are not truly dead to sin, nor are you dead to the law.


Be ye perfect, as your Father in Heaven is Perfect. As your Heavenly Father has blotted out your sins in death, for His own sake; so that He does not see your sins when He looks upon you, then you must learn to look upon others in the same way. To crucify their sins to yourself, so that when you see them, forgiveness is already upon your heart. If your Heavenly Father does not look upon their sins, then neither should you.


Judge not, lest you be judged; for the manner in which thou judge another, so too shall you be judged.

Forgive one another, as I have forgiven you. His expression of forgiveness to a carnal world, was a carnal death upon the Cross.

We will now turn from the death of Christ on the cross and it's focus on the death of our old man and his nature as we see in the Apostle Paul's lament in Romans chapter seven. Now we will focus on the LIFE that that is promised in....Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

I would like to focus on these words of promise from God's Own Words...."Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God."

First is this amazing statement, "Christ liveth in me." Now in order for Jesus, the Son of the holy God to do this, the first part of the verse had to happen "I am crucified with Christ.".... This makes me a new creature, with my own temperament and personality, and with a new source for my life, a new fountain for my being, out of which flows the life of Christ, and then others see—not me, but Christ living in me. O Lord, let that be for all of us.

The second part is the source of our faith. Please notice this...."the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God." .... The KJV has the correct interpretation of this verse, notice the THE FAITH. Our new life now is by the faith of Jesus Christ Who lives in us. True faith comes from Jesus, not us. Our mustard faith accomplishes little, Christ's faith moves mountains and heals the sick.

1 John 5:11-12,

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Now we have dealt with the death side of the cross, we must see the life God has provided for all peoples, by the death of Jesus on the cross.
The bible says 'life is in the Son. Outside of Christ there is no life, what kind of life is Christ. First He is the only life of the believer, but He is spiritual life.
That means all of life (to the born again believer) is to be lived from the one life, Christ.
Example; your home life is to be the Christ life, your work life is to be the Christ life, your church life is to be the Christ life, Philippians 1:21,
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
You cannot separate yourself from the only life you have, the only separation you can experience is in mind, Romans 8:38-39,
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The life we are looking for is in Christ.
Multitudes wonder how do I live a Christian life, the answer is, by the life that is in you.
When Christ has the mind to live His life in and through you, He will. The importance of mind renewal (to the Christ who is our life) at this point cannot be stressed enough.
Mind renewal is not memorizing scripture, or quoting verses, though that is necessary.
Mind renewal is when the HolySpirit begins to teach you Christ, the Christ in you.
Keep in mind 'life is in the Son, and that Son is the Son life-nature in you. There is no other life.
If we do not go to the scriptures and find out what happened to us the moment we believed, we will never see this life. The scriptures have to be searched for life. Religion proves this on a daily basis, never coming to truth, searching doctrine, searching to keep their agenda in place. Many born again God loving Christians, never see the life they have in Christ.
The life becomes a shared life, paul lived by the Christ in him, Gal. 2:20,
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Paul was alive by Christ in him.
It was Christ life, Christ fruit of the Spirit, we can only bare the fruit. It is the nature of God in Christ, in you as your only life. In that nature is life, fruit, health, wisdom, righteousness, knowledge, sanctification.
We become partakers of that life,
2 Peter 1:4,
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1 Peter 3:18-22
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

1 Peter 4:1-6
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Hebrews 9:9-10
Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

Hebrews 9:11-15
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
