Who hasn't? That's why I bought an answering machine. Now I've disconnected it and turned off the ringer on the phone.

lol I once got a call from a company trying to sell magazines. I told the guy, "Listen, I'm broke. I can't afford to buy a subscription." The guy said in a very unenthusiastic tone, "Yeah I hear ya. I'm broke too. That's why I have this job." :rolling

Most of the time! It's really annoying, they always call you at the worst possible times. That's why we registered on the 'do not call' list, but I'm guessing it's only reduced our marketing calls by about 50-60%.

ONe time this guy selling energy saving lightbulbs (of all things) called back four times in two days!

My husband is pretty brutal to telemarketers. What he does is show an interest in their product. He will ask all these detailed questions about it, and go into all this obscure stuff. Sometimes, he'll even ask for managers and talk with them about the widget or whatever. Then, when the poor guy on the other line thinks he's finally made some money, then my hubby will tell him "Not interested, take us off your call list." It's a big waste of the telemarketer's time.

Wish my hubby wouldn't do that, just some poor dude trying to make a living. Or it was Lewis. Boy, I'd hate to think that Steve ever did that to Lewis.

Me, I just ask "Is this a solicitation call?" and when they say yes, I ask them to take us off their call list.

If they call back after that, well then I get cranky.
