I tell ya, God is really "on the ball," as they say...
A week ago last friday, when I went out to my car to run to town, it wouldn't start. Wouldn't start saturday morning either. So I called my favorite car repair shop and had them tow it in so they could fix it.
Saturday afternoon I got an unexpected phone call. Someone from a Major University had seen some of the video editing work that I'd done for other people and asked if I would do a job for them. They are doing a research project with the FAA and need a video for their presentation at a world wide conference.
Figuring I was going to need a couple hundred bucks for car repairs, I told them I'd take the job. I was excited, a couple hundred to fix my car and the rest could be spent on "toys" I've been wanting but haven't been able to afford.
On monday I called the repair shop about my car. They hadn't been able to nail down exactly why my car wouldn't start. But they assured me they would continue working on it on tuesday.
Tuesday afternoon the repair shop called. They'd figured it out. Basically, something in the engine broke and it was completely shot. Plus, that particular engine has a reputation for being a pain in the neck and for dying earlier than it should. There aren't even used replacements available out there for a decent price. They did find a couple, but the prices were so high that it would be better to just buy a new/used car.
So, this last saturday the money for the editing job arrived in the mail. I'd found a 4-wheel drive SUV that will work out great in the area I live in, so with the money from the editing job and a couple hundred from my pocket, I bought the SUV.
I don't get to buy any of the "toys" I wanted to, but without God brining that phone call to me about the editing job I never would have been able to afford the vehicle I have now.
Some folks might call it coincidence, but I know better. God has done too many things in my life for me to think any different.
Thank you God. Once again You have shown me that you are a loving God and that you do care about even a lowly person like me.
