This section of the Forum is the most disappointing to me. God does so many things, and even incredible things, that I just can't understand how this part of the Christian forum isn't just packed with testimonies. I have thousands of wonderful testimonies about our Lord. So perhaps I need to share some of them.

Just a little back ground first. You can skip the next two paragraphs if you want. The point is that I am just an average guy. My parents took me to church, mostly Baptist, when I was a kid. They were pretty conservative, but when I wan about ten I felt a nice feeling in church, as opposed to the normal bored stiff feeling, and then the Pastor made an alter call. I went forward because of the wonderful peaceful feeling. But that was all I can tell you about an encounter with God until I was 40. I was out of the church problem (being bored stiff) before high school ended, and off to a very average life.

In school, I had a whopping 2.8 grade average. That is, I mostly got B's but more C's than A's. Still, I went to the local 4 years state college where again I produced that very same 2.8 grade average. It worked, and I got a degree in Business and a job in retail management. With all that I got a wife, a house, and a couple of kids. I worked a lot in retail. Between 50 and 70 hours a week, but I liked what I had. Still, that with the commute did not help my marriage. My wife was getting very upset and wanted a divorce. So back to the testimony.

I was sleeping downstairs because of the problems with my marriage. It was early one summer morning and as the sun started coming through the window behind me I suddenly was woken up. I sat up instantly trying to clear my head and wondering what we up. It was then a voice spoke saying "READ YOUR BIBLE"! Those words hit me hard! I mean it felt like someone had actually popped my hard in the side of the head.

My head was spinning. My arms and legs were shaking. And I was trying to calm myself down and see if I was ok. I looked over my arms and legs as the shaking went away. I looked to be ok. Then as I looked up I saw an extremely clear vision. It was of my Bible sitting behind my time clock.

So I looked over at my time clock, and sure enough my Bible was sitting behind my time clock. This was extremely weird, because I never read or looked at my Bible. It was something my mom had given me and it should have been buried in a box somewhere. There was no way it should have been there. Of course there was no way I should be hearing a voice saying "Read Your Bible" either. I was the only person in the room. So I told myself, 'Wow, that was God! I need to go tell someone'.

Then something else completely strange happen. I also had a thought that said, "What a nightmare, you need to go back to sleep,"

'Hold it! That wasn't a nightmare. I was awake when it happened. That had to be God.' I corrected myself.

"You need to go back to sleep", came back the other line of thinking.

"No, that was God and I should go tell someone. But it was early and nobody was up yet. I'd have to wait, but what was with this being double minded thing. I had never had that problem before?"

For me, that was the start but it turned out to be just the start. My life had changed. Instantly I had ears to hear. This was going to change everything, but I didn't know it then. It was going to change how my life was lived, but I didn't know it then. The One who told me "Read Your Bible" and myself were going to be friends, and He was going to be my Lord, but I didn't know it then. And those other thoughts, were the response of evil spirit surprised by the Lord instantly coming into my life. But I didn't know it then.

It was just the start, that hearing voices.

It is good to hear that God and His Word has changed your life.

I once heard Father God say, “the battle against good and evil has been here since the beginning of time.” God battles evil by salvaging souls through His Son, Jesus Christ. The Father’s voice sounds of greatness beyond this world. The sound of power wisps around His words as He speaks.

Nice :)

Yeah, hearing His voice changed my life, even a rather normal average life. From the wonderful saying that He says, like you posted to the instructions, encouragement, to the setting up of miracles and things, He is awesome, but really weird also. He just doesn't think like us, but so much greater than we can think, from the little seemingly unimportant things that wind up being more important than you could imagine, to the words that stop you in your tracks the instant you hear them. I wish people would just seek Him and what He has to say, not that He is the only spirit out there, and not that there won't be battles, but because everyone should be listening for His voice.

I've talked to God before but the voices that I hear pretty much constantly are demons and minions of Satan.

The first time God spoke to me He was so loud and overbearing that He blew my ear drums giving me maybe %50 hearing and I hit my head causing some kind of damage so part of my tongue is numb and now I can't speak right, kinda like a stroke.

That's interesting.

I can and do pick up demonic voices at times, and I know they try and attack me. Our battle is with powers and the dark forces of this world.

Still, I don't hear them much. Not because they are not around, but because it is to their advantage to not be noticed!! They hide!

The reason is that I tend to talk them captive to Jesus Christ if I figure out they are bothering me. I also have authority of them, according to the Bible and I can call of the KIng and His Kingdom as needed! Sometimes, if I pick up on them, I just call "Jesus" and I get help on the problem. And I can call on the Lord in a number of ways, and He is not slow to answer as we think!

I can simply ask the Lord how He thinks I should handle the problem, when I caught demons trying to mess with me. His answers vcary from Him saying "I'll handle it", to "do this or that." Sometimes He has said, "don't worry about them and just resist and the devil will flee." He can have numerous responses when I ask. Often I get the impression that the Lord just let it happen so I would remember to turn and start talking and listening to Him. That would be a good reason on His part to let demons bug us.

All that considered, the voice I normally hear is His. I often start up a conversation with the Lord the moment I wake up. That conversation can be anything from 'Good morning Lord" to 'Do I have to get up now, I'm sleepy"? And the day kind of follows that same pattern, if I let it. More times than not I get busy, or I can even not feel like talking to Him at times. Garion - You mentioned in another post that you sometime got a little upset because of things that happened in your life. Me too. And if I do, I might just stop talking to Him for a period. It is a stupid response on my part, but as a person I still sometimes do it.

Yet for all the reason above , I usually hear from the Lord, or perhaps some angels that serve Him that He sent to minister to me. Those demons now seem to usually hide and are difficult for me to pick up even if I am paying close attention. I have probably bound up so many and taken so many captive to Jesus Christ, and gotten good advice from the Lord about how to handle them so many times that they are a little concerned about dealing with me. Not because of me, but because of the Lord and my relationship with Him of course.

Because of that, my primary advice for people is to seek the Lord. The battle is still there but it at the very least seems a lot less when you turn to Him and His advice a lot more!

You are so right.

The demons that wake me up and stay with me all day go away when I start speaking Gods word...not Scripture but his advice in my understanding.

I'll play the role of a preacher but without the Scripture quotes and I'll do it when I am by myself.

The bible speaks about being "instructed in the night seasons" by your "reins".
This is explaining that there are times when there is no path that is easy to find that tells you what you need to do.
Perhaps you've had the experience of needing an answer, and cant get one- cant find one, and you've been suffering a while while you are trying to get the answer?
You are in one of those, "wait on the Lord" situations, and it is HURTING YOU.
Ever been there?
Have you ever cried out to God over an issue for a few years?
How about a decade or 2?
I would think that you have done one of those or more, if you've been saved a while.
And in that case, because you have spent time with the bible, prayer, and Jesus, then you have these already as a part of you so that they keep you on the path while waiting for the circumstance to be resolved that is making your life, or at one time made your life, miserable.
You might think of them, these "reins", as spiritual guardrails that keep you from falling into sin, or unbelief, or worse.

Yea it's my faith in God and my mother that I fall back on that keeps me grounded.

I've heard thousands of familiar spirits (the human dead in hell) over a period of fourteen years and only two of them have been demons. I have received guidance from above to close the door to these unhealthy spirits. They came into my life as a consequence of my sin. Now, I am going to have to separate from my wife because she keeps tempting me to do crystal methamphetamine, which is a drug that brings unhealthy spirits into a person's life. This needs to stop in order for these evil spirits to be out of my life. So, I am forced to leave my wife for Christ. I should have done it years ago.

Leviticus 19:31. Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them; I am the Lord your God.

Mediums and familiar spirits involve consulting the spirits of the dead. All contact with these or other spirits was strictly forbidden in Israel. It demonstrated lack of faith in and rebellion against God.

1 Peter 5:8-11. Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour. Resist him, steadfast, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings. The God of all grace who called you to His eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little. To him be dominion forever. Amen.
