hello gustokitty, dirtfarmer here

welcome to the forum.

When you state that you are a "lone ranger type Christian", are you referencing that because of some of you understanding of scripture is not according to "mainline doctrine"? Or is it because you are a recluse because people don't agree with your interpretation of scripture.

I have often stated that I am different from most believers in that I don't always agree with what they teach.
Example: In scripture I find two brides mentions.
1. Israel is Jehovah's bride. Isaiah 54:5, Jeremiah 31:32, Hosea 2:7, and Ezekiel 16:8. Then there is the "Church" which is the esposed to Jesus Christ and that wedding is future.
2. I adhere to the doctrine that if you are born of the Spirit into the body of Christ, then you are eternally secure. It is impossible to be "unborn" from the body of Christ.

It is o.k. to be different if it is based on what has been affirmed by the Spirit. The important doctrine is believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Most of all the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

Wow, I can be the tenth person to welcome you into our Family. I'm quite sure you'll like it here from reading your introduction. If I can be of any help to you, just shout, err type. :hug

Hi Dirtfarmer and Thk U for the welcome.
Actually I don't say it for either of those reasons. I just say it because I have been involved with churches far less than I have not. So I am not the Christian you see sitting in the pew every Sunday.
As far as being saved always saved, I do believe that. I have read some confusing verses lately that talk about walking away or rejecting once you've been saved, but I can't reference that off the top of my head. But I've always had comfort in the fact that Jesus/God woudn't let me drift away.
I like what you reference about Isreal being Jehovahs bride and I will have to read those scriptures. It makes sense, because I've always felt that with Jews, they are Gods chosen, so even though unless they are Jews for Jesus, they do not accept that Jesus is the Christ, they would be the exception to the "rule" that only through Jesus Christ to we access eternal life with Him.

Well, nice to meet you, and thanks for giving me something to think about.

Hi gustokitty,

I kind of understand what you mean by lone range christian. I suspect several people that come into forums like this are. It is a place for some *christian* fellowship.
Hope you get what you are seeking from this place. I mostly post in theology type stuff or a prayer request, so you probably wont get to know me.
Blessings.
