Hi everyone,

Just here to debate theology. I'm a Muslim who has recently been indulging in comparative religion videos on youtube. And so I thought I might give it a go. But don't worry. I'm not mean spirited and I don't attack people personally.

Hello kidcanman,

I'm very interested in your views of the Muslim faith as I only know a few Muslims. But being aquanted with a person who holds dearly to his Muslim faith for over ten years, I would wonder why you would come to a Christian forum. The reason I wonder is because we have different sources for the authority of truth. It would be difficult to debate theology from two religious points of view, kind of like comparing different fruits. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for discussion with others of different religions, but you do understand, Christians will always point to Jesus as the way of salvation, and frankly, that's not debatable. I'm sure you have convictions that are not debatable, like who is Allah and Mohammed. I hope the site will be edifying to you. Welcome again.

Welcome to CFnet. :wave

I truly hope you will respect what we're about here, consider the ToS, and avoid promoting the Muslim faith while you share your perspective with us. If this comes of as negative, it's not meant to be. We have had Muslim members who were appreciated, because they kept from going over the line. Others had to be ushered out. I joined a Muslim board about a year ago, and I don't believe I got out of line. I stayed for a while, and it was interesting. Actually, the vast majority of members were gracious and welcoming. When someone did go off on me, they were followed up with apologies to me and corrections to the others. There were only a few. If you take the same approach, I'm sure you'll find the same here. Unfortunately for you, we are not prevented from promoting Christianity while you have restrictions. That can be frustrating, but you know what you signed up for. :)

I can only speak for me when I say since 9/11, I've never been able to settle complete trust in Muslims. I work with a devout Muslim, and I have to say he's one of the most kind, gentle people I know. But the violence inflicted on my country and the world are not easily forgotten. On this board, you will find many posts by me that are conflicting, and that's because I AM conflicted.

We are both devoted to mutually exclusive faiths, so we will likely disagree, but this doesn't mean it has to be offensive on either side. :yes

Mike and Davies fear not, I'm a gentle type of person and I am very open to new ideas. I decided to join this forum on impulse, as I said, because of what I witnessed in watching religious debates online, and also because of the negative way in which the media has been portraying Islam. So to be up front, I'm hear to provide my understanding of Islam and the current events around the world. Most people would love to be able to persuade others to accept a certain outlook on life. And it would please me to persuade others to think like me in terms of my belief in Islam. But that is not what brought me here. And that's not my purpose. I'm here to dispel the rumors. And I have no problem with excepting the truth even if it goes against what I was taught to believe. I have no convictions that I deem not debatable. Absolutely none. So feel free to question anything I believe.

Jason any Muslim with the last name Cranman is forced by sharia law to change it, or die.

Actually Jason kidcanman is a username I made up in college. Only my closest friends and family are privy to the meaning.

Well since I don't live in Israel It's possible that I don't fall on the list of Muslims you hate.

Well Jason...your distant cousin Canman has come to your forum. Hopefully we don't end up fighting for the next decade.

Kidcanman,

GRACE and PEACE my brother and many blessings and greetings to you. :)!!May your faith become stronger and stronger guided by faith in the FATHER!!

MAY GOD's PEACE BE UPON EVERYONE!! To talk on the LORD is great. To talk on HIM.

Conversations are greatly encouraged here and everywhere. Talking more on HIM is better than talking on anything else.

Yet, all of us here " should " be talking on the WORD. Every religion has a book. When in talking to other religions its better to know their book. Knowing their book is better than knowing or hearing words from a debate watched on a media system that gives us an interpretation of a word in a book that has not been fully read. This can easily make a debate, argument, personal......babbling.
If we dont take this time in life to study these books as JESUS, the prophets, and disciples did ( in their time), then we should not discuss what we see others have read. If we just follow what we see and hear, then if it's false, then we also can spread the falsities. This is not what GOD wants. Everyone read before you discuss. This helps for clarity, validity, and love unto one another.

I say all this to everyone not just to the new member.

Again. Unless people want this kind of thing. I have said in my other replies that for some years now, GOD has been letting me notice alot about humans on these websites and just in everyday life.
Whether people come from the heart or not?? Only GOD truly knows. But what people entertain, as JESUS, YESHUA, or ISA labels as their fruit; is what we must all watch out for. Again this message is for everyone, not just our new friend here.
A message must always go forth in love. So, this message is sent in love, with a warning, and with all heart towards the FATHER.

LOVE TO ALL OF YOU IN THE HOLY PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS CHRIST with EYES ON THE FATHER ALWAYS,:)

jesus4life, I hear your admonition and I will adhere to it. Currently I am reading a bible that was given to me by an Evangelist, may Allah help the believers, and so far I have read Genesis, and some of Exodus (I am a long ways from the NT but god willing I will get there soon). I was raised in a Christian nation and I am relatively informed, so naturally I have a visceral familiarity with a host of Christian doctrines. But Christianity is not my main focus on this site.
Islam is. And having stated that, I think that your advice will apply more to everybody else and less to me. But I will take it to heart never the less. Thank you for your welcoming statements.

Kidcanman,

Grace and peace my brother. Great to hear from you, and keep studying in all you do.
I will say again, that reply was to everyone.
Only GOD can judge what someone truly knows or not. HE gives us different gifts/talents. People can read a book once and understand it and some have to read it 50 times. Some read a book all the time, and still dont understand it. Who knows. This is why communication is great. But, taking the time out to learn about each other in the subject matter of interest, makes the communication loving and respectful; as GOD would want it to be.

LOVE IN THE HOLY PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS CHRIST with PRAISE TO THE FATHER ALWAYS,

Hi Jesus4Life.

Peace be upon you.

I read your post this morning before it got deleted. You mentioned how I agreed that we should not debate ideas from sources that we have not thoroughly examined. You did not say thoroughly examined but this is the inference that is my current impression.

Incidentally I did engage in a debate about the storiesf Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I did read Genesis but, as evidenced by my mix up with Isaac and Abraham, apparently I did not exam the text thoroughly.

However Jesus4life I think that there can be an honest discussion about an issue that includes a personal examination of the sources, and yet does not require a thorough examination.

I think that that is what the fundamental idea is when it comes to interfaith dialogue; especially in a context that is as informal as an online forum. Where one group obviously knows more about their ideology and can be able to clarify it to the other side.

I think that one of the mistakes I may have made (and I'm sure I made a few), is that I disputed theLords interpretation of the Bible, even though I am not well versed in Biblical theology.

However, I honestly feel that my knowledge of the issue we debated, was sufficient enough for me to construct a legitimate opinion of the situation.

Of course the likelihood is that a Christian will have more knowledge on the subject. But if there is an honest back and forth, again I think that is the purpose of an interfaith dialogue.

And Allah knows best.

Kidcanman,

Grace and peace. Amen! GOD KNOWS BEST!! Very true.

I Leave you to what you feel and how serious you feel about it or not. My brother, take care of yourself.

Love always in and through HIM,

Jesus4life
