Hi Kidcanman,

Welcome. You referred as a Muslim. I have a habit of starting my welcome message as follows and hope it doesn't bore you.

You have revealed to this forum that your name to refer you as 'Kidcanman'. If you refer you as 'Hi John', you don't even read the message because it is not addressed to you. Similarly everything drills down to a basic question of which God are we both worshiping (because I am a Christian).

So, a Muslim who I know, took Bible and Quran side by side and said: Both say the God of Abraham is the One True God. So he said a simple prayer: The God of Abraham reveal me the truth so that I can follow the true God. Referring God as 'God of Abraham' is a direct hotline to God Himself because you call Him by His correct title just like me referring you as 'Hi Kidcanman' in this forum.

If you can pray to 'God of Abraham' instead of calling as 'allah', you just dialed the right number to Heaven and you will surely get an answer.

I know this is too much in a welcome forum but every muslim I encounter has trouble calling this correct number to Heaven inspite of them agreeing that calling God as 'God of Abraham' is not a sin according to Islam, but adding that 'God of Abraham' refers to Christian God and not an Islamic god.

May you find peace Felix.

I have asked "God" in general to reveal the truth to me. You say I should ask the God of Abraham.

I did not have a problem with that (and I probably have made similar supplications in the past) until you suggested it.

You see, if I would have thought about it on my own, then it would have been innocent on my part. I would have simply been asking the one true God,the "God of Abraham" to guide me.

But if I use the term now then I would implicitly be rejecting Allah; the God of Muhammad.

That is to say, you want me to put aside the term Allah, with the understanding that that is not the right way to address God.

If I decide to use a separate term simply because I know I can, then there is no problem. But if I "put aside" the term Allah, then I would be questioning or rejecting my faith to some degree. I have no reason to do that.

Thank you for your welcome Felix. And even though I will not use your advise. I appreciate the fact that you gave it to me.
