I'm bleak. Yes.
Long story very short.

Catholic downbringing, tortured by my family, "friends" and their families, Catholic priests, nuns, brothers (ie ordained), "teachers" etc since childhood. Result: renounced all Catholicism especially the Vatican and all the charlatans and homosexual pedophiles within it. Turned to alcohol and drugs. 50 years later...

Having come to the end of my rope with all my "alternative" religions, occult practices, philosophies, etc, I turned to Christ in a last ditch attempt to save me from my horrible living conditions (forced to live with grifters/thieves/liars of whom were extremely ignorant and dead and one slumlord house owner who put us all together and abnegated all responsibility). I began attending a local church and reading the Bible word for word starting with the NT for the first time. God lead me to an apartment of my own. I was baptized in that church in April for the second time I guess. I don't remember the first time and I don't believe in infant baptism.

I have views that most Christians don't. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (the One He called "Father" and NOT the Yaweh/Jehovah/Elohim of the Old Testament. That is a long long story and I don't want to go there right now cuz I'm tired of arguing). Anyway, I believe that Christ died for us so that we may have a path to eternal salvation. He rose from death and remained to teach further for a considerable period of time. I know this world and it's "works" are what He said they are: EVIL (John 7:7). So that should be enough. If you have a problem with my view of what God is or isn't, please keep it to yourself. My beliefs and actions as stated should be enough for anyone to call me a Christian.

I'm heading over to the Prayers section next and determined to ignore any political sections although my inclinations may get the better of me.

Oh, I'm reading The Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis. It is profoundly beautiful and hard. He wrote it as head master when he was put in charge of novices in his monestary. I'm about half way through.
