My friend is into the occult and she thinks going out of body will prove the bible wrong.Because she claims she has the power of divination out of body. What should i tell her? Also if i didn't put this in the right post i am sorry.:sad

.
Hi again Jesus Lover. We know the Bible is correct and it is not our words that will convince those such as your friend, but God Himself as it were that will move in mighty ways toward her through your prayers. I will say I have seen those that doubt convinced by the life they see in Christians as a testimony to them.

As far as debating an atheist I have yet to find that profitable; it seems to give them a platform to bring doubt to others.

Hi Jesus Lover, what exactly does your friend think she will be able to divine when out of her body? Why does she want to prove the Bible wrong? I am thinking she may feel very negative about Jesus and the Bible. I can understand that because that is how I was decades back. However, Jesus got through to me so I am sure he can get through to your friend. Just may not happen as soon as you would want.

As Eugene said and I agree, debating often does not work. However, sometimes books can be useful. There are Christians who have written great testimonies about being in the occult and then realising they were being deceived. Perhaps something like that may be useful (I do not know what is currently available). And quiet prayer is a basic but powerful thing you can do. Pray for deceptions to be removed. For any hurts that may have pushed your friend away from Christianity be healed. Ask God for his wisdom and his love for your friend.

And you can be a friend to your friend. You may like to point out that you do not agree with her about the occult but add that you still want to be her friend.

I don't know if satan is at work. But i got back to my friend yesterday and she says she doesn't believe all the stuff in the bible because her mom and dad were raised being into the occult. What do i do?

Hey Jesus lover, many of my friends over the years have not been Christian. Some of them became Christian, some did not. Before I had an experience of Jesus and was saved, I had one friend who was very strong into the occult. He gave me some books which influenced me. That made me hungry for the truth as I thought there must be some hidden secret to god, life and the cosmos. However, as I sought, I ended up experiencing this Power and it told me to believe in the Jesus of the Bible. Nothing to do with the occult. I was hoping for something a bit more exciting as I thought Jesus was myth. However, I started believing and sloowwly my life started turning around from miserable to better. Totally awesome! However, my friend in the occult stayed in it even though his life was not okay. Over the years we moved away from each other and I don't know what happened to him. I am telling you this so you know where I am coming from.

You are not responsible for what your friend believes. If you talk about God stuff and she rejects it, that is her decision, not yours. However, you are responsible for your own walk with God. It needs to be your walk, not simply following your parents. So be very careful about the occult influences from your friend and her parents. My friend who was in the occult, he was okay as a friend but would lie to me and when he wanted us to do stuff against the law, I would have nothing to do with it. Which meant our friendship got weaker over time as I would not compromise my integrity. Same with you. Be a friend but guard your faith and your integrity. Over the years, the best friends I have ever had have been Christians as we could talk about all sorts of things including some of the really weird stuff that can happen when you pray but you do not want to tell a non-believer as it sounds like crazy stuff.
