Pure honey is full of vitamins and goodness. It is from God for us and has many health benefits. But it can't be processed, heated, diluted or anything or it loses these properties. I have been trying to find a source for good real traw honey and found a place in ohio to order some from. I did, and then ran across a few videos about how to test your honey to see if it is pure like they say. So I tested this honey farm's honey...and it failed all the tests. So even though it was advertised as pure honey, it was not. I emailed them and told them this. She called me and said it is pure, my husband keeps bees and it is real. I said no offense, but maybe he is diluting it without your knowledge. Is it p[ossible I could pay more and get some undiluted from you so I can have some real pure honey? She got mad and refunded my money.,
I still have continued to search for raw honey from a local source. Whenever anyone mentions bee keeping or I see evidence of bee keeping, I jump right on it and talk about it and ask to buy some. One of bosses customers had bee keeping stuff out and honey sitting around, so I asked her if I could maybe buy some? She said no, not enough, but before I left she gave me a very small jar to have.
I tested her honey and it failed the tests also. She prolly wanted to be nice, but gave me some diluted stuff. Prolly cut with Molasses or corn syrup. Then I seen a big mason jar of honey on the desk at work. I knew what it was, so quipped, is that for me? I need some pure honey! My boss knows a bee keeper and gets it from him. I asked him if he could get me some to buy from them? He said he will see and let me know. A couple weeks ago there was a small mason jar with Ed written on top in the shop. He said no charge, he got that for me.
I finished off my imitation honey recently and finally cracked his honey open. I tested it this weekend. It is real thick. It did pass the tests, all of them. It's like I remember, when I was a kid, honey would not dissolve in drinks, it sat on the bottom and had to be stirred constantly, lol. It burns. it didn't turn iodine blue and so forth.
I read that bacteria can not live in the presence of honey. Honey also has no expiration dates or shelf life. If it is sealed and gets no moisture or air to it, it will stay good forever. They have found 3000 year old honey in tombs that was perfectly good. Wow.
Ok so here's my point and question. If bacteria can not live in the presence of honey...and earaches are infections caused by bacteria...could I put honey on a q tip and dab it in my ear for a earache remedy?
I have had an earache for a couple weeks now. It's not bad in the morning, but gets worse as the day progresses and is bad at night.
What say ye to this?
