Just shows ya how long it can take to navigate ya way round such a mega-big site!

So...

@ 80+ posts after my musician's curiosity couldn't resist a 1-2-3... 8-)

HI OUT THERE!!! :multi:

Just in case we've met... :o

or I sound kinda familiar to ya..

Tourists will enjoy seeing http://www.Liverpool08.com - our EU Capital of Culture site

& http://www.Hope08.com - hope-fully, eh? :infinity:

& http://www.merseyworld.com - both have many clicks/links to enjoy :tongue

I was lead guitarist in Wirral-based The Lifelines gospel band in '66 - (the year UK won the World Cup, for those puzzled by such pre-historic antiquity!)

We played the now-legendary Gospel Coffee Bar circuit, round NW England & N Wales - @ the time when The Crossbeats, from Liverpool, were widely acclaimed as the best gospel group on the planet ...

(Earth, for any aliens out there!)

For fans of the now-legendary Jesus Revolution of the early-mid '70s, my musical evangelistic time was with Barry Crompton's Wirral-based band, Harbinger - after whom he named his 1st solo album as a pro gospel singer - in the same 'stable' & timewarp as Adrian Snell (who was commissioned by BBC Radio 1 to write musicals for both Christmas & Easter, for their festive broadcasts) :-D

Being also the period when multi-media drama was new, I also acted (& sang) with Liverpool based Roundabout Releases
, at the time Parchment were resident band & wrote Festival of Light theme song, Light Up The Fire :tongue

As I may well move to Lovably Loony Liverpool soon, I hope to meet up again with guitarists Jon Pac & Keith Rycroft, who still fellowship in Anfield - (for the nostalgic out there!) :biggrin

Update done 2 days after I hit 1200 posts here on 11 Sept '05, having hit *1000 on 20 Aug

I hit *1500 on 15/10/05, btw

I moved to beautiful Bootle - L20 - mid November & for the 1st 15 months, went to the mega-lively Bootle Christian Centre, on the North Park roundabout, Stanley Road - see http://www.elim.org.uk/elim_members/art ... &ID=CHURCH for the other 13 (so far!) in Magically Mad Merseyside 8-)

As it got kinda full, I went for @ 6 months to the even livelier City Church, Jubilee Drive, Kensington, L6

But I knew @ the most lively & mega http://www.frontline.org.uk, adj Post Office Delivery Depot, Wellington Rd/Lawrence Rd corner, Wavertree, L15

& have been mega happy there since last Sept - in the same G12 cell group as 'Pastor MC Ken' of http://www.7waves.co.uk
2-6am Wed show

& http://www.FlameCCR.org.uk - where I did some jingles & Sunday eve shows, March-April '07

Just last Sunday - May '08 edit here - http://www.frontline.org.uk issued their latest live album, Harvest Time - premiered on award winning Wayne Clarke's 'Daybreak' - last Sun @ http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool

So still available for 4 hours on their 7 days playback facility

In '74/'75, I did Operation Mobilisation Year Programme, at their then-global HQ in Bromley, Kent, @ the time Dave Pope led the Time For Truth evangelistic campaign - I was the 1 who used a portable cassette as PA -sheltered from the rain under my coat - (making some street folk think my voice came from my stomach!) :-?

'77/'79, while completing theology & mission diplomas at Moorlands Bible College - having done 1st year at Emmanuel BC when it was in my native Balmy (or Barmy!) Birkenhead, in Wonderful Wacky Wirral) - my regular fieldwork was singing, playing & preaching with prison ministry New Forest-based band, The Beacons - (in case ex-Wandsworth * 20485097...Parkhurst * 2047503...Dartmoor * 0327493763 or Pentonville * 0284937 are out there!) :x

As for current/recent residents of UK's fine NW region, who frequent precincts & know me as TC - the Town Crier...

Altogether now...

123...

The Voice is back in town ...

The Voice is back in town
...

Or ..

The many tourists frequenting NW's many beauty spots & know me as the mobile DJ who harmonises along to worship tapes, plugging Christian events & http://www.ucb.co.uk - 549m MW - in the instrumentals & breaks between songs... :fadein:

This being now half-term break week, I may well take audio tapes of sample Christian TV shows around the NW precincts & beauty spots - from Sky freeview channels 760 to 771...

HI OUT THERE!!!! :bday:

Ian :-D

Welcome! It's nice to meet you, but I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as Timothy. I do hope that you enjoy it here!

Love in Christ,

CLY

THANKS 4 ALL THE WARM WELCOMES, GUYS!

I'd forgotten to say - in order to encourage others - that I musta been on 40+ times @ Roger Phillips' BBC Radio Merseyside lunchtime phone-in (@1983-'97) - http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool

If you feel the call to ring phone-in programmes, you nearly always have time, between your ringing in to say what you want to talk about, & them ringing you back to put you on, to make notes of what you want to say, so you don't 'dry up' - or omit anything important 8-)

To feel as relaxed as possible, just picture the face of your favourite person, as most listeners will be an audience of 1 - in the car - in the kitchen, etc :biggrin

Many telesales folk are encouraged to stand up & walk round, smile & use gestures, as again, you'll relax more -& feel more confident: it also puts more warmth into your voice

Warm up folks' winter - with "the sunshine of God's love" :multi:

Just time to explain that my stage name was given to be by a DJ, simply because I do so many voices

But I'm a lower case 'mr versatile'

Only the Almighty Creator 'does ALL things WELL & deserves the CAPS LOCK!! 8-)

God bless!

Ian :-D

You can hear me via 7-days archive facility @ http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool - I was in @ 1.35/1.40pm Fri, so you can hear me till next Fri lunchtime - or just read the material used @ http://www.creationevidence.org - linked from

HUMAN GENOME PROJECT: QUANTITATIVE DISPROOF OF EVOLUTION
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=28908

The punchline was that the Bible says we are far more valuable to God that any animal, or the birds of the air, or the lilies of the field, as Jesus put it, so do use the good weather this week to go to your nearest zoo & see solid evidence that God loves you, as so many hate themselves & feel unloved by anybody, yes?

& pray God sends forth more labourers to reap the endtime harvest of souls in pedestrian precincts & beauty spots - they say from mid August will be a heatwave

Tues is forecast as the best day of this week, so do pray more Christians feel the call to meet @ Gladstones, 11am & witness 12-2pm

How @ your area?

God bless!

Ian

Did you hear me on Howard's Review @ http://www.revelationTV.com @ 10.40 last night?

I'd been in the bath while a few folk called the Rapture 'false doctrine'

Then one of the co-hosts said that, though he believed in the Rapture, no-one had ever shown him any Scriptures to say why it would be pre-trib: before the Great Tribulation, the worst time on Earth comes

He asked if anyone could ring in with just one

I quoted 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11

The Coming of the Lord

13 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.

14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

15 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

18Therefore encourage each other with these words.

1 Thessalonians 5

1Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you,

2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

5You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

6So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.

7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

8 But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

& 1 Corinthians 15:51-58 & Matt 24:30-42

Also how the church is still on Earth in Revelation 2-3

Then Rev 4:1 says 'Come up'

& the Great Tribulation doesn't start till Rev 6

I said Revelation prophesied the classic escalation pattern

Rev 6:8 says

I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Then Rev 9:13-18 says

13 The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the horns[a] of the golden altar that is before God.

14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."

15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.

16The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.

17 The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur.

18 A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.

& total Armageddon isn't till Revelation 16

He asked @ the 'saints' later in Rev (than Rev 6) & I said that, after the Rapture, many folk will realise their werror & 144,000 Jewish evangelists will preach worldwide

He asked where it says that & replied Rev 14 but he'd craftily turned my volume off so that no anwer I tries after that was heard on TV

I did say how the Bible say "NOW is the acceptable time: behold, NOW is the Day of salvation"

It says, "TODAY, if you hear God's voice - (as God's Word is faithfully preached) - don't harden your heart"

It says, "How can we escape if we neglect such great salvation?"

What they cut off was that Jesus said that this 'fig tree' generation will be 'cut short' by the Rapture - 'otherwise no flesh would be left alive' - Matt 24

As I've often preached in NW & N Wales precincts, the 'birthpains' intensify & accelerate to bring on that Great Delivery

That's why Jesus, when He prophesied such awful signs to show His return was approaching & 'even at the door', could say, "Don't be afraid...don't be alarmed...trust in God...trust in Me"

Don't call what God's Word clearly teaches 'false doctrine' - that is calling God a liar

Like the folk who say there will be no Millenium rule of Christ when Zechariah 14, Isaiah 65-66 & Revalation 20 clearly promise that He will rule Earth from Jerusalem, with a rod of iron, & bring perfect peace & justice

See http://www.BibleGateway.org

Must go!

Ian
