Probably the same way Noah knew to build the boat and Jonah knew he had to go to Nineveh even though he didn't want to, etc etc. God told them. There were many prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, etc who foretold Jesus' coming.

Yes (sort of)
People were expecting and hoping for "the Christ."
When Jesus came, many didn't recognize Him as the Christ because He wasn't what they imagined He would be.
The disciples knew Jesus was the Christ because they saw the works he did every day. They heard His teaching that was better than anything they had ever heard.
But people before Jesus would have had no idea who the Christ would be. (In fact, they got several false ones who turned out to be fakes.)

That's referring to the virgin birth.
I've heard some great preaching on all the attempts of Satan throughout the Bible to kill generations of God's chosen people, especially young men, in an effort "to devour her Child as soon as it was born" (Revelation 12:4). I can dig out my notes and share them if you're interested?

OT prophets prophesied of Messiah coming as God gave them these prophecies to teach others. The NT is fulfilled prophecy of Messiah come.

Actually you aren't wrong...it does kinda go along with that. But "Seed of the Woman" is more about the offspring of a Nation/state.

There was a story of a blind man calling out "Son of David"
And a person could say that...but a better rendering would be "Seed of David" as the lineage of the Messiah was promised to David. (But I'm digressing)

Israel is seen many times in the prophetic literature as the "bride of God"...usually an unfaithful one. (Hosea has a whole story on this)

The story of Ruth and the kinsman redeemer is a foreshadowing of the truth to come as Jesus redeemed his people from death.

Read Galatians 3:16. You will understand this "Seed" metaphor then.

Moses was one of the greatest prophets prior to Jesus. He loved the Lord, but he also loved the people so much that he was willing to lay his own life down for them.

Many know of Moses without really even knowing him. In the same way, many know who Jesus is and what He did, but they dont really know Him either.

Read the book of Exodus and see inside of Moses, then do the same with Deutoronomy.

Exodus 33 is an interesting chapter. God is going to let the nations destroy Israel and fulfill the promise to Abraham through Moses. Moses argues in favor of the Israelites and opts to stay with them if the Lord does not go with them, aka protect them from certain death by the nations. God then relents and promises to go with them.
It is at this point Moses says, show me your glory. The sages understand this as saying, show me what you are going to do with your people, and Moses is shown the messiah, aka Jesus.

At the transfiguration, Moses is present. The Hebrew writer says Jesus is the radiant glory of God.

What I am saying is perhaps the OP can ask a Jewish person what they see in scripture about Messiah and why they wait? It's best to ask one who observes Torah. Such a person can tell you all sorts of things about scripture, interpretations, stories and teachings in Judaism. That answer ought to be the same answer a Christian believes in Messiah. The only difference is they missed Jesus passing by but will catch him next time around. We do great injustice to Christianity by truncating Jewish teachings and understanding of scripture and I may even dare say, we create our own Jesus by doing so.

I concur. Btw, my clif note version sources from Ramban's Torah commentary. He writes pages on this, including the three wells Abraham dug representing the three temples, the third being the Messiah.
