A walk with Jesus involves uncovering the spiritually discerned truths contained in the Word of God. To do this we must allow His Spirit to teach us these truths.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

However, by holding onto our own limited intellect, or by following the doctrines of men, we prevent the Holy Spirit of truth from dwelling within us.

In this present darkness, we need the light of Christ to show us the way. It is His Holy Spirit, which illuminates the path that we must follow.

A walk with Jesus requires the infilling of the Holy Spirit
Through the infilling of the Holy Spirit, we study to show ourselves approved unto God understanding what is contained in the written Word of God. A true laborer that can rightly divide the word of truth, need not be ashamed (2 Tim 2:15).

When we walk with Jesus and are in the light, the ability to rightly divide or explain the scripture leads others that are in darkness to that light (Mat 5:14, John 1:4).

And then, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we shall be able to shun or turn away from profane and vain babblings, for they will only increase unto more ungodliness (2 Tim 2:16).

Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

To walk with Jesus is to have our eyes focused on him alone. The love of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of the flesh separate us from God.

John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

When our vision is clouded, the light we claim to have is actually darkness. Only those who truly follow Christ are in the light (John 3:19, 8:12, 1 John 2:15).

Luke 11:35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

A walk with Jesus that leads unto eternal life, is to travel the narrow path that is illuminated by the Spirit of God in us (John 8:12, 1 Cor 2:11-16).

Matt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Without the Spirit of Christ, a walk with Jesus is impossible, and His teachings remain as parables (Romans 8:9-11, John 6:63).

To understand the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven is to walk with Jesus, through or as a result of the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Mat 13:11-27).

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

If we do not have the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we will be forever learning, and yet unable to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Tim 3:7).

However, when we are truly born again, the deceptive doctrines presented by the false teachers within the Christian churches are easily observed and avoided.

To walk with Jesus is to submit and obey him
Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?

We are to obey God rather than man. To follow the commandments and teachings of man is to disobey the commandments of Jesus.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The word transformed refers to a metamorphosis, and this is the description of a new life wherein we can put on the mind of Christ.

We must hear and obey God to inherit eternal life. By keeping the commandments of Jesus, our love towards him is proven and then the Spirit of truth can be received (John 5:24, John 14:17).

Jesus in the new covenant gospel has given us two commandments to follow. It is quite impossible to walk with Jesus if we are preoccupied with self-centered and materialistic lifestyles. Our goal should be to store up treasures for ourselves in Heaven, not on this earth (Matt 13:22, Mark 4:19, Math 15:6-9).

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

The end result of a faithful walk with Jesus is Salvation
Our reward of Salvation is fully realized at the appearing of our Savior who rewards the Elect with eternal life (Heb 9:28, Mat 24:29-31, Mark 13:24-27, Rom 2:7, 1 Cor 15:53-54).

1 Pet 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

The true hope for the faithful follower of Christ is not that we are saved, but that we can receive the knowledge of the assurance of our Salvation (John 6:54, 11:24).

Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed.

A walk with Jesus is to obey the gospel He has given, as it is the power of God unto our salvation (Romans 1:16)

1 Thess 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

This is such an inspirational post. Just always put God in the middle of everything that you do in life, I guess this is how we walk with Christ.

Bravo Brother. I agree completely. Especially about the Spirit! Many look to the scriptures alone and this is a mistake and will not lead to clarity, understanding or growth of our spirit. There is a way which seems right unto man, but in the end leads to death.

Every morning when you wake up....think to yourself......."today im going to make God happy".
Then ..........Just DO that till to go to sleep that night.
Get up the next morning......... = Do over.
It'll be the best "walk with Jesus" you ever had, if you'll just DO THAT.......everyday.

Every morning when you wake up....think to yourself......."today im going to make God happy".
Religion is man's self made effort to save himself, to attempt to reach God by his own deeds, = to try to become like God through himself.

I Love that quote is that yours? If so may I borrow it?
