Good grief Davies... Now you went and gave Farouk more amo.... :eeeekkk

reba:

Maybe I'll serenely rise above his apparent attempt to change the subject rather drastically...

I guess you're not into ear piercing...

Blessings.

I'm sorry, Reba. Let me try to stay on subject. Fortunately, before I became a Christian, I didn't get any peircings. Now that I am, I wouldn't get one either. I know it would be a stumbling block to many people. I'm thinking of our elders.

Davies,

Well, interesting that you should think this. I don't have a problem with it, anyway. People should recognize that a lot of young men (as well as women, of course) have it done, and I guess it makes them feel a bit more grown up, or whatever.

Blessings.

I don't have any piercings, but don't have any problems with people that do. When I was a teenager the only place to get one in the small town I grew up in was at the beauty parlor. Took some of the thrill out of it for me. I was not going to put myself into a position to cry in front of a bunch of old ladies. And I was a real wuss as a kid, I would have cried.

Nor do I have any problem. :)

Well, these days a lot of older ladies have also gotten multiple ear piercings, anyway; not sure what it proves, though... :chin

I don't think many Christians are against ear piercings. I've never met one who was. And I'm in the Bible belt.

questdriven,

No, I'm not suggesting there are.

The thread is kind of lighthearted, I guess ... :)

I think you said you want to do it?

Blessings.

Many years ago if you asked a person how many holes they have in their head, they would say 7. Now they would say 9, 11 or more :lol

What I said was mostly in response to the latest flow of conversation here.

And yeah, I'd be interested in getting earrings at some point.

Well, yes, I can understand you wanting to go have it done. I think you mentioned the pain issue as well; what a lot of people do is take a family member or friend to the mall or the parlor to hold their hand while the rings are embedded.

But in the end, how soon for people depends on how seriously committed the person is to go have it done, I guess, right?

Blessings.

From tattoos to piercings, lol. :biggrin

I don't have any piercings, and don't plan on getting any. I just don't see the point - I don't have any particular like towards them (but I don't dislike them), and add to that the initial pain and risk of infection...nah. Couldn't be bothered.

I'd consider a tattoo, but there are many many many threads on that ;)

You say you wouldn't like the pain of getting piercings, but might get a tattoo? A tattoo would be multiple times more pain than piercings. :o

...and with rings you can easily slip them in and out of the holes, once healed. (A tatt is far more difficult to remove!)

Expensive and painful to remove a tat too! It would be easier to just get one that gradually fades away like the kids do ;)
