Acts 16:31~~believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved..."

Christian Forums Statement of faith.....

"We believe that all humanity is lost and born with a sinful nature, and can only be saved by a personal faith in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, and not by any human merit or performance."

"We believe that genuine believers are born again by the Holy Spirit of God, and are indwelt, baptized into the body of Christ, the true church, and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and thus, unable to be separated from the love of Jesus Christ."
~~
Romans 8~~
35Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36Just as it is written,
“FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;
WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.”

37But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Can I lose My Assurance Of Salvation
Many misguided people who do not have the Assurance of Salvation, ask the question,” Can I lose my Salvation”? If you have ever wondered if you could lose your Salvation, you can rest assured that the answer is without any doubt, absolutely not!

But through the Holy Spirit you can have full Assurance of Salvation. Every time that salvation, redemption or resurrection of the believer is mentioned in salvation scripture it is always referred to in the future tense. The reason is that only upon Christ’s return to earth can this redemptive process take place.

One of the problems with Christianity today is that most have no hope. In fact few even understand the meaning of the word. How can you hope for something you claim to already possess?

1 Pet 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

You can not discuss the hope that you do not have, because of the assurance of Salvation that you claim to already possess, as opposed to the knowledge of one day receiving it. Many deceived souls accept the false teaching of having the assurance of Salvation by works, when they claim to be saved now by the words they speak. They do not have the hope of the rewards promised to be given at the end of this age, and therefore they miss out on an incredible journey. This is one of the greatest lies ever taught to the masses; it also parallels a similar condition that Jesus encountered with the false teachers of that time. Basing the assurance of salvation on works, whether it be through words or deeds, is self-righteousness, and it is a deadly and empty false doctrine.

For The Christian Assurance of Salvation Comes by Faith
Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

According to salvation scriptures, we gain access to His Grace and Mercy by Faith through His Spirit, with a blessed Assurance of Salvation. Our redemption from the sinful flesh and our gathering together unto Him, at the last day both occur at the same time. This is what motivates us, gives us a sure hope and allows us to produce works that are approved and acceptable through the Holy Spirit.

Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

We joyfully wait with great anticipation, for the second coming of our Redeemer. Our reward is with and through Him, and Christ is the treasure we cling to. For the spirit filled Christian Assurance of Salvation is the realization we will inherit incorruption and immortality, if we faithfully run the race set before us.

Lam 3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

The Lamb of God is also the King of Kings, and He alone provides our Assurance of Salvation. This gift is given to all who are worthy of it, that worship Christ in Spirit and in Truth.

Zech 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

The cross upon which Christ died, for the remission or covering of our sins, is the reason we can know of and obtain the Assurance of Salvation He brings.

Luke 1:77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

The explanation of this beautiful act of redemptive power and glory is given through His Love letter to us. This is our prized possession, it is the Living Word of God.

Acts 13:26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.

Following the new commandments that are written in our hearts and minds enable us to be referred to as His children. We can with Christ's Love, understand and direct others towards the path of the blessed Assurance of Salvation. When one experiences real joy, sharing this joy with others naturally occurs.

Acts 16:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

The gospel message and salvation scriptures of Christ to those that believe with all of their heart mind and spirit is the power of God unto the Assurance of Salvation. The word unto is an important one that distinguishes the timing. John uses the same word when he said that he baptizes with water unto repentance.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

We are to put off the works of darkness and the many false teachings that have lulled so many to sleep. Christ our Salvation draws nearer, as this present evil world is about to expire.

Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we (first) believed.

The Assurance Of Salvation Is Spiritually Discerned
That which is born of the flesh is of the flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is of the spirit.

Unless you are Born again you can not have a true knowledge of the Kingdom of God, or the true Assurance of Salvation.

Being born again and receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit are one in the same. Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter into the Kingdom of God (John 3:3-8).

The believer that has been sealed is Born Again. This life changing event is also known as the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Without this infilling, we can not understand and walk in the Word, and therefore the Assurance of Salvation is impossible.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise

Christ purchased us through His shed blood and gives us the Holy Spirit as a down payment. We are sealed or set apart from the world at this point, and the fulfillment of this contract which is our inheritance, occurs upon our redemption at His second coming.

Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Christ spoke plainly when He said that unless you believe and are baptized you shall not be saved. He did not say you are saved, but you shall be saved.

John the Baptist proclaimed that are two Baptisms; one is unto repentance, and the other is unto the Assurance of Salvation through the Holy Spirit.

All in Christ can have the Assurance of Salvation , but it does require the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit it is impossible to even understand the Word of God. This is why there is so much division in the so-called Christian church today.

Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

John also tells us in salvation scriptures that we will be baptized with fire. This will be a process in which the impurities and useless pursuits of our lives will be burned up. What is left behind will be the determination of what type of rewards are due.

1 Cor 3:13-14 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

Our faith will also be tried in much the same way as our works. The end result of real faith, is that it automatically produces good works, unto the Assurance of Salvation .

1 Peter 1:7-9 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he (saves us) by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

The Hope of our Assurance of Salvation, is actually both a tactical and a defensive weapon, that we use to endure and conquer.

1 Thess 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

We love Him because He first loved us. We believe through the power of the Holy Spirit that provides us with a lasting faith unto our Assurance of Salvation.

1 Peter 1:8-9 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

The Assurance of Salvation is realized at the second coming of Jesus Christ
Christ speaks very clearly regarding the timing, of not only our Salvation but the gathering together (or rapture), which most definitely occur at the same time. Here are a few more examples:

  • When you see the end time events start to unfold; then look up for your redemption (which is our salvation) is at hand (Luke 21:28).
  • Jesus will return with the Angels and reward all according to their works; some will inherit the new kingdom; many will be sent to Hell (Math 16:27).
The Word of God will return to set in motion the first judgment and resurrection; those that destroy the earth will be sent to Hell to await the lake of fire.

However a full reward is given to the prophets, saints and servants (Rev11:18). It should be noted that the prophets saints and others are rewarded at this time, which most assuredly is at the end of the great tribulation period. Two very crucial false doctrines are destroyed just by this one verse.

  • First of all, a rapture or gathering of the church before this time is quite impossible. How could the prophets not be worthy of the same rewards of the church? The entire body of Christ, together, will be rewarded with glorious new bodies at Christ's second coming. To suggest that the present day church is more righteous than those who died for their testimony of Christ (and penned the Word of God as they were inspired by the Spirit to do so), is ludicrous. But this is the teaching of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture movement. The church is raptured away and receive their rewards; then years later the prophets and saints are rewarded.
  • Secondly, the Assurance of Salvation at any time other than that of the second coming of Jesus our redeemer is also impossible. The reward for the righteous is salvation, which just happens to occur when Christ returns (Isa 62:11; Col3:24; Rev 22:12).
2 Thes 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to (or unto) salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

To understand the intended meaning of salvation Scripture it is important to understand that the word to, used in 2 Thes 2:13, carries the same meaning as the word unto, used in Matt 3:11.

In both verses the word that should be used is unto, and this subtle change creates a completely different meaning.

Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

John did not baptize with water and expect immediate repentance, it would be a process. So to then sanctification and belief of the truth are unto the Assurance of Salvation.

Matt 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

If any man does not have the spirit of Christ, or the Baptism of the Holy Spirit he can not be of Christ.

This is the key to all understanding, and allows us to walk with and in Him.

Our Lord said the "words that I speak they are Spirit and they are Life"(John 6:63). This is the reason for false teachings, various denominations, confusion and ignorance of the truth. Without the Spirit of Truth the teachings of man is just an opinion.

Thank-you very much, however I can not take any credit
I'm just a vessel for the Spirit of Truth and to Christ Jesus is all the Glory due!
Thank You for the input!

And I know these threads get 'boring' for some of us but it SHOULD NOT. We should never become 'familiar' with His so great a salvation of us. And with getting dunked in a tank of water for salvation as one of the top threads and the ever present FALSE push for The Lord Jesus Christ throwing some of His Children in the LoF.......the basics/milk need to be presented over and over and over and over and over and over.

“Whosoever believes in me will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:15

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:16

“He that believes on him is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Jn 3:18

“He that believes the Son has everlasting life, and he that believes not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Jn 3:36

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one that which sees the Son, and believes on him, will have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”Jn 6:40

“Truly I say unto you, he that believes on me, has everlasting life.” Jn 6:47

Yes we who have faith in Jesus for salvation, do indeed have the hope of salvation.

For faith is the substance of the thing we are hoping for.

Can a person depart from the faith, the substance of the salvation they are hoping for, and still have the thing that there faith obtained for them?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

I love those verses thanks for the presentation lets have a look at the last verse you presented If you don't mind.
First of all, the words have been changes in these verses to present a false Gospel message. The word has, represents having already obtained , but that is not at all the intended meaning.

John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

The word hath used here is in reference to "having the ability to" the same word is used in the following verses

Matt 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

Matt 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

In Mat 19:21, if we inserted the word has, the verse would be nonsensical

Mark 4:9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

They all had ears, however Jesus was speaking of those who had the ability to hear

The verse below speaks of the ability of Christ to reconcile us that we may be presented as blameless IF WE CONTINUE IN THE FAITH
That is the conditional promise required to obtain Salvation

Col 1:21-23 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel,

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Those who truly believe in Jesus will have eternal life, likewise, those who don't will have eternal wrath. Christ is not saying those that believe already have obtained eternal life, nor are the unbelievers yet dammed.

John 5:39-40Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me,
that ye might have life.

Hi. I agree with your original post although some parts of it might need more definition.

For clarification may ask, what must I do to be born again? Thank you.

ok, there is no way then for you to understand what is meant. :wave

Hi. I agree with your original post although some parts of it might need more definition.
For clarification may ask, what must I do to be born again? Thank you.

First off becoming born again is not a simple formula of words that we recite.
It is a gift from Jesus freely available to all who will:
believe in Him, (not just of Him) and the doctrines that He has presented
submit to His Lordship over all areas of our lives
and follow Him and His doctrines and teachings

I hope the following helps to elaborate.
Blesings to you Billy

2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

We all need to allow the true light of our Savior and Lord to shine in us, exposing our sin and deception. If we, however, hold on to any part of that sin nature, the darkness in us will prevent the light from shining through.

Matt 25:29-30 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Be careful therefore how you interpret the Word of God. To those who have the Spirit of God and are born again, much more spiritual understanding will be given. But those who do not have the truth and are not born again, from them shall be taken even that which they believe to have because it represents a lie.

John 3:5-7 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Those that deny the power of Christ is to follow after the commandments and teachings of men.
If you are forever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth,
it is because the Spirit of truth is not within you (2 Tim 3:7).

Until you are born again it is impossible to have a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Once this new Spiritual birth occurs deceptive doctrines are easily observed and avoided.

The very first warning Jesus gives us regarding the last days is to ensure that you are not deceived (Luke 21:8).

Eph 4:30-31 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and blasphemy, be put away from you, with all malice:

Mark 7:9 Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

When we claim to be born again can it be real if we are unable to understand the fundamental doctrine of Christianity regarding our Salvation and when it occurs?

It is the Comforter that Christ sent that teaches us all things and prevents us from following the deceptive doctrines of men. Far too many confuse the tingling sensation they experience from an entertaining well orchestrated cinematic like production, at a building called the church, with that of the infilling of the Holy Spirit that comes upon the members of the church.

If any man does not have the Spirit of Christ or the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, he can not be of Christ. We must be transformed by Christ to put on the Mind of Christ.

1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Our Lord said, “the words that I speak they are Spirit and they are Life” (John 6:63). The teachings of Jesus Christ can only be understood when His Spirit dwells within us. When this transformation occurs then the claim of becoming born again is real.

We are to seek after the kingdom of God and His righteousness, in a continual and diligent manner, without ceasing. The reward that we seek should be that of our Redemption and Salvation upon our Lord’s return, not the deceitfulness of riches (Matt 6:20-24, 33, 13:22, Rom 8:23, Eph 1:13-14).

John 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

When one is transformed by the Holy spirit with a renewed mind, it is impossible to love the world any longer (Rom 8:23).

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

I asked this:
"Please define what is meant by "hope" in your response. Until that is accomplished, there is no way to understand what is meant."
ok, there is no way then for you to understand what is meant.
OK. I understand. In fact, that's what I said. So this is clear that you're not interested in helping anyone to understand what words mean to you.
