Its very simple to find out if you are saved and have eternal life.

Do you want to know for sure?

I think you do:)

So.. First, understand that to be saved IS to have eternal life, and to have eternal life IS to be saved.
They are in fact, the same situation.
One = The other.
Salvation = Eternal Life.

Now....In 1st John, ... John told you that he wrote some things to you so that you could KNOW that you are saved.
And he's not kidding, you can KNOW....and thats why he said you can know.
It is a fact that you can know that you are saved and that you have eternal life.....or not.
John told you so.
Do you believe him?

To understand this, to discover how to understand how to KNOW, (according to John The Apostle) is first to realize that there is only one difference between a lost person, (an unsaved person)......and a saved person.
There is only one difference, and its an ETERNAL DIFFERENCE.
Its a biggie !

So.............Is it their "fruit?
Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
Nope.
Wrong answer.
See, you cant judge a person's salvation, .. that is to say, you cant know if a person is saved by their lifestyle ("fruit")......you can only know their lifestyle and then judge them according to that aspect.
But their lifestyle, is no proof of Salvation, its only proof of "fruit".
This explains why you can know THEM by their "fruit", but that is not the same as knowing if they are saved.
Do you see?
Remember, Saint, that "Satan comes as an angel of light", and his followers, his deceived, are often the same.
Listen....here is the thing about Satan.....He wanted to be God, failed, and now he counterfeits the real thing.
He is a really good at doing that.
And so it is on Christian forums, you find counterfeits with their arguments against the very principles of GRACE, trying to substitute everything they can find.... for example.
You find them in the pulpits, you find them on TV.
Spiritual sounding, spiritual doing, well versed in "christianese", but totally counterfeit... totally deceived, and totally trying to deceive you.
So, just as Satan can counterfeit the "gifts of the spirit and the fruit of the spirit", so can a person, so can a denomination....so can a "church".
This is why "knowing them by their fruit", has to be seasoned with the understanding that Satan can get a person to counterfeit spiritual fruit.
And SO, that is why "fruit bearing" and proving Christianity by "works", and all that stuff.....cant really prove Salvation, ....It only proves "fruit".
Wolves in sheep's clothing, are very very skilled at proving "fruit", (good works) and that is because they know you expect it.
So, yep, you can "know them by their fruit", but all you'll know is their "fruit", which does not prove redemption has been applied to them.

So, how do you know if you are saved,?..... As you can never know absolutely if anybody else you know, is saved.
You cant know that, as only God can know that, and they themselves can know it....(according to JOHN).. but not you....you cant absolutely know it about anyone, but yourself.
And so, by what measurement, by what proof, can you "KNOW"< as John said, that YOU are saved and have eternal life.? (Same thing).

Well, its that one thing that i mentioned earlier that separates an unbeliever from a believer.
There is only one thing, and that is found in this verse:

Romans 8:9.

Romans 8:9 is your absolute proof check measurement from God Himself, that PROVES you are saved and that you have eternal life.
This verse ALONE defines God's acceptance of you, (Salvation) based on something that He ALONE has caused to happen to you.
Without this, you are lost. But all who have this, and ONLY BECAUSE they have this, are saved and have eternal life.
Its the only proof that a person has Salvation and Eternal Life.
Go read the verse, and find out why all confessing, church membership, penance, water baptism, enduring to the end, holding unto your faith, and bearing "spiritual fruit", are all meaningless to save you or keep you saved or PROVE YOU ARE SAVED.
Go read the verse and find out if you are saved according to JOHN and according to GOD.
As this verse defines the one and only PROOF that absolutely proves you are saved, and do have eternal life.....or not.
Be blessed.

hello Kidron, dirtfarmer here

If you have a heart living in fear of a righteous God, then God's Spirit is not dwelling in you. But, if you have been released from that fear by His Spirit, so that we can enjoy our relationship with him, unashamed, then we have the privilege to call him "our Father".

hello Kidron, dirtfarmer here

You seem to be a purveyor of scripture truth in posts that I have read of yours, I understand and know that only those that truly seek the truth can be a teacher and dispenser guided by the Holy Spirit, not controlled by the doctrines of men, have that ability. I have respect for your answers on this forum.

Having said that, I would be interested in your thoughts about Christians, whose sin and sins are covered by the blood of Christ, as to whether we are to ask for forgiveness for transgressions committed after salvation.

All is fullfilled. All mankind is saved. The court is empty. The unconditional love of God.

I can now close the book and walk with God in love and peace.

I can finally say, it is finished.

hello kiwidan, dirtfarmer here

All mankind is not saved, only those that by faith have believed or now believe that Christ has died in the place and they have been resurrected to walk in newness of life.

God is unconditional love. He has washed away the sins of the entire world and nailed the law to the Cross.

The world is just lost under carnal law that was nailed to the cross, and the sins of the entire world are forgiven.

Everyone has life in them. God is the life and light.

I know many might take things literally and cant see the white under the ink and think they are the only saved and the bride of Christ but let's ask Christ because the Old Testament is all about 'god' and marriage with his people just like the Christians and bride of Christ.

"At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven."

Thank you for your answer Christ.

I have no problem agreeing that God's love is unconditional and that the sin of the whole world was laid on Christ when he was nailed to the cross, but it takes faith in Christ's sacrifice to move a person from unbelief to belief. I do not believe in universal salvation nor does scripture teach universal salvation. If you are part of the judgment after the 1000 years you will be cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death.

So you believe Christ went to the cross and washed away the sins and saved only a few people with eternal life, only a few people you believe through your knowledge of good and evil, only those who enter the narrow path are saved and have eternal life?. Just a couple people.

To enter the Kingdom is to know The Truth and walk with God for those who find it through the narrow path and Christ has washed away the sins of the entire world. What does the sins of the entire world mean to you?. Only a few and the high majority are going to burn in a lake of fire forever?

"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind."

"He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."

The court room is empty.

Hello DF.

Its the Born Again, the redeemed by the Blood of Jesus, through Faith, who have the Holy Spirit.
A person is not a legitimate Son of God unless they have the HSpirt in them.
As without this, there is no 'born again", there is no "regeneration", there is no "Sonship".
The condition to be accepted by God, has nothing to do with fear, .. lack of it, or too much of it., but rather God is looking for Faith.
That's God's condition to impart sinless perfection in the form of RIGHTEOUSNESS into and upon a BELIEVER.
He is waiting on an open and willing heart to reach out in Faith to Him Through Christ, convicted by the Holy Spirit to do so, and wanting to be saved.
= SALVATION.
= Eternal.

Regarding "fear", well, .........the fear of the Lord is to depart from evil.

Here is something to think about my Brother,......, the Bible often uses the word "fear" regarding God<... and a way to understand this word regarding its proper connotation, is to think of it like this...
God's Holiness would make the sun seem like ICE with regards to HEAT.
Follow me?
God exits within a Righteous LIGHT, and this Light is HOLINESS and its unimaginable, indescribable, and yes, severe.
God IS that.
Remember that burning bush that talked to Moses?
Remember that sparkling diamond like brilliance of the Transfiguration?
Remember those burning eyes in The Revelation?
God's Light is hot, its Heat, its cleansing, its dissecting.

Jesus The Christ, who IS God, stood on this earth, with feet touching and walking upon what He created.
So, to have a "healthy respect" regarding the power and the authority and the holiness of God, is to "fear", in a way that is exactly correct.
To show reverence to the God of our Salvation, is to have "bible fear" that is very very useful to maintain as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

I just believe Christ did not fail and the law was fullfilled, there was a great earthquake, the veil was torn and many other things on that great and dreadful day, and i believe Christ. And I believe that Christ accomplished what he come to do.

I wonder under what law God and Christ is going to Judge the world?. Christ who washed away my sins, but not only mine but the entire worlds as multiple witness scriptures say.

If there is no law to be judged under as Christ fulfilled and sin is washed away as many scriptures comfirm, even we now live under our nations Laws. Who can lose?

"To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone's account where there is no law."

"because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression."

"For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

"It is finished"

"Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died."

Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

chances are if your not sure if you think if you hope your saved..Chances are your not . Jesus said you must be Born again . i enjoy forums and the debates and discussions. for the life of me i have yet to figure topics like this out. i hope kiwidan is not implying universal salvation. where no one is lost but every one goes to heaven

Of course we do! (1 John 1:5-2:2) I could not help but to answer your question.

hello Douglas Summers, dirtfarmer here

I don't have any authority to stop any one from answering any of my post and if I did I would not stop them. We learn from others, how God has dealt and is dealing with them by their conversations. Sometimes it gives us another perspective and often deepens our faith..

Thanks for your answer, but if we have already received forgiven all sins, past, present, and future, why is it necessary to ask for forgiveness again? Is that not similar to crucifying Christ again?

Hi Kidron,
We finally agree!!!

I just want to say this regarding fruit.
There are plenty of persons who produce more fruit than I do.
I did what I thought God wanted me to do and I think I did well.
I've been very devoted to my family...Husband, children, parents, siblings...
For others it will be different fruit.
I think smiling at someone in the supermarket is a fruit...?

But.

I do think that having the Spirit of God does produce a change in your life.
If you produced no fruit before
and now you do and speak about God and tell how He has changed your life,
that would give me a clue that the person thinks they are saved and I must then believe that they are.

It would be the transformation.
But only God knows for sure as to others.
As to myself, I believe that I'm saved as long as I keep Christ in my life and live for Him.

So you believe Christ went to the cross and washed away the sins and saved only a few people with eternal life, only a few people you believe through your knowledge of good and evil, only those who enter the narrow path are saved and have eternal life?. Just a couple people.

The court room is empty.
Kiwidan.
What goes on.
I leave for a while and you fall apart??
What happened?
What does John 3:16 mean?

I think this is a dangerous statement to make for anyone reading along.
I always worry about those reading along.
Doctrine does not save; however, belief in God and love for Him is a must.

He loves us - but we must love Him back.
I'm sorry, I don't mean you.
How did you come to this??

I just believe Christ did not fail and the law was fullfilled, there was a great earthquake, the veil was torn and many other things on that great and dreadful day, and i believe Christ. And I believe that Christ accomplished what he come to do.

Yes. But now there IS LAW!!!
When was there no Law???
What does fulfilled mean???
