hello Douglas Summers, dirtfarmer here

I don't have any authority to stop any one from answering any of my post and if I did I would not stop them. We learn from others, how God has dealt and is dealing with them by their conversations. Sometimes it gives us another perspective and often deepens our faith..

Thanks for your answer, but if we have already received forgiven all sins, past, present, and future, why is it necessary to ask for forgiveness again? Is that not similar to crucifying Christ again?
Hi Dirtfarmer,

God is just. John, His Apostle, tells us to confess our sins. I have to believe John.
1 John 1:8-10
1 John 2:1-3

John tells us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to cleanse us.
But you might say that this means PAST sins.

So in John 2 John tells us that he hopes we do not sin. He's speaking to believers now. But IF we do, we have an advocate with the Father. This is for current or ongoing sins.

Jesus says that He has the authority to forgive SINS in Mathew 9:6
John 20:23 He tells the Apostles that sins will be forgiven by them. These are future or ongoing sins.

Also, think of it like this.
You're married. You're sure your wife knows you love her.
Do you never ask her forgiveness?
It's just nice if you do. Even out of respect.

Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

The Father does not Judge and gave all judgement to Christ and Christ come to fullfilled the Law and wash away the sins of the world as the perfect servant.

Now, if Christ was to send anyone to the so called 'lake of fire', that I dont believe because I believe it to have a totally different meaning than most people, he would have died in vain and failed.

and night for ever and ever.
Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

  • The Scripture speaks for it self. The reason a child of God seeks forgiveness for his sins before God is so not to lose fellowship with the Father. (We are the temple of God) Sin separates the prodigal son from the father, repentance restores fellowship. God will chastise His sons (correct them) Unrepentant sin will result in physical death of a believer. (1 John 1:1-10) (1 John 2:1-17) (1 John 5:1-21). It is a sober thought that while our savior has died for our sins, we all have to stand before the judgment seat of Christ for things done in the flesh weather good or bad.(2 Cor. 5: 1-10) (1 Cor. 3:9-23) This judgement is for the receiving or loss of rewards (Crowns)

It can be interpreted any way.
