I call that stuff schlock. (Yiddish word)

Swag is equivalent to booty. Prizes or lost treasure found.

Hi everyone,

i have been on 2-3 christian forum sites from 2004 and have found them very edifying and rewarding

however due to the enormous size and the many different denominations fellowshipping together

there have also been many heated debates disagreements and confrontations on them

i love this site because it is a lot more intimate and the members are very well mannered

i found it because i was looking for another site

joined participated and the rest is history

i enjoy the fellowship here

Peace

All this input about the word "swag". I can't believe this is foreign to anyone, but it might just be that I listen to a fair amount of sports talk radio. They refer to apparel like Red Wings swag, Cowboys swag, Notre Dame swag.

In the slang section of dictionary dot com.

Swag -
"free merchandise distributed as part of the promotion of a product, company, etc"

I was invited here by a member. Cant' remember if it was Jason or one of the ladies - we were both members elsewhere and one day I got a message, "Hey, Mark, I found a place I think you'd like........."

I ended up a staff member after posting here for some considerable time. I think it was Reba who approached me. In any event, there is no application process, it's a matter of being asked. I think it was my humble avatar that convinced them. :)

Back in 2003, I purchased my 1968 Camaro my dad called a StoveBolt. I found some car forums and spent a lot of time on them, but many of the members were harsh and that's when I stumbled into this forum. It was way different in 2004 when I joined.

The "other" site with .com was actually a splinter group from this forum and they took a good number of our members. Ive seen this one other time, but they were short lived.

I can't remember the first time I was a moderator here. But this is, and has always been my home.

I was here when we went from PHPBB to VBulliten and I personally migrated and moved the site to our current software. Nick made the jump to the virtual server and now I'm back to ride the easy train. Not really, haha, there are some changes coming!
