God must have shut down HIS oven systems. I wonder why HE's left HIS electric coolers on for so long.

Who will help me hack into God's
oven

Ahhhhhh.... finally, a cool morning. It's refreshing to sit here with a cool breeze coming through the window. The house is 79 (f). This is the first time the house has been below 80 since last week.

Heat's first casualty...

So sad... my daughter just called from taking care of my in-laws animals ... she found their dog dead in his kennel. The kennel had plenty of shade and there was plenty of water for him... but it was almost 105 here yesterday afternoon and he was a very old dog. I guess the heat was just too much for him.

:crying

I think a hot weather is preferable. You can always buy some ice-cream, take something cold...or operate your AC.

But when the weather is cold.. What would you buy? Coffee? Hot water? Blanket? Cigar? Rum? Warmer? Roast yourself?

It looks as if the poor thing lay down in the shade to sleep and the sun moved over him causing him to overheat. He was old, we're not sure exactly how old but he had the grey muzzle and stout body of an older dog and he was a little arthritic. But still, he was out running first thing in the morning yesterday, just fine and he was fine when the folks left for town yesterday afternoon...

However, his body looked very peaceful and not at all distressed. It doesn't look as if he suffered any at all. He was such a good dog. :sad

It generally is much cooler up here than in the valley, but we get about 3 weeks of hot weather each July. This year the weather has been unbearably hot... 4 days now of +100 temps, that's unusual for us and we don't have air conditioning. (Usually we don't need it.) I don't like this at all.
