kind of a big deal. a lot of the southeast will deal with fall out; the coastal areas will take a direct, huge hit. some areas are evacuating, already.

I ask that your pray for God's perfect will and for the people and communities affected by this hurricaine. On the plus side, The President has promised $$$$, already...that will help, tremendously (I hope...).

Thanks :)

Praying! Are you in the path of the storm?

This time last year I was on day 2 out of 5 full days without electricity or running water because of Hurricane Irma.
I've been through some hurricanes before but Irma was rough. Left a lot of destruction in her wake. And the people that generally end up losing their lives are the ones who don't follow the rules for evacuations and curfews. I remember listening to the radio last year as the storm was blowing through (power had already gone out) and there was a report that emergency crews had to go out and rescue someone that crashed their car. And then after the storm a young girl died of carbon monoxide because the family ran their generator inside their house.
All completely avoidable.
So praying there are no senseless tragedies like that in the wake of this storm.

I hate the fact the media as they did all so many times with Irma and matthew and before is make it worse then it was. I have weathered, served the guard in:
Wilma, George, dennis , rita, katrina(I barely scratched Miami)
matthew, and Irma.
I can go into the long list of storms that I have been through. I take them seriously but im not going to loose my mind over this. I live close to the ocean and I know my house. I can be taken out , of course, fay taught me that if a flood came here, my home would simply float down the road. fay sat over my area for a week and the waters never flooded my drive way,

You are still relatively young, and very strong Jason. Its the elderly and frail that need to particularly plan ahead.
45,my wife is 60.we have shelters here.most nursing homes in my area are shelters. I worked for one where I stayed in it for the storm.it had its own power back up.my mom and dad stayed in that a few times.it will flood though .

The elderly, and anyone frail, are better off going to a shelter like that if ordered to. A strong man like yourself might be able to weather it in place, or at least wait a bit longer to make sure where the storm is going.

A local ,in my state will habe plans, they talk about hurricane season in late may on the radio and hold symposiums.

Tv as well .look when i said if my house was to flood, most of my county save the sand ridge area, would be under water.i soul take a tsunami to do that.I dont live in a former marsh ,grove, but on higher ground.costal areas here have old money who seldom live in those homes.

My point is that I have weathered, left my county and observed the hype by the media.2 inches of water on the road isn't flooding, we get that from normal t storms.in fact the worst was from that,6 inches of rain in one hour,it's not unusual to have had catfish swimming in the aftermath of a rain storm here.miles inland .

They do like to sensationalize it a bit. Draws people's interest.

Your house being on higher ground is good.
