And I really need some advice on how to go about it. I decided that since I really want to be a Christian rap artist (under the name J.C) but I also want to have a normal life, I want to be an amateur only. Any advice on how to get started and places that I could possibly peform?

Other Resources

I'd suggest finding a Christian Rap album and see who produced it. Then find out who the agent of that artist is and get in touch. If you have a demo disc of your material, original Rap only, send it off. Make sure if you write your own lyrics that you copyright them for your own protection.

the poor man's copyright that holds up in court is to write your lyrics on paper and mail itt to yourself. The canceled stamp validates the contents if you place the evelope some place to be opened only in court before a judge.

Also if you have published it on the web, you cannot sell it for "first rights". It is already counted as published so you would have to go for "second rights".
