I am working on a website for our Ladies Retreat this summer. This is the first time I've ever worked on the backside of a website...at least at this level. It's pretty fun actually.

I wanted to post a link to the website, because, as I understand it, the more links from other sites, the more Google might recognize the site. We'll be emailing the link to the various churches and women who go to the retreat, with strong exhortations to bookmark the site...but if I can get it to show up on a Google search, that would be a good thing!

At any rate, if folks could click on the link and take a look around, even if it doesn't show up on Google, it would be nice to get some feedback from folks as to how informative and helpful of a site it is...And, if you're a woman who will be in the vicinity of the Sawtooth Mountains this summer, print off the registration form and sign up! ;)

Nice website. For this type of thing it doesn't need to be fancy, and (for me at least) it achieves the purpose and I was happy surfing the site. Only thing is that the image gallery is a bit cumbersome to navigate, where a different page has to be loaded for a larger image. I suggest installing Lightbox - huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/ - this will make it easier and quicker to view images, if your webhost will allow that (I'm assuming you're using a simplified WYSIWYG editor).

But other than that, nice job, especially for a first website. :thumbsup
 
I clicked over long enough to see the counter go from 35-36! :thumbsup

Nice looking site. Not too busy and distracting.
 
Haha. I loved the question on this page: "If it isn't on Google, does it really exist?" That hits home with me because I am a super-google user. :biggrin

For some reason that question seems to have the same ring to it as: "If a man speaks in the woods and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?" :lol

Nick, I will look into Lightbox...it's a freebie site, so I don't know how many "bells and whistles" I can load, but if I can, I'll do it...this has been a good learning experience for me!
