Well, I am going to be rather blunt about this. God's word, the Bible, tells us specifically that homosexuality is a sin, the same as murder, theft, or even adultery committed by heterosexuals. In the same way as I have love for my friends and acquaintances, who have stolen, lied, cheated, etc..., I still realize that unless they make the choice in their heart to accept Jesus into their life, and renounce their sinful past, they will end up in hell, end of story.

The reason I am writing this is not to criticize, or condemn; I have committed many sins against the Lord, and will undoubtably slip up and commit even more. However, the first step in any battle is to recognize the enemy, to accept that homosexuality is a sin, and most importantly, to find someone who can help. Please, I pray that you find a pastor or a trusted Christian who is rooted in scripture, and can help you overcome your temptations. Temptation will always be there; you may find it difficult to maintain a successful heterosexual relationship, and you may even feel rejected by many people in this world. BUT DON'T EVER GIVE UP! "For it is far better to enter the kingdom of heaven with your hand cut off, then it is to enter into hell with your body intact. Christ is with you in this, and even though I don't know who you are, I'll be praying for you and all the others who struggle in this way.

I have no problem with homosexuality. I've gotten over that prejudice. But I'm not up for a big discussion. I haven't done all that much research into Homosexuality and the Scriptures.

No, you focus on Jesus and your relationship with Him, and who you are in Him. Then He will take care of your sexual orientation.

You can’t talk yourself into being straight. You don’t have that kind of power. Only Jesus does.

forgive me if im wrong but... that seems like if you worship jesus your homosexuality will disapear?? i think thats horrible homosexuality isnt something that needs to be removed like a damn disease

rover there is nothing wrong with you or anything you've done im sorry that people in this world are too blind to see that.

ok i just looked over this page a little more and found this

Answers to Questions Most Asked by Youth in Recovery

and now i am sure that some of the churchs veiws are horribly wrong.

it gets me realy pissed off that the church feels homosexuality is a disease or a problem that needs to be cured or removed.

Ok Mrblonde_144000 ]
now if you interpret everything in the bible literaly such as you have said for homosexuality being a sin then you also believe
the world was born in exactly 7 days
two humans started the whole species.. witch i may point out is impossible because if two people had kids and those kids had kids the result has a good chance of having birth defects
so you cant take the bible literaly

Yes, actually I can take the Bible literally...To me, the belief that a God created the Earth in seven days makes far more sense than the belief that we are all just byproducts of random chance. The laws of nature (specifically, the Law of Conservation of Mass, from Chemistry) state that the sum of the products in any chemical reaction have to equal the sum of the reactants--something can not come from nothing.
Translation: Assuming there is no God, there would be no way for Earth, or anything else in the solar system to be created. The so-called "primordial soup" of evolution, with all it's gases and other compounds could not have come into being of their own accord, they would have had to been CREATED. And so I am inclined to believe that if He can create the entire solar system, stars, planets, everything, than He can do the Earth in seven days.

As for the chances of two people starting the species without birth defects, I will admit that it isn't a 100% chance, BUT it can happen--it violates no laws of nature, so it is very possible. Besides, the Bible never tells us that none of their offspring had birth defects, and over time, these defects would have weeded themselves out of the genetic code.

Please, in the future try and keep questions on topic. I will defend myself and Scripture when it is questioned, but I would really prefer not to. I would much prefer to help Rover with what is obviously a very sensitive issue.

P.S. Could someone do me a huge favor, and get rid of my "triple post?" Apparantly I was stupid and hit the submit button two too many times....

agreed but all i am saying is this form and much of the christian community finds homosexuality to be a problem or disease that needs to be cured its not its something that is his choice in life that is obviously why god gave humans free will so they can choose how they want the world to be and how their lives should be

as for beleiving the bible literaly .. as you said
something can not come from nothing.
what created god?

now to be honestly i have been saying this for a long time.... when somone brings up the big bang.. i beleive in it but i say that it must have been a divine power aka god who created the elements for the big bang to happen i dont beleive god just snaped his finger and made the universe apear

MorgWolfsong, and Mrblonde_144000, let's create a new topic for you to discuss this in.

rover, sorry to say this dude, but you need to repent. I was gay, and I guess I still am, but through prayer I'm overcoming. Homosexuality is not Gods plan for man, as stated in a few verses probably already given here.

rover, pray with all your heart. You can change, and God can help you. Don't have the 'I can't do it' mindset. ALL things, not SOME things, but ALL things are possible through prayer. Have faith in the Lord, he can save you from this prison you're in. Trust me, about two weeks ago I was so bogged down, and I felt very guilty (secretly of course), but now I feel a million times better, and it's all because of prayer.

Jesus heals. Let him heal you, my friend.

Rover, also never forget that if you pray and still honestly feel you have taken the right path then continue as you were do not let these extremist tell you how to live. God gave man free will so we could decide what the bible means to us and choose our lives

Morg, i fail to see any logic in your posts. How can you say that homosexuality is NOT wrong when the bible tells us so clearly that it is?

I have a friend who is bi, but i love him none the less and hangout with him and treat him like anyone else. I accept him as i would anyone. Does that mean i think it's ok for him to be that way? No. It is still sin. I have a friend who gets around and whos goal in life is to get laid as much as possilbe. I still love him and hang out with him. He's my best friend. Do love him? Yes. Do i support what he's about? No. Is what he does a sin? Yes. Do i treat him differently and love him less? No.

Gay is NOT ok with God. Does it make you less? No, we all sin, and we love you as Christ loves us.

Probably because the Bible also mentions that women should be servants of men and loads of other things most Christians ignore. I also know that in my case, the Bible saying that it's wrong means nothing because I'm atheist and don't believe in the Bible, so if you're going to condemn homosexuals, you need a few better reasons than that to convince many of us.

I have not read the rest of the thread, only your opening sentence. You say you feel seperated, know that God loves you and is with you and maybe try some other youth groups or something. Being gay is not a reason for people to reject you, the sin isn't being gay the sin is doing something about it. Unfortunately this means trying/learning to control lustful thoughts. but thats the same for us all. I had a gay christian friend who thought the issue for a long time- prayed for healing, had people pray he would be healed, etc. He eventually came to the conclusion that maybe God wasn't healling him so he could be used some how, may be it could be the same for you. Maybe this could become a fantastic witness. you feel attracted to men, but know its wrong so won't do anything about it. anyways. that went on a bit - i really only wanted to say remember God loves you and always will and wants a relationship with you. keep chatting to him bout it, all the best, prayers are with you

God did not plague you with being gay !! You made that preference. It is a SIN.. One shall not lay with another man as he lies with a WOMAN. Its in god's word. You need to realize you are not gay your very decieved by satan. God does not make anyone gay - for he provides us with our own wife or husband. A match to our adam n eve. Homosexuality is wrong- and un godly.

God does not match everyone with a husband/wife

is it possible to look at it as - sin came into the world, therefore people get ill, suffer, are gay....

God doesn't take away all suffering and illness so why would he stop people being gay, in the same way he doesn't stop other people's temptations

Being gay is sinful, just as sinful as looking at women lustfully. Who can say they are clean of that sin? I dont defend homosexuality, i do not condem homosexuals, it is not our responsibility or purpose to judge. Jesus didn't come to condem and if he is what we chose to live like, we musn't condem either. Homosexuality has been cured, there are many testimonies in regards to that. Perhaps as someone stated before me there is a mission field before you because of it. And whoever said that God has a woman in mind for everyone is very mislead. Most of the apostles weren't married if i remember correctly, and they were the most reightous of men. Love the sinner hate the sin.

You are right^ It is not good to be gay but still do not feel bad. Just pray to God and he'll deliver you from homosexuality. I would like to show you a wonderful article I found about homosexuality at bible.com.

You can go there. I somehow doubt you will though since you last replied about a year ago on these forums, Rover. :sad

But for what is it worth, you are his child first. If you must live this way then you need to ask him questions and find answers through him first.I am sorry you feel this way.Ask yourself why though.

hi, i just joined, this is my alias account because i dont want people to know who i really am...incase something goes wrong. But yeah im a christian teenager (guy) and im gay. Dont know why God plagued me with this problem, but its so hard...i feel very alone and separated from everyone. What should i do?? its so hard to change, i feel like im fooling myself...

Hi, Rover. I know many gay people, and I love them very much; they're in my family and in my group of friends.

And don't ask why God put you in such a horrible position. It's okay to be gay! God created you as his child, not as a mistake. You are gay for a reason, he is straight for a reason, she is gay for a reason, she is straight for a reason; we are all his children.

Listen, if you can not control your attraction to men, then you are gay, and that is fine. If you can control it, then you most likely are not gay.

But from what you are saying, it seems as if you are really gay. DO NOT CHANGE IF YOU CAN'T CONTROL. If you do, then you make yourself look really shameful, at least in front of me.

All I can say is good luck in everything, and good luck in finding someone in life to be with you. ^_^

It is incorrect to say it is ok, you fail to use any doctrine to support your claim and that will not fly around here.

Paul writting to the romans warns men not to lie with other men as they would with a woman. How much clearer does this need to be?

Being gay is NOT an affliction or something you are born with. There has yet to be any proof to the contrary.

Get your facts straight before you generalize. We are also warned that those who teacher others God's ways are to be judged harsher than others, so before you tell others what is the Lords way, be able to back it up with the Lords words.

Who in their right mind would choose to be gay when that decision would cause so much pain and heartache, not to mention discrimination and even hatred? I'm friends with a lot of gay individuals and all of them said for them it was not a choice. They felt an attraction to the same sex way before they were old enough to think about it or make a real decision on the matter, same as how I had early crushes on boys in 2nd and 3rd grade without having the slightest understanding of romance or sexuality. If being gay was a choice, Exodus Int'l would not exist. Neither would all the loving churches that try to embrace homosexual people and help them find a better way, There wouldn't be an incredibly high suicide rate among homosexuals if being gay was something that was desired and chosen. Who has ever chosen to be straight? Nobody. I am straight because it's the way I'm made. It would be ridiculous for me to choose anything but my nature and it's the same for gay and lesbian folks.
