i have an idia to spread gods messege to yong children. to create a group that is based on singing dancing drama and puppets.
I WANT IT TO BE FUN!!!!!!!!!
but i would not charge for it and would have voltry donations to supply funding.
do you lot think it would work????

The Davidic and interpretive dance is F-U-N!!
Not only that it's very spiritual and meaningful, i've taken interpretive dance from a lady who used to come down to a little store front church a couple of days a week.
It would be something great for young girls and teenagers....guys can take it too.

If this is what you have a heart for.....Go for it!!!
 
The church that we used to visit occasionally did puppet shows and the kids LOVED it. It's a great way to help kids understand a message. When you're trying to teach kids (especially the 2-6 age range), you need to use things that grasp their attention and make it fun.
 
It depends what message you are trying to put over. When I was that age the pentecostal church I attended with my parents preached hell-fire and that even children would go to hell. That sort of stuff is abusive and should be illegal!

Phil: Grandma, do you ever get afraid of anything?

Grandma: Yes, Phil, I think everyone has a fears at times. What is it you fear?

Phil: Oh, lots of things - like darkness or failing a math test or something being under my bed at night. And I fear death too. Do you fear death, Grandma?

Grandma: No one wants to die, but if we are a Christian, God will help us. And He will help you get over all of your fears too, if you'll let Him. The Bible says "perfect love casts out fear." And we know it also says "God is love." So God can handle any fear we have.

Phil: Will you tell me a story about how someone in the Bible handled his fear, Grandma?

Grandma: OK, there once was an old man named Jesse, who had a very large family. One of his children, the youngest one, was named David. Old Jesse loved his young son David so much and wanted to teach him how to be brave.

Phil: Why's that?

Grandma: Well, back in those days the people had life a lot tougher than we do today, and Jesse wanted his young son David to be able to take care of himself. Jesse told David stories about God and about how He watched over little children. He told David that if he was afraid, he should remember God loved him and was watching over him. Jesse sent David out to the hillside to watch over his sheep. For many days at a time, David would stay out there with the flock of sheep. David was their protector.

Phil: That was a dull job wasn't it?

Grandma: Well, not always. Sometimes David was very lonely out there, and sometimes he was afraid. At night he would sit around the campfire by himself and make up little songs and they would help him not to be so lonely or afraid.

Phil: What's to be afraid of? A few sheep?

Grandma: Oh, there were a lot of things to be afraid of. Once a lion came to eat the sheep, and David had to kill it. And another time a terrible bear came, and David bravely killed it too. David had a little song he had written that helped him not to be afraid.

Phil: Yeah! Maybe it'll help me not to be afraid. What is it?

Grandma: It goes like this: "What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee." That means David would put his trust in God, and God would help him not to be afraid. David never forgot that song or how God helped him kill the lion and the bear.
 
I was in drama and puppet plays in high school for young kids and young adults and children.

They loved it and it conveys the message well.

I performed the parable of the prodigal son in fromt of like 1000 people. That was fun.

You have your whole adult life to be bored and discouraged by the insanity of life and the reality of immanent death and suffering.

Whats wrong with some puppets for the tots?

I know many that think it's "wrong" and unGodly. WHATEVER. A child is just that....a CHILD. When trying to teach them, they need fun things to hold their attention. I've told different bible stories to my children but they didn't remember it from just telling them or reading a book to them. Yet, involve a craft of some sort to go along with the story and they can tell you all about what the craft represents and then they suddenly remember the story.

I think that the puppet show is a great idea.
