1 john 1:7 & 9 we are to walk in the light as he is in the Light also to confess our sins . then he will do his part forgive us and cleanse us . there are arrogant teachings where you have to cross every T dot every I . good news is we can approach the throne of GRACE with boldness 24/7 . his mercy endures .

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Tim 1:7

To begin with.....
Eternal Life, is not a period of time.
You, ither saved or lost, are an eternal being, and you...the real you, (not your body).....will never die.
You are ALREADY "eternal"..
So....this means, that the idea of "eternal LIFE", has to be different then just .... existing forever, as you are already going to be doing that.
As a matter of fact, you already are....
So, when we think of """eternal life"""", then its very simple to theologically understand that this is referring to the PERSON who IS, > eternal life".<
When this person (Jesus The Christ) says that He is the "resurrection and the life", then He is showing you "eternal life"...as HIMSELF.
Then, we see this following scripture in the way its meant to be understood, and not just used negatively by people who reject OSAS, and have deep issues with Grace..

John 3:36

''''''''''1.) Whoever believes in JESUS has eternal life; ......2.) whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, ........3.) but the wrath of God remains on him.

FIRST, you have the "eternal life part".... = has the SON = HAS ETERNAL LIFE.
See that?
This is showing you WHO is ETERNAL LIFE, and if you "have" Him, that is......"Christ in you the hope of Glory".
Which means, = you are born again...

vs, 2nd) ... the rest of the verse, where you are told that if you dont "obey".
And in the context of the VERSE, that is connected...1-3.......its ALL explaining to you that obeying is to receive Him, as your savior, and then you are born again, and have "Eternal Life", and the consequences of not doing this. (obeying).
And how do we know this is what the verse is teaching?
Because of the last part..
3.)... "shall not see LIFE". = means a Christ rejector will not have Jesus (eternal life) inside them, and therefore will not exist with God, in heaven.
And...
"the wrath of God remains on them"..

Notice how all this works together, theologically.
1.) You have Jesus, who IS, eternal life.
You have those who have HIM< who are believers, = they have eternal life, as they have JESUS = who IS, "eternal life".
2.) And to obey Him, is to receive Him..... "for if you believe not that i am Messiah, then you will die in your SINS".... John 8:24
So, in that case, 3.) you have unbelievers who do not have Christ, = do not have eternal life, and they have God's wrath instead resting on them, waiting to meet them after they die.

A big claim "You are eternal"

If we are eternal why did God stop Adam from getting to the tree of life so
"He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."
Gen 3:22

When God sad they would die if they eat from the tree of knowledge, what death was he talking about?
It cannot be death physically, because they were already going to die, unless they eat of the tree of life,
so it must have been spiritually.

Jesus says people are born dead, but are brought to life in Him.
Now this all points to man naturally being mortal and not eternal. So what is your evidence we are
eternal?

For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.
John 3:20-21

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
John 3:36

Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
John 5:23

The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me,[a] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
John 10:25-30

If you believe in someone you trust them and their instruction. Now think a moment.
When you learn to drive you trust the driving instructor, you do what he says.
When you learn to fly you truth the pilot instructor, you do what he says, you believe in
him and trust they know what you need to learn and put into practice.

Now a group have arisen who claim you believe in Jesus but disobey what He says,
do not follow His words, and continue in the world in the ways of the world.

These are not sheep but wolves and their agenda is to attempt to take Jesus away from
believers, while not listening to our Lord.

And their justification is because Jesus promised to save His people, to say you can lose
this salvation you are saying He is lying. The truth is stranger though. Jesus will save His
own, and they will never be lost, but are you part of His people, following and listening to Him
because you love Him? You are. Great, the Lord will keep you till you meet Him.

But as Judas and Peter found out, what we are becomes clearer as we walk our paths, and
we maybe sure we know where we are, but truly only God knows, and only when we follow
Him and His word does our path become the walk in the Kingdom. Amen.

So follow, listen, walk in love and praise of our glorious Lord as we stride forward in purity,
holiness and love, Amen.
So true, so beautiful, so accurate. Just like brother JLB mentioned earlier. I hope the teachers of the Word are reading these posts that they may learn and teach correctly the Word of God --- as it is , and not sugar coat it with false assurances of salvation for every believer even though some of them may choose to live in unchecked unrepentant sinfulness. It's like crucifying Jesus all over again ( Hebrews 6:6) How then can such expect salvation ? Because the pastor assured ?

When God sad they would die if they eat from the tree of knowledge, what death was he talking about?
He was speaking of the Second Death, the death of the Spirit that is contained inside of the Mortal Body you're presenting and motivating today. (Rev 21:8)

It appears that some, in their thinking, consider The World's Central Verse for Matthew 7, the first verse. That is not the key verse for the chapter nor for the paragraph, verses 1-5 compose the first paragraph and that paragraph from the sermon on the Mount instructs us not to judge until we get the log out of our eye, live righteously. This is not an option, it is a command to, both, live righteously and to, if you read the next two paragraphs, the commands are emphasized with the instructions of how to live the Righteous Life.

We will not go into the Father's presence by listening to the World nor teachers in the Pulpit that teach Worldly Concepts such as all you need to live the Godly Life is the New Testament, that the New Testament has replaced or superseded the Bible Jesus taught from, the portion of the Christian Bible we have misnamed the Old Testament. If we purchase a good, Chain Referenced Bible this following statement of mine is easily seen when we follow the chains. The Bible, the Bible Jesus and Paul taught from are the Jewish Scrolls, the first 39 books misnamed the Old Testament in the Christian version. The following 27 are God Spoken Life Application Commentaries of the first thirty-nine.

May God bless His Words ti your heart.
