One can read the whole Bible and even quote it, but if they have no understanding of what they read then all is in vain. I'll let the Holy Spirit teach me the things God wants me to learn. Apart from the Holy Spirit man can teach us nothing.

can you say me it?
LEarning the whole Bible is a life-long project.
No matter how many times you read it, there is always something you didn't see or understand the last time you read it.
It is also a lifetime of prayer and repentance.

It's a wonderful journey.

Agreed. The best sermon I've ever heard came from a no-name little old man. He told us he was reading his way through the Bible. He also told us how many times he had read through the Bible already, and he was working on his next time through, for exactly the reason Jim says here.

I forget that number, but I remember it being a lot more than once for each year of his life. He was in his 90's.

My point being his experience showed. This isn't something we can just "say me it." Sorry

Instead of tackling the whole bible why not focus on:
1. Your inheritance in Christ (Who you are in Christ Jesus)
2. Your right standing with God.
3. How to walk in the Spirit.

All of this is easily accessed in the New Testament epistles. Affirming and meditating on these scriptures will eventually lead you to find God's purpose for your life (your CALLING in Christ) - your true destiny.

Thesaintman, look in to something called a Calvary Church. I found them from a radio broadcast. The idea is to teach the scripture by following it verse by verse in the sermons. If nothing else you can probably find something online that has sermons follow the bible all the way through it.

Something to look into man. Good luck in trying to understand it all. :)

Here's our true destiny:
Love God.
Love your neighbor.
Love your enemies.
Do those three things and you will fulfill your destiny which is to be like Christ.

Rom 8:29
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Eph 4:11-13
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers
for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ
