I'm not sure what you mean Brother. What are you waiting on?

Scripture tells us to not forsake the fellowshipping with other believers. This tells me to go to church.

I know. Churches are not really much of a place to find God nowadays and many people wont even go to corporate churches anymore...so what to do?

We go to church anyway. Why? Why could it be important to go to a church where they only tickle the ears and have a money making program?

I thought a lot about this and the answer is in Ephesians 4:4-6 So aside from church politikin' it's still important to gather before the Lord with other believers. We are one body and one spirit...and when we come together and join in a sanctuary, there's not 300 individuals there, but one spirit, one heart lifted up to God in song and voice and spirit.

This all comes back to where there are two or more gathered in my name, there I am in the midst...something spiritual happens in fellowship and all those spirits come together as one. There's weakness as individuals, but as a combined unit some sort of geometric progression of power and spirit happens and there is a quickening that happens also, which is pleasing to God. Those who worship in spirit and in truth.

That's made me wonder before, lol. What if the whole congregation brought their hearts together at the beginning of the service and simply turned their hearts unto God and cried out unto Him...to come preach the service Himself in person. Welcome Lord Jesus...and just wait. No program. No song. Just waiting on the Lord.

Now how long could Jesus stay away from that?! He might not come this sunday but maybe next sunday He would?

And that's why we need to fellowship. Something happens on an unseen level when spirits come together to worship the Lord.

If you walk into a church, and see things which should not be in a church, or the presence of God doesn't seem to be there...wait a minute before you leave to go find a "real" church. Maybe that's why you're there? The Lord did not come for the righteous but for the sick who need a physician. Maybe your own heart is what that church needs to wake it up again.

Besides, critiquing the Pastor or staff isn't why you're there in the first place it is to worship God. When we set our hearts upon the Lord this resonates within our being and is transmitted to the environment around us and affects it. SO your presence is effectual and may be helping even when you don't realize it is.

I have to run out the door to go work, the good Lord is letting me work today, yay!

...just like always, last minute, never late, lol! Praise the Lord!

I'll elaborate some more after work today Brother.

I like going to church don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's essential. After all, a fellowship to me is getting together with other believers like we're doing right now on this forum.

this forum is ok for a variety reasons BUT it should not replace church ..i am going to show you scriptures of the results of going to church and having fellowship .. you can either take the scriptures for what they are worth or ignore them... yes Church is essential other wise God would not have allowed the first Church at Antioch to be formed and this where we get word Christian which was at first made to be a type slur .
Acts 2
When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place. what was they doing? fellowship worshiping expecting something from God something to happen and it did .. then after peter preached look what happened
A Generous and Growing Church
41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about 3,000 people were added to them. 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers.

43 Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. 44 Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. 45 They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need.[p] 46 Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them[q] those who were being saved.

dont get me wrong i enjoy coming here posting discussing scripture yes we fellowship through a computer connected to the internet ... but it can not replace human fellowship .. that my 2 cents and i probably broke the Golden cow

The Pastor And The Glass Of Water
“A lady went to her Pastor and said ‘Pastor, I won’t be going to your church anymore.’

The Pastor responded ‘But why?’

The lady said ‘Ah! I saw a woman gossipping [sic] about another member; a man that is a hypocrite; the worship team living wrong; people looking at their phone during service; among so many other things wrong in your church.’

The Pastor replied ‘OK. But before you go, do me a favor: take a full glass of water and walk around the church three times without spilling a drop on the ground. Afterwards, leave the church if you desire.’

The lady thought: too easy! She walked three times around the church as the Pastor had asked. When she finished she told the Pastor she was ready to leave.

The Pastor said, ‘Before you leave I want to ask you one more question. When you were walking around the church, did you see anyone gossipping [sic]?’

The lady replied ‘No.’

‘Did you see any hypocrites?’

The lady said ‘No.’

‘Anyone looking at their phone?’

‘No.’

‘You know why?’

‘No.’

‘You were focused on the glass, to make sure you didn’t stumble and spill any water. It’s the same with our life. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we don’t have time to see the mistakes of others. We will reach out a helping hand to them and concentrate on our own walk with the Lord.'”

Some people recommend the book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People", to help others improve their social skills.

I never heard of it but I know for a fact that some of the people on here should give it a read. *clears throat* For instance, constantly telling someone in every thread that they need to be in church every week even though they already stated to you the simple fact that they disagree more than once is probably not the best way to win a friendship with that person. :nag Sorry everybody I don't mean to take my frustrations out on you. :sorry

And dumb it down

Not sure how this thread turned into a debate about Church attendance? I'm thinking that wasn't so much what you were looking for. IRL human contact can't be replaced online.

Was there something specific that's bothering you, or that you wanted to discuss?

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that you have to go to church every single week (I have noted more than once that I attend occasionally and I don't even drink coffee I drink tea and I'm not even a huge fan of that I prefer iced or sun tea for the record) and referring to fellowship as a four-walled building. Show me where you believe it says that and I won't argue with you on the matter anymore. Other than that, I am not convinced. :nonono

Never was a debate sir I'm sorry that you took it that way.

let me correct you on something i never said...you have to go to church every single week although it does help as per showing that would be like beating a dead horse. the Church building is a place we go to worship and get fed .the early church met in house they did establish a regular Church in Antioch and this where the term Christian come from originally use as a type slur christonnnnnnn .i showed in acts where they assembled themselves in the Bible days they assembled outside .the church house is a place of convince for us padded seats heat in the winter A/C in the summer . have you ever been to the Old country church ? they had wooden benches pot belly stove for winter heat .no A/C in the summer time. . see the Bible commands us to assemble our selves . in a building or out in the open. even in the o.t they assembled themselves together. for fellowship and worship maybe they sang the chorus. we bring the sacrifice of praise unto the house of the Lord . what was taking place when Jesus said suffer the little Children to come to me .. they was assembled together for teaching and fellowship . the same where he took a few loves and bread and fed the multitude.

in closing i challenge you to prove me wrong using scripture ..but no i never said every week
