I think it's already been established that it's a public forum. :rolleyes
this is a discussion on needing fellowship and i have posted with scripture which is what the rules say . maybe they should be wrote in pencil so they can be changed as they need be. just ignore my post you take this personal ..why i have no idea

I have been a long time ago ....but I'm still waiting.

Hi Garion. Fellowship is hard for me too, (though I don't know what part your needing right now). For me my church fellowship is shallow, only a few people do I know much about, and even less that I see outside of the church service. For me it's always been this way. A few churches I've been to encourage people to get together with a men's group, a golf group, or a chance to go to a sports game. I'm lucky to have a few friends outside of church that are also Christian, because I think I get the most of my fellowship outside of church.

If you're like me in this aspect, then do what I have neglected. Allow time (and possibly money) to go to events talked about in church, whether it's a bible study, or a sports night, or an after church lunch group.

Hope you're doing well.

Fellowship with online Christians is an EVERY DAY thing
Going to church is sunday and maybe wednesday also whenever I make it

But every day I pop in half a dozen forums

In person, I am not very confrontational, like in the Methodist sunday school, I am not going to tell someone they are full of it if they say something I disagree with, of course, the thing is -- the other Methodists are not going to be spouting some Calvinist Tripe or anything that is radically different from my beliefs anyhow...

online I can run into Catholics, Orthodox, all manner of Christians

But I should forsake not assembling because there is really good coffee and donuts/cookies - more than I have time to eat/drink b4 sunday school/during it/and b4 church starts

My Bible knowledge tends to stagnate without frequent contact with others whose Bible knowledge is equal to or greater than my own.

One of the women in sunday school has a Wesley Study Bible. I covet it. I want one.
Green and yellow imitation leather cover.

Garion wants some fellowship -- let's give him some!

I want the green and yellow Wesley Study Bible -- I just do without something this month and order one after payday.

Sounds good Anto9us. I recently got a study bible that has a focus on the history within it. Really intreasting to to me to see what things have been found that correlate or confirm biblical history. What's in the Wesley study bible? (Not that
I need a collection of study bibles, but there are worse things to collect :wink )

You're a Methodist? That's cool so am I! I used to be a Baptist as a child, but I became a Methodist as an adult.

Wesley's commentary notes are in it -- I have an Orthodox Study Bible with their commentray notes in it -- (my son is Orthodox) its Old Testament is based on Septuagint not Masoretic text...

The Wesley Study Bible comes in NRSV as well as NIV, maybe more versions, and you don't HAVE TO get the green and yellow cover - they have a plain black one also - but green and yellow (gold) are the colors of my favorite college team (Baylor Bears) whose football team really went south but whose women basketball team is one of best in the country

Yes, there are worse things to collect than Study Bibles!

Yes, Risen, I grew up Methodist -- I have been brief stints as Baptist, Episcopal, and Unity (not Unitarian but Unity) -- but my theology is very much Methodist/Arminian -- I alway return to Methodist.

At Baylor University, I was the ONE METHODIST in a Greek class of NINETY BAPTISTS!!

Funny thing about being my denomonination (as far as I was aware I was non denominational) I currently go to a Presbyterian church, but on another forum, I've been accused of being a Pentecostal. (I'm guessing it's because I believe that God works in people's lives and can be known by our experience. On the other hand the other forum isn't a Christian forum so saying something like prayers are answered makes them think I've gone to extreems). Still it further encourages me to visit that kind of church some day.

I like going to church don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's essential. After all, a fellowship to me is getting together with other believers like we're doing right now on this forum.

This forum is cool, but it's not fellowship. There's no praying together, there's no physical presence of your spirit and heart. The heart transmits more signals to the brain than the brain does to the heart. They have equipment which can measure this electromagnetic field that comes from your heart. It was said at one time that it went at least (12 feet or 20 feet?), but I found out later that our hearts transmit a LOT farther than that...that's as good as the equipment was that was measuring the field. They don't know how far it really goes yet, but the equipment is getting better all the time, lol!

And they have tested fields of different people and a lot of people and it has been shown that when a crowd of people all become like minded it spikes the measurements because everyone's field interacts with everyone else's field. They charted all this stuff out and did different things to get the crowd thinking different emotions...and there was huge results

Suffice to say, that an individual which walks into a room can easily affect everyone in the room. This sounds supernatural but it isn't and we all know it, because we've all walked into a room before where there was a real angry/sad/joyful atmosphere in the room which rubbed off on you and made you feel...whatever. That's also why sometimes, you already know what someone is a bout to say! This is our fields interacting, our spirits you may say...there's a fellowship of spirits which come together. How close to you does someone have to get, to be in your "personal space"?

If you want to fellowship your spirit that closely to them, you will. If you don't want to fellowship your spirit with them that closely...you probably politely step away a bit to create some distance with them. The spirit fields mix more strongly the closer they get even to touching and laying on of hands. No wonder there's a laying on of hands!

See what I mean?

Very cool stuff! Now introduce the concept of Sacraments into those scientific findings, and behold the Wisdom of God ...

That kind of heart measurements reminds me of chi. But it would make sense thinking of it like our interacting spirits. I like that thought. Definitely something we see when one person enters a room or another leaves. Though I guess no other explaination needs to be given then just that we are social creatures and react with one another.

I'm glad that you guys are OK.

Please don't hijack my thread again

If you are referring to me and Ezra, I've pretty much let it go as well as this thread. I was sort of under the impression that the OP had to deal with church attendance actually, and for that I humbly appologize. :sorry2x

I think that posting online IS fellowship.

I don't understand, Garion, about your 'calling 1-800 numbers'?
