This is not a debate about pre/mid/post trib rapture. The rapture will happen when it happens and not before. But irregardless of the timing, the effect will be the same. Two in the field, one taken and one left behind...and so forth.

I was thinking about it, and I think we all have friends or family that...will probably be left behind. They hear me (us) speak of Jesus and salvation, but for whatever reason dont follow the Lord.

When they notice us gone. ..they will know we spoke truth about Jesus and want to get right with God...it makes sense.

Not only that, but its likely to be during a period of global crises/ catastrophe/ war/antichrist...all bad. They may not have a spiritual clue.

Shouldnt we...think to leave our people a spiritual care package? Bibles, notes, biblical teachings from youtube on flash drives. ..stuff like that? ! Leave it where they can find it.

You know how many bibles I have now? I don't lol. I have my grandmas, my moms, my sisters, and now my dads. Plus a couple of my own. My cs Lewis books.

I couldnt give em away right now...but if I disappeared. ..and my fringe people (non believers) notice Im gone they are going to figure it out...but they will need help.

Do you think thats a good idea to put together a box for them? I do.

The internet is going to go down eventually. When the Antichrist starts making moves, the internet will die...temporarily. And when it comes back online...no more Christian sites or videos.

Better start downloading the ones we like before its too late...

Ha! Noah was left behind and all the wicked were taken :) hey, just saying!

Wow, what would it be like working with only Christian's! It would be the end of denominations! Woot!

I think it is a wonderful idea to want to leave behind some evidence of Christ, your Salvation and Faith - whether you're taken in the rapture or just unexpectedly die!
In the meantime, I'd pray wholeheartedly for your friends and family to come to know Jesus sooner rather than later.

Also, given the events in the news these days and how people on both sides just swallow whatever version of the story is given to them, I fear there won't be much sound logic and reasoning about what happens in those days.

I feel like more people are expecting the end of the world any day now. Is it the times? Is it the news making us fearful? Or is it just wishful thinking for us weary Christians?

We're all going to be "caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." All the saved Baptists, Methodists, Non-denominationals, etc etc.
We'll all be together and "so shall we ever be with the Lord" - I love that. Where he goes, we go, forever.

i think apocalyptic thinking waxes and wanes. my best gues is that when things are going well, going smoothly...there's less talk of the end. right now... the news is intense. the economy is not good. society is divided, norms are changing rapidly, etc. etc. etc. personally...

i wonder if a sense of urgency could be part of The Lord's work in our lives. Even if we don't see Him return in our lifetimes, its good to be close to Him and be good and faithful servant, etc.

i do sometimes think that some Christians retreat into rapture thinking when life gets rough. I've done it. I've seen other Christians do it. Maybe its normal? we're all in the world but not of it, so it makes sense that we'd all grow weary at some point...

and His return is a source of both comfort and concern.

Yes, indeed! I was visiting my parents the other day and there was some flashing lightning in the sky but no thunder at all. I guess it was so far a way we didn't hear it but could see it (it was night). I made a joke about it being the Rapture. I've been thinking about it a lot lately because this life is rough and I'm ready.

Well,
Due to the popularity of the "Left Behind" series of books and movies there wouldn't be any doubt.

And everyone who actually knows me and not just about me... won't bother looking for me.

After the rapture, there will be a lot of chaos, weather-wise, I think.

One reason is that there will be a loss of mass on the earth as a lot of Christians disappear. For instance, if 25,000,000 (speaking conservatively) people were gone (at an average weight of 140 lbs), then that's one and three quarter million tons disappearing. (the large pyramid of Giza contains about two and a half million blocks of about 2.5 tons each or a total of about 6 and a quarter million tons).

So lets say that a mass of about a third of the largest pyramid is suddenly gone. I'm no scientist, but I wonder if that would cause a lot of disturbance to the environment..... Just thinking. Anyway, I'm glad I won't be here.

I think it's a great idea. Sowing seed even after you've gone. Going to start collecting and thanks for sharing this Edward. It would be the most precious thing to leave behind.

Its interesting to think about but like you say, we won't be here! Praise God!

That’s very thoughtful and king hearted of you.

However, at the coming of the Lord, the first thing to happen is the resurrection of the dead in Christ.

  • the dead in Christ will rise first.

Then those who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the air.

  • Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

Once those who are Christ’s are gathered together in the air, high above the earth, then everyone else will be destroyed, including the antichrist.

  • For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them,

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-4

We have to get them saved before that Day.

You are prolly right and I thought about that. But I also thought. ..what if we're slightly wrong? Then there'd be people wishing they had any teachings. It would be a Godsend to be able to find something like that. If it happens as you say, no harm in having left a box.

Jesus only returns once on the last day and the door of salvation will be closed forever as their are no second chances after we are caught up to Him.

John 5:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

2 Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

We need to be out in the world preaching the Gospel of grace as now is the day of salvation as no one knows the day or hour Christ will return, Matthew 24:36, 37.
