Bible Study "... IF you abide in My word, then..."

John 1: 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Rev. 3:5 He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

The Right to become, does not necessarily mean they will become, but they have the right to become.
" Should not perish " is a conditional preposition, doesn't say they :: Will not perish!

Those who seek God and confess Christ as their Lord and Savior, Romans 10:9, 10, through the Spiritual rebirth indwelled with the Holy Spirit, John 3:5-7 are those who have been given the right to become the children of God. These are they who will grow in faith that is Christ Jesus and abide in His truth of what He has already spoken. When we abide in His word we will know how to overcome that of this world and our name will never be blotted out of the Lamb's book of life and will never perish from Gods sight.

It is a condition to abide in His word as it is a condition of the heart for the love of Christ who guards us from evil that tries to come against us as a Spiritually born again child of God. We truly need to abide in Christ as the word is the light of God, John 1:1-5. Abiding in Christ makes faith stronger as Christ becomes greater within us as we learn to seek those things from above where Christ sits at the right hand of the Father as we leave this world behind us as we pick up our cross to follow Him, Colossians 3.

If we are not abiding then we will not be Spiritually fed and soon lose our appetite for the things of the Lord as we fall and become lovers of self possibly never to return back to God again. It's only those who abide in Christ and endure all trials and tribulations that will be saved when Christ returns, Matthew 24:13.

Many come to the alter, but soon waver from it, but it is those who come to the alter of grace and are truly sealed by God who gives us His Spirit, 2Cor 1:22 and remain in the will of God through obedience to His word by applying it to their lives knowing that even when we face the evil of this world God is right there with us as we run the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1,2.

I can agree with you. It reads like that to me too. We are supposed to abide in Him. Now what that means, is...where you go and close the door and pray and worship and specd time with Jesus. Go into his presence. We are...In Christ. He is In us. Now you leave the room...Lol and walk with Him. Your buddy by your side. I invite Jesus to ride with me almost every time, to the store, to work. I think we should be taking that abide instruction pretty seriously. He loves to go to work with me, and He has has helped me at work. You might not believe me, lol but it's true. Darndest thing I ever seen. If we don't abide in Him and constantly seeking His presence to be with us, and talk to Him all day long! Then what if He comes at a moment we've forgotten His presence (He's always there anyway)...I don't know...are those the people who will hear I didn't know you? I try to abide in Him. He makes work easier for me, and I appreciate that!

I agree with all of the above. I always say that I take Jesus with me wherever I go. And, yes, sometimes I forget He's there.

"You who PRACTICE Lawlessness".

IOW, God cannot be mocked. We could say we're doing things for Him, and following Him, and call Him Lord, Lord, but only those who do the will of the Father will enter into heaven.
Mathew 7:21

Those who are sincere when calling Jesus Lord, and do the will of our Father in heaven, are the ones who will enter the narrow gate.

That's why it is so important to read the whole and not just one verse and I know I am guilty at times of maybe giving one verse as I should give the whole.

When one gets a taste of something good that is brought before them they will want more, but if they refuse to taste that which is brought before them then they refuse to taste and see if it's good. Psalms 34:1-10

You're to shallow. Why would someone have a unbelief for the afterlife? People make decisions based upon life experience. Somewhere something in life convinced them that there is no afterlife. It appears if that person missed hearing what convinced them about there not being an afterlife.....set their salvation.
