out here there are more Ford trucks then people..... some good lookin some held together with bailin wire dont forget the duct tape! about like the old cowboys

There are more old Fords on the road cars and trucks, than any other American made auto. I have always said that Fords can take more of a beating than any other American made auto.

When it comes to Ford trucks nobody beats them period end of story. :thumbsup

maybe lewis out to work where i do. the ball joints on the old school style lower and upper control arm on the twin i beam suspension tend to fail know at less then 30k miles or at the most 40k. these arent on trucks that are 4wd. just vans, dump bodys and f250.

i was a ford man till my ranger.:o when i had to pay 165 for my thermostat that beats that bolt story. i will post some pics tommorow of my ranger and all that i have done to it.

i have spent more on it then my ranger on maintance outside of tires and belts. and they are one year a part.

lewis i haven seen that era of ford cars in ages. i remember them well. the three sticks on a tree with the in line six. the ltd's the real station wagons that can pull and also pack alot of stuff into or people.

GMC/Chevy all the way :thumbsup

Can't beat a company (GMC) that literally makes utility vehicles and that is it! Plus where I live they hold up a heck of a lot longer. Fords don't last long around here on the count of the salt on the roads half the year. The Ford frames just don't hold up to the salt like the GMC ones do. Usually the Fords become snow plows after a decade of use and when a truck is stuck on snow plow duty that means it has maybe three years before it's useless.

Everything went smooth, there is nothing like your timing being right. The thing has more power than it did before and the engine is not doing the shake rattle and roll, thing anymore. Next is the rear brake rotors and pads and then the struts all the way around. I think the factory thermostat is still in there so I am going to change it.
