Holiness, prayer, healing, and spiritual power.
That went against all the rulers of Jerusalem.
Please stop thinking about what the rulers of Jerusalem did.
Think of what liberals today do.
Are they holy people, do they do a lot of praying?
In general, of course. There are many exceptions, I'm sure.
Some right here on this forum.

But generally speaking, the left are the people who want to remove
nativity scenes and the 10 commandments from buildings. They're the ones
who removed prayer from schools. We were better off when we started school with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. They're the ones who say black lives matter - yes, but what about babies lives?

Jesus was not of the left. We have to describe the left as it's understood today.

We?
Did you say we?
No, we have to describe how liberals were in the day of Jesus because that's what this thread is about.

Well then we have a problem.
We have to say that Jesus was both liberal and conservative.

He was socially a progressive. He ate with sinners, liked the tax collector,
spoke to women and treated them well, and didn't want to be married so He could be free. He said Sunday was made for man and not man for Sunday - I mean the Sabbath. He believed people were free to save their animal on the Sabbath and that it should not be considered "work".

Morally He was very conservative. He taught that we are to uphold the Law, God's Law. He made of point of teaching that a person's life must change for the better and that we will be judged by our life and by what we do with it.

Is this better?

Jesus spoke in simple words and even in his parables he would explain them. It's man that has taken the simple and made it hard to understand. I'm just a simple country girl that has no problem reading and understanding through the Holy Spirit what has already been written for us to learn from. Some people like milk and some like meat and both are just as saved as the other as long as we walk in obedience to God's commands.

I was listening to a preacher on YouTube today that was actually saying that our life has nothing to do with our salvation. He was teaching that we are saved by grace and are not required to do ANYTHING else to be saved. No changed life, nothing. I believe these teachings are very damaging to the Church. One cannot be a member of the Church, the Body of Christ, and live a sinful life. Jesus taught that we are to be moral persons. God demands obedience to His commands. Some feel this is asking too much. Souls are in danger.

If our life has not changed then we know not God who perfects us daily as we are made righteous through His righteousness. Even those who remain on the milk of the word still have a certain amount of understanding if they are taught the basics we need to learn as written in Colossians 3:1-17. If we follow these guidelines then we will remain in the will of God. I always tell others the best place to start for learning and understanding Gods Salvation is reading the book of John to learn who Jesus was and is in our own lives and to know anyone can come unto Gods Salvation no matter who you are or what you have done as God loves us all unconditionally.

Agreed.
We MUST remain in the will of God.
Some understand this to mean that we will never sin, or those who say this think they never sin. This is just a way to remove responsibility for our sins. We will sin at times.
John said that if we say we have no sin, we lie.
1 John 1:10
As he says, we have sinned, and we will sin.
But we are not to live a LIFE OF SIN. This is totally different and some teachers today teach that we are not responsible for anything as long as we "believe" in Jesus.

This leads me to know that they don't even know the meaning of believe, which is in any Greek lexicon. The church and the Church, are being misled by false prophets.
1 Timothy 4:1
God always demanded that we obey Him. There is no doubt about this.

I'm glad I'm a simple man.
Some of these debates get so deep that I have no idea what is being said and I can't finish reading big long answers and make any sense out of them.

Yes, I guess I'm just a simple man.
I love Jesus and I trust in him to take care of me.
Oh, I may complain along the way, but I think we all do to some degree.

I read my Bible and get great joy to see I am doing some things right.
That I am understanding love.
That I don't agree with the evils of the world.
That God is in control.

I guess that's it.
That's how it is for a simple man.
That makes you one for the General forum here, where us normal everyday folks hang out.

Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:2-4 New King James Version
