GOD TEACHES HOW TO GAIN CONTROL OF DEPRESSION!
I suffered with depression since I was 12 years old! It took me a very very long time to finally come to the knowledge that Depression is listening to the body and ignoring the spirit. And if it weren't for the grace of God revealing it to me I would still be stuck in a dark depressed rut not knowing how to overcome!
I too took medications for a while, but they did not serve me well, because for me, they were just a band aid. The pills help to sooth the flesh, but they don't get to the root of the thoughts that you have to deal with when depression attacks. It wasn't until I took the word of God seriously that I found a way to "overcome" bouts with depression. Depression can be a physical thing, yes, but the mind of Christ is able to see you "through" all things! He came that we might be saved. Not that we might be oppressed!
I have learned to rely on the Holy Word of God to OVERCOME Depression when it attacks.
It is a life long battle! Ephesians 6:11-21 is enough to show you we are in a life long battle against "spiritual principalities" which attack the flesh carnal man. We have control of the flesh through resorting to the spiritual principalities OF God through Christ Jesus our Savior Redeemer! .
We shall overcome! And I have learned HOW to do just that! Each and every time the attack of depression comes against me. I HAVE VICTORY IN the Holy Spirit of Christ working in and through me.
You can't focus on depression when you are focused on the Holy Words of God!
Along with READING THE WORD OF GOD I have grown to appreciate the ministry of Andrew Wommack, he has several tapes on Harnessing the Emotions which I have found to be very eye opening and helpful. I have the set at home, but you can listen on line also. He is that kind to put all of his sermons online for free. I bought this set because it is a useful tool when I need to be reminded that I have the power to overcome through Christ Jesus holy spirit working in me through me!
