Well, it has come around again. Another reorganization is occurring and we are supposed to find out some details on it next week. For those who know me, I weathered something similar about a year and a half ago. I just ask for prayer for God grant me some peace in this process. Reorgs are never fun, and of course, this time around there is definite speculation on how many people will be let go. And should this be an end to this chapter I am hoping God will have something better in store.

Much of my anxiety is coming from the fact that this is the highest paid job I have ever had, and of course, we currently have a family budget that is stretching that kind of thin. I am really just hoping I am able to weather this latest go around and I will be able to keep this job for the foreseeable future.

Praying for you and your family. I'm off to play with 5 year olds for the day. !

Praying Bro that the reorganization goes smoothly for you. God Bless!

.
Bless you Brother Knotical. I went through similar circumstances and God brought me through them all. I would not have thought those all things would work together for my good, but God's eye on me never failed. I'm praying for you to realize the security you seek in Jesus' name.

We got most of the information in regard to the reorg yesterday, and the cuts are going to be much deeper than expected. As my current position goes it will pretty much be gone sometime early next year (January or thereabouts). One hope is that I will be able to get another similar position within this company in a different business unit, possibly Texas. Of course, I will be redoing my resume and looking at all options.

Prayers would be appreciated in this time of uncertainty. One thing that I am thankful for is that we do have some time to find another position before the ax comes down.

Quick update on this. I received my notice today, so the clock is in motion now. As it stands I have 60 days left (59 really) and my last date of employment is the 29th of January. I am hoping for a position with another business unit within Chevron, either in Texas or Utah. My wife would prefer Utah as it would be relatively closer to relatives (pun sort of intended). However, either opportunity would be good, and the company is offering a very nice relocation package.

So, I would covet your prayers that if it is God's will that I would remain a Chevron employee, but either in Texas or Utah.

Also, to help make our impending transition easier, financially, if anyone would be willing to share my shop, that would be great.

Hold fast. God has you in his heart, Jesus in the palm of his hand. And the plans God has for you personally are blessed. Fear not. :) :hug
Holding you in prayer. :pray

Latest development. Tomorrow I have interviews with two different business units within my company. One that encompasses oil fields in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado; and another that includes a refinery in Salt Lake City, UT. I covet your prayers that the interviews go well and that He will guide my decision regardless the outcome.

On the one hand, there is a tremendous opportunity for advancement in the former business unit, while the latter would allow us to live closer to family (we both have family in Idaho).

Answer to prayer. I received an offer for a spot out in Midland Texas with my current employer. My start date is January 22nd. Now the scramble begins as I need to coordinate our move.

We moved 1800 miles away from "home" in MN to WA state back in 1989. I accepted a teaching job as a voice in my head said, "go west young man...." Then after we settled, the voice said, "what were you thinking!" But looking back, the first voice was right. The decision to move has been very good for the family in many ways.
