I just got a message saying that I had an internet security alert when I tried clicking on a news article about Billy Graham. I didn't hear what the rest of the message had to say because I got freaked out and clicked out of it immediately. It also said that my computer could be infected with harmful viruses. Does anybody know anything else about this of whether or not it's a scam? Maybe I should have scan done as soon as my mom gets home just in case.

100% scam. Close the window and hope nothing got loaded into your browser. Do NOT use their virus scan. Use a different one if need be.

Alright thanks, that's what I thought. I had to reread that though because at first I thought that read; "100% scan." Good thing that I did.

These are basically just tactics they use to get you to call their "help" center where they charge you money and get you to allow them to remote into your computer where they are pretty much able to do whatever they want, and charge you whatever they want.

Just close the window and run whatever virus scan software you already have (not their's) and download malwarebytes, if you do not already have it. Between a good virus scan software and malwarebytes you should be able to take care of whatever they may have loaded into your browser, or onto your computer.
