Introduction

Hi brothers sisters and children


As we have one Father we are all family. We are brothers and sisters and need to discover one another. This has been made possible by our Lord Jesus Christ and specially His death on the cross that paid the sins and reunited everyone. Now we need to honor that and live it.


My name is Johan Abrahams. I am from South Africa. I am already 40 years a Christian. But that does not mean much. What says more is that God has granted me grace to grow and has opened many doors for me to enter . . .which I took in obedience to the Spirit. Not every door I entered is accepted by everyone but . . .I am here to discuss it and knows it will be of benefit to some.


We are all gifted and needs to share that in order that everyone can grow. So I am here to see what God will give me to be of a benefit to my growth and others will benefit from my gift.

Just out of curiosity what translation of the scriptures do you use?

I happen to like a particular english translation that comes from South Africa. I find it to be a bit refreshing and without so much an "Americanized" twist on the translating.

thank you brother . . .a family is always blessed to be with his family . . .and we will enjoy family life together . . .sometimes angry, annoyed, irretated . . .but the worthy will stay together through all of this . . .because . . .actually there was a sacrifice for all of that . .which we can never ignore . . .so . . .let us venture in. . . .knowing . . the outcome already . . .and . . .staying together . . .in the "stormy seas" . . knowing . .. the "stormy sea" will reveal . . .the worthy ones.

Thanks for welcoming me brother . ..

The normal trend in translation is to understand first before you translate. Meaning that the newer ones will be the most accurate . . .Having said that it is also true that it is the correct way for everything that needed translating that were written by human beings . . .because human beings understand human beings . .
but:
not so for the Bible . . .as human beings cannot understand the Bible . . and should rather stick with just translating the words .. . without putting in their own understanding . . .so . . I go for the oldest ones . . where this new trend is not followed. . . as I am totally given over to "God's translation"

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

I see that you are a retired Baptist Pastor. I am an "asked to leave, please" Dutch Reformed Minister. Studied for 7 years for that position and then had to choose between preaching revelations God gave me and leaving because of it. So I chose the Truth.

Wow!! You are right, I was a Baptist Pastor with reformed leanings. Because the folk were not used to Reformed Theology, I had to tread lightly. Little by little, this old country preacher certainly was blessed by Jesus Christ to bring in folk who loved the old ways.

The last Church that I was the Pastor, I founded a Reformed Baptist Church. It lasted for several years until the enemy of my soul assaulted my Wife and I with terrible physical problems. The 65 members, went to several local Churches that I recommended. It took about 3 years for my Wife and I to recover.

Wow!! You are right, I was a Baptist Pastor with reformed leanings. Because the folk were not used to Reformed Theology, I had to tread lightly. Little by little, this old country preacher certainly was blessed by Jesus Christ to bring in folk who loved the old ways.

The last Church that I was the Pastor, I founded a Reformed Baptist Church. It lasted for several years until the enemy of my soul assaulted my Wife and I with terrible physical problems. The 65 members, went to several local Churches that I recommended. It took about 3 years for my Wife and I to recover.

I'm very interested in any "revelations" that you'd like to share. I've had a few, and still stick to them. Hey, good for you for sticking with the Truth that you received from the Spirit of Christ Jesus.

Sorry to hear of your problems brother. But it seems it is just the way for us. After my church asked me to leave God took me into working with my hands. Had to work with a pick and shovel, digging trenches, mixing cement, braking up concrete and brickwork with hammers and chisels. And then He took away my wife and children. Then my nation rejected me. After that He took away every penny that I owned. After that he put me in a tavern to work and earning no money. In this situation I am now already for 2 years.
Looks very bad.

But through everything God was at my side and showed me His purpose. And that was worth it. Everything has turned out hundredfold better for me because He also realized His purpose in everything.

In the place of my "nice, comfortable work" He placed the ability to do every other work. I am now comfortably doing welding building plumbing electrical and woodworking and where I was slave to my work to provide for me I am now ruling in that situation being able to look after myself. I work for everybody that needs some work to be done. And there are many because my work is good. Thanks to God.

Where I had a family to look after it is now only me and God. And I found the life Paul was speaking about.

1Co 7:32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
1Co 7:33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

In the place of my wife and children He gave me His hand in marriage and His children. In the place of "my nation" He gave me every nation.

And in the place of my treasures on the earth He gave me that of heaven. And now I also have the ability to live without money.
And the witness of this might in future put me at odds of the whole world. But I do not care. Because I have a witness to live out and to share to whom soever wants to have the benefit of it and walk in it as God has shown me.

So I have already started witnessing and writing and teaching about it. And the tavern I discovered is just the right place for it.
