I know, but he didn't really take away that option for fornication did He? I was going from memory but am pretty sure He didn't.

Like I said, still shouldn't. The power of God is great. Women are too fast to divorce nowadays. They want to be able to slap the crap out of their husbands, but if he lifts a hand to her she wants to run out the door. A bad mindset if you ask me.
Women should not be abusive. That goes both ways. The husband can separate from her too and get a restraining order.

if violence has been done. if it came to a restraining order being needed then she wouldn't be bailed out. I would let her go to court. if she got bail it wouldn't be me bailing her out. restraining orders are also a subject. they are mere a paper trail in case your cadaver is found.

Yes,restraining orders are not very effective.

my wife has lived under that with her ex. she had to flee her home and give it away. she lives in fear for a few days when she sees her ex. he is the only man on the earth that I still nearly hate. when I saw him at a tire store that employed me. I told the manager, you may fire me but I wont work on his truck. and I didn't.

A person can gain a civil divorce to obtain legal protection yet in their daily life live as married..

I don't know wat a civil divorce is but I believe follow answered correctly above you. In this life their will be many trails and tribulation for his people and a marriage can be a test why should the women run or man? If it not be for fornication then I say they should handle the situation wisely

Whenever possible a couple should try and reconcile their differences. That is what God wants.

yes, He did. He limited it to only the engagement period, the betrothal time, before the marriage would be consumated. to the Jews, very well known, their betrothal period was binding and could be (i think) up to 2 years long, and during that time (we call engagement) they were considered married, but not living together nor having consumated the marriage.

Really? So we can't even really use fornication as grounds for divorce anymore? Are you sure about that? That's ok though really, because one should be very aware of the character traits which the other possesses before they marry them. If they wind up cheating later, then one would have to ask themself...did they do something (or not do something which drove the other out the door? If they were kept in a state of being lovingly fulfilled and satisfied, then what would drive them to cheat? If they were fulfilled, but something inside of them made them do it anyway, then we're back to character traits now and one should have been aware of the possibility of them doing something like that and not married them in the first place.

It's not that hard to get into a girls heart and see what she is like. Pay attention to how she talks. Then hang in there and play the cards that you've been dealt.

Civil divorce would be a 'government divorce' a divorce in the eyes of the civil law. Because one is divorced under the law of the land does not mean they must live as if they are divorced in the eyes of God. Sometimes the laws of the land will not protect a spouse.

A spouse can divorce the other spouse and one has zero say..

If a man or women follow this one commandment they would be blameless

To love your neighbor as your self. Your wife was your neighbor before he married so he should love her the same as his self.

No man wants to be beating, cheated on,killed, hungry, sick and afflicted.

So if a man or women do not want to suffer why should he or she cause another to suffer?

She won't cheat with the adulteror because of her husband and how he would feel and the lords wrath.

He will not beat his wife because his he would not want to be beating.

If a man follow these two commandments

To love thy lord with all thy heart mind and soul.

Second to love your neighbor as your self.

I tell you that man is blameless and followed the whole law in the bible

I don't know what to say about that but just to be safe I wouldn't do it unless I caught my wife cheating

Should wife allow a husband to beat herself and the kids? Most of us would say no ( like post # 229)
Husbands and wives have legal rights ( not talking scripture here) a divorce is sometimes the only way to end those rights and make the nonviolent persons safe.... that is what i am trying to say...

I know what u are tryna to say but what I am saying to u is this

The Lord said if a man or women divorce except for sexual impurity that man or women sin

The Lord did not say u can't go your own way.

If a husband beats her and his children depart be like a virgin to The Lord and a mother to the child.

You don't need a man to do that The Lord god is your husband

When the time comes The Lord will show his sexual impurity then The Lord gives u a situation when u can divorce

And if u divorce why look to be married again? If it come a it comes but let your heart be fully on The Lord

What if god did this to put that wife in a situation were she could fully focus on The Lord?

By trapping her with a abusive husband so she can't divorce because he doesn't cheat yet so that women could seperate from him but not look for a new husband because of the law of marriage

Remember if u marry u care for the things of the world . But the unmarried care for the things of The Lord.

See understand brethren .

The Lord tries the minds and the hearts of his people in ways that we as natural brute beast just don't understand.

Some he tries with joy and happiness like Solomon

Some he tries with bitter sickness and illnesses like and afflictions like job

Some he tries by giving them their fear that he feared.

There is a time and judgment for all things under the son

Man just does not know his time. For who can tell a man what his portion is or cup is in his vain life that The Lord gives him?

This is what Solomon was talking about in the book of ecc.

The Lord wants to see if a man would keep his commandments in all times under the sun in his vain life.

It's easy to say blessed be The Lord for I am rich than it is to say blessed be The Lord when u are sick

Thanks 'themessengeroftruth' we are sorta saying the same thing.... a difference is i dont always equate civil law ( laws of the land) with God's laws. The new marriage laws are an example...

I don't agree that it was limited to only the betrothal year. Where is your scripture that says this or even something close to this.
The Jews give rights to divorce for many reasons other than fornication.
Under the Law of Moses, the master of a slave that he has married MUST give her her freedom if he no longer treats her as a wife. He cannot tyrannize her. That is the Law. Check it out for yourself.

Say it is a husband who is being abused and the children are in danger as well. If he does not get a civil decree that is binding forever his wife can run up debt that he can also be libel for. She will also have the same custody rights as he does. So if she goes to the school she can take the children and run away with them. There is nothing the law can do to help him get them back. If he wants them back he will have to find them and then kidnap them back.
This happens a lot and the little children are told stories about the other parent, even that the other parent is dead or that they don't want them anymore. Sometimes these children are taken when they are so small that they don't even remember the other parent at all. Now the children are living with the abusive spouse.

yes, really. and knowing the character traits really doesn't matter in terms of obeying orders; one will just have to endure any suffering that results and not sin further - - - - note that elsewhere in Scripture : if a man sleeps with a prostitute, the two become one flesh. just like a man and wife as described in Mark.

New International Version Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."
Mark 10:8 and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no ...
and the two will become one ... away their wives consider what would become of ... he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in ...

Yeah, that's pretty sad. Even when I was a worldly fellow, I couldn't understand why a man would be willing to pay a woman for that. Men are the commodity, not women. 7 billion people in the world and prolly 5 billion of them are women. :lol

1Co 6:16 have ye not known that he who is joined to the harlot is one body? `for they shall be--saith He--the two for one flesh.'
1Co 6:17 And he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit;
1Co 6:18 flee the whoredom; every sin--whatever a man may commit--is without the body, and he who is committing whoredom, against his own body doth sin.

Once again we see that Paul is talking about fornication. He is not saying that the two are married.
No pre-martial relations or fornication after marriage.

What would happen if she was beating you or pulled a gun on you?

Well if she was beating me I would restrain her if she pulled a gun on me.

My life is in the hands of The Lord not in the hands of man.

I would flee and try my best to stay away from her.

Then I would pray that The Lord removes her from me.

But if it's not his will I would just stay away from her and live like a virgin
