Interesting... I guess a good question would be: why does God allow these divisions to take place? In the Old Testament, most of the times when the Israelites tended to drift away from the right path, God used to send them signs or talk to them through prophets. Why doesn't God do something to clarify all this confusion that the divisions within Christianity have caused? Is it because the denominations are just different in terms of minor details that are not particularly important to salvation? Is it because God wants this division to exist?

here's a sad fact...in the united states at least, one's socio-economic status seems to play a --big-- role in what denomination one will attend, even what church one might belong to. here locally, we have the well-educated and sometimes affluent Presbyterians, the affluent and often rooted in "old families" episcopalians, the middle-to-upper class baptists, and the Methodists, who...as best I can tell...are a lot like the baptists in terms of social class, but they're not as conservative.

i don't get it. honestly, it makes me kinda...sad. remember how marx wrote that religion is the opiate of the masses? Yeah. I do love Jesus. Trust me on that one. Jesus saved me, and He has changed me thru and thru. I am grateful, and He is making me more and more appreciative each day I live and walk with Him.

Having said that, its like...well, what to do? When I was living in a small town in another state, I overheard a young woman in her late teens talking about me, saying I was "living off welfare" and such. ouch. I was actually dealing with physical and mental health problems, living off my (thankfully, comfortable and generous) parents, trying to figure stuff out. I never went back to that church ever again.

Then, another time...I went to a semilocal mega-church loosely affiliated with the SBC, and I got some hard stares and comments there, too. I'm a pariah around here, and it seems that church people aren't that much different than anybody else in the communtiy. sad times.

i dunno. on my dad's side of the family, they're all mostly one denomination, but even then...the more middle class parts of his family in that area went to one church, the wealthy people to another one. is that really what Jesus wants? I don't think so, honestly.

hello Christ_empowered, dirtfarmer here

All those denominations that you mentioned are not the church. There is only one body of Christ with many members and that is the body of believers. I have not, yet to date, found Methodists, nor Presbyterians, nor any other denomination referred to in scripture. The Church is a living organism not a social organization made up of people with like interest. The thing that is central to the body of Christ, is Jesus Christ himself as the head.

If I understand God's word correctly, there is no upper class, or middle class; that is man's designation. With God there is saved and unsaved and where you live or how much money you have, has no bearing. God is not a respecter of persons.

Of course Christ is not divided, but His people are. Many of the churches you listed are not even Christian. And the Christian churches listed all have one thing in common, people have a say in the doctrine of that particular denomination. God has given to us His Word which describes who He is and how everything is to be. People, however, read what was written and say "This is what I think it means" instead of allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture. The result is many different denominations of churches.
As for the non-Christian churches, there is a reason they acknowledge Jesus in some way. No matter how many lies that they spread, at some point they have to say something about the truth, and Jesus is the Truth! Whether they dismiss Him completely, twist who He is to suit their purpose or attempt to deny His divinity, these churches have to say something about Him.

Jesus is not divided amongst the congregations, but the congregations are divided against the truth that Jesus taught. The book of Malachi gives us great insight to why there is so much division between Gods created people.

Latin root word for religion is bondage, which is different then that of Gods pure religion of James 1:27, but that of following tradition and the doctrine of a mans church, not Gods true Church. The Latin root word is religare as re is a prefix that means return and ligare means to bind. Religion tells you what you can and cannot do and becomes socially acceptable by mans interpretations, traditions and doctrines. Religion is what nailed Christ to the cross because the Bible is not socially acceptable to society, if it were then Christ would have died in vain. God is not about mans religion, nor does he recognize organized religion. God is about a personal relationship with you and His son Jesus Christ.

John 1:1 in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 the same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4 in him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5 and the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

It is, indeed sad that the denominations have become so divided but, and correctly, the Churches are not run by men in the Pastorate and many, far to many Deacons that are not called but, yet, are PROMOTED by popular vote.

Some are promoted in the manor I was offered to be made a deacon. God blessed my younger years with a Robust and beautiful baritone quality and after I was saved I visited Churches of any denomination and either sang a Special on Sunday or/and I gave them a concert on Saturday night.

As a result I was promised once that if I would join one Church, transferring my Membership, he would ordain me as one of his Deacons. I was not called of God to be a Deacon! I was called to serve Him where ever He placed me and I was to watch to see what He was doing and to then, join in with His work.

And with , much less, than one in a hundred not being saved, the Church is, generally speaking, no longer operated by God called people.

God allows these things to happen because the first man sold his Birthright to the Devil. But he will not reign much longer! God likes to do things until they are done, complete! In a couple of places, maybe more, it is explained to us that a thousand years is as a dat to
God. And we know from study that Jesus came to establish Salvation about four thousand years after Adam's sin and it has been about two thousand years since Jesus' death as a payment for our sins, that is unto God, six days.

Jesus will rule the Earth with an iron will (iron rod) for one day, a thousand years before He destroys the Earth with fire, making it complete of if you are a numerologist,7, seven days to God or seven thousand to a man.

Before you ask, no! I, absolutely, do not know the day nor the hour of His arrival descending from the clouds. However I do study to know Him as well as I can and the number of completion is dawning and it is a great time to live for God because He is pouring out His blessings and curses.

Is Jesus Christ the Head of all these denominations? Is Christ divided?

Okay, Franszwa, the short answer to your question is 'no' and 'no'.

As pointed out by other folks in their replies, your list is not actually of Christian denominations. Jesus is not the head of religions other than Christian denominations.

While the Church is divided on many things, it is surprising how many key things are agreed on. And Christ himself is not divided.

I have to say, Franszwa, your post is unclear in what you are actually wanting. It seems more like you are trying to make some kind of argument by throwing in a heap of statements. Which unfortunately makes for a confusing jumble. As Jim Parker said very concisely and I agree with, do you have a question you could explain in a few words?

2 Corinthians 11:3
I am afraid, however, that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may be led astray from your simple and pure devotion to Christ.
It is the craft of Satan to make us think and speak of the Divine law as uncertain or unreasonable, and so to draw us to sin; it is our wisdom to keep up a firm belief of God's commands, and a high respect for it.
Deceiving Eve, Satan teaches men first to doubt, and then to deny. Satan's plan was to draw our first parents to sin, and so to separate us from God. Satan appears to her as an snake. Today
(
2 Corinthians 4:4 ) as God of this world he appears in Religions and the governments. To judge and to counsel and to break Gods commandments. Now the serpent was more crafty than any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made. Genesis 3:1 He said to the woman, "Has God really said, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?'" So then, Do not act as satan did to Eve, to interpreting Gods words to deceive your self and your love ones by saying...... did God really say said all of this ?

Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Proverbs 28:9 If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. Please copy this and share it with your love ones and friends.

Our Lord Jesus doesn't have a "Church" rather a body of true worshippers that make up the church. The buildings that people make that they go into is not the body.

Out of the different church's that people attend, only the ones who worship the father in spirit and truth will make up the body of Christ.
