I don't know about anybody else but I still love going to the movies. There's nothing like going out somewhere special and getting a bag of buttery movie popcorn as a treat. In fact my mom just got us free movie passes up by our mall. They literally have a theater right next to it that I often go with a friend to. We love going out for dinner at Texas Roadhouse and then hitting the movies afterwards. I also get an extra large drink that I can drink the next day (usually fruit punch) and some movie candy along with it. My favorite are Cookie Dough Bites and Snowcaps as of right now. Anyway, I was thinking about this since I was thinking about whether or not he would like to catch a movie with me this week. I am a huge movie lover and I have a bunch of places to watch movies right now whether they be on DVD, Blueray, Netflix etc... so I was just wondering if I was one among a few other people who still really enjoys going to the theater every once and awhile? Do you think that they will even still be available in the future? I sure hope so.

That is not butter..

A wise woman once said .. Reba dont go any movies you want to take Jesus with ya to see..

Would not surprise me. The theaters in my town are rarely packed. The ticket prices are through the roof even for matinee.
Why pay nearly 20$ for a ticket not to include snacks at the bar when the movie that can cost a couple with kids over 100$ when that same feature will be available through subscription or DVD in a matter of weeks. And save that family nearly 90$ they can instead use for the family.

Besides that what is construed as entertainment now in films is not so much as it is idiotic , grotesque, or just poorly conceived as a workable screenplay.
And quite frankly, I'm sick to death of Tom Hanks.

I'm sorry, I am a bit confused by this comment. What do you mean it isn't butter? And second question is do you mean that you don't want to go to any movies that you think would offend Jesus or you're not seeing them yet because you are waiting to see them with Him? Stupid question I know. But who knows whether or not there will be movies in Heaven or the New Jerusalem. We don't really know too much about it yet except little bits of information about it in the Bible so maybe you never know. Probably not like the ones we get here though but maybe. This is starting to sound more stupid by the moment lol please don't be offended by it. I'm mostly just messing around.

What kind of butter do movie theaters use?
Movie theaters use butter-flavored oil, which has a lower water content than butter so it makes popcorn less soggy.

Real clarified butter has the same effect. To make it, melt 2 sticks butter in a glass measuring cup in the microwave. Let sit for a few minutes; the butter will separate into 3 layers.

Would you take Jesus to see a smutty movie? I know not all movies are smutty

I still like going once in a while. Just saw the Churchill movie. They're still crowded around here (SF Bay Area).

You know they had the same concern when video cassettes (VHS) came out. They were worried everyone would just rent from Blockbuster and the theaters would close down. Instead, an interesting thing happened. Viewership for movies in general exploded, and theater patronage actually increased, not decreased.

Oh thank goodness you weren't offended by that. Well first of all I hate smut, second of all I would absolutely love just simply being in His presence so I probably would be paying more attention to Him than the movie, and third of all...hmmm...I don't know what kind of movie I would take Him to tell you the truth. I would probably just let Him pick. And who knows? Movies didn't exist in His time so He might not even be a moviegoer anyway.

Yes I remember the VHS. I don't even think that they still make those.

But yes, regardless I still love movie popcorn and around here they have discount offers for tickets on Mondays. By the way, I really think that just being with the Lord, friends, and family in Heaven is all the real entertainment we'll need but,.. it would still be pretty cool to go to the movies with Jesus. Even if He already knows how it ends anyway lol Like I said, just being in His presence and leaning against Him to watch it and being in His company and just spending time with Him...I don't know about you but I would so totally love that.

Jesus didn't treat the pharisees with any respect.

Well, admitting I don't know too much about that, I only know that we're supposed to honor God and respect Him and follow His commandments. Jesus taught us of the golden rule. "Do onto others what you want done onto you." And also about loving our neighbors and stuff like that.

Thank goodness for the Food Network Web information source. That's why we stopped eating buttered theater popcorn.

We haven't been to a theater in years. Phone fixation makes the date a bit of a bother. The last two movies we went to before we decided to wait for the subscription channels to carry the feature of interest had kids either holding up their phones and taping the feature. Or, they were talking on their phones during.
Too much of a bother.
