I'll know Jesus when I see him , it would be embarrassing to say ''you don't look like Jesus I saw in the pictures''
That one looks like Sandy koufax needing a trim to me .. Seriously though, there's a reason there are no images of Jesus except maybe the Shoud of Turin and that looked like a guy wearing a stocking over his face like a bank robber .. You have black Jesus, blue eyed blond Jesus, handsome Jesus , not so handsome regular Jesus, both long hair and not so long hair Jesus .. Scripture says no graven images, Exodus 20:4 .. I have photos of people I know and knew like family but that is to trigger memories of times and places that are accurate depictions ..

Scripture says no graven images, Exodus 20:4 ..

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. It isn't a problem to paint a picture of Jesus, it only becomes a problem when you worship it. But, I see your point though.

OK, you asked and I answered .. Is your picture accurate ?

I also love other kinds of art that have to do with Jesus. I find them absolutely beautiful. If anybody has any Jesus art of their own I would really like to see it. Here is the picture I have of Jesus greeting somebody into Heaven that my grandmother had.

That first painting is an Akiane, yes? The first time I saw this pic, I said to myself, "That's how He actually looks!". Why did I say that? I don't know, I've never had a vision of the Lord. It turns out many people have a similar reaction when seeing her paintings, especially those who have had visions.

Isaiah 53:1-3 says Jesus was not a very good looking man. He was also a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief and was despised.

I found this years ago and never listed the link:
"From analysis of skeletal remains, archeologists had firmly established that the average build of a Semite male at the time of Jesus was 5 ft. 1 in., with an average weight of 110 pounds. Since Jesus worked outdoors as a carpenter until he was about 30 years old, it is reasonable to assume he was more muscular and physically fit than westernized portraits suggest."

The Gospel writers record an account when Jesus avoided violence by an angry mob simply by mingling with the crowd. Judas had to identify Him with a kiss of betrayal. Obviously, these incidents show us that Jesus looked like any other Jew of His day.

What? That simply isn't possible. How could they have found skeletal remains? Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. There couldn't have been a body left behind.

Could do with a haircut and some photo cropping.
We really do get hung up on what Jesus looked like don't we. I imagine some are physically attracted to a man in his prime, early thirties. Not an ounce of fat.

How do you know? Colton Burpo the kid who claims to have gone to Heaven and back really seems to think so.
Oh dear, you haven't heard? Colton Burpo lied. It was all fabrication as he admitted well after the rewards for his story made his family more money than they already had. Read the story here.

Now as for the supposed visage of Christ, I found this documentary at the library. And I'll share it here from YTube.

Here's the image that was extracted through the techniques described in this short piece from the History Channel's documentary, "The Real Face of Jesus" And the excerpt of that documentary. The full documentary was pulled by A&E , the owner of HC.

Colton didn't lie, it was some other kid. Didn't you read the article of the link you sent me carefully? At least, according to him he didn't. That was a pretty neat video though.

I read it. Did you? Colton was three when he had this supposed experience.
From the article. (little Colton's dad is a minister with a world evangelical ministry) "Todd Burpo doesn’t dispute that his son never stopped breathing or actually died on the table."

Actually he was four. I'm not sure whether his story is true or not, but since I have had spiritual occurances myself, I believe that with God anything and everything is possible.
Never mind you were right.
