The Independent: Chilling new CCTV footage has emerged of terrorists casually gunning down shoppers during the attack on Kenya’s Westgate shopping centre last month. In a video obtained by CNN, one man can be seen hiding behind a supermarket kiosk as the gunmen storm the mall. As shoppers run for their lives, a terrorist casually approaches the cowering man and fires a bullet into his body from close-range. In the next clip the man is seen writhing in agony, before a third scene captures him lying in a pool of his own blood as the gunman returns and fires more shots at him.

It is believed the man died as a result of his injuries. As the mother – who had already been shot in the thigh by a terrorist - leads her children from the store using a shopping trolley to carry one of her injured offspring, she is seen being followed by a terrified, blood-soaked teenage girl, and finally by one of the gunmen. The footage also shows terrorists calmly chatting on their mobile phones while scouting the mall for new victims. The al-Qa’ida linked, Somalia-based terror group al-Shabaab insists it kept in contact with the men throughout the attack. During rare quiet periods during the subsequent four-day siege, the Western-dressed Islamist terrorists are seen taking turns to kneel down and pray as their assault-rifle wielding colleagues stand guard.

Here are the six core beliefs of Islam. Tell me that they are so drastically different from us:

1) There is one God.
2) God created angels.
3) There are prophets of God
4) Truth is revealed through written books.
5) There will be a day of judgment
6) God has a divine will that is manifest in the universe.

You can't take the extremists and make them the norm. Their God is our God.

1. Define what is meant by "God" for Christianity and Islam and you will get two irreconcilably different definitions.
3. They include Muhammad and keep Jesus as merely a prophet.
4. The Bible as we have it has been so changed distorted that it is not to be trusted. The Qur'an has never changed. Both assertions are patently false.
5. Judged on what basis?
6. Somewhat debatable depending on how one defines "will."

So while there are points of convergence, there are significant points of divergence. But still, we shouldn't be running around saying that Islam is of the devil, whether or not that is true, or make them all out to be extremists.

You'll need to read the Bible Jesus taught from, the first thirty-nine books of our Bible knwn as the Old Testament. When you di this remember Mal. 3:6a for context and when you do you will finjd the same truth taught in the Book of The Revelation of Jesus, the Christ, it is impossible to love truth without hating evil and Islam is evil.

Yes, just like the crusades, oh and the inquisition, oh and the Nazis. People have committed atrocities while claiming to be Christian too. No human group is exempt from evil and the same criticism you're giving can be thrown right back at us.

I take this together with my favourite parable, the parable of the workers in the vineyard. The reason it's my favourite is because it's an example of Jesus turning everything you might think on its head.

"Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you.15 Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’16 So the last will be first, and the first last.” -Matthew 20:14-16

The key principle is that not everyone gets what they deserve. None of us do. I don't make distinctions based on culture or geography. We are all human and we are all one in Christ. We are also all sinners equally. I have lived among Muslims i the Middle East. My father works with Hindus and Buddhists. There are many good, moral, ethical people among them. Most importantly though, anyone can be led by the Holy Spirit, and if you see the fruit of someone's life, you can tell if the Holy Spirit is at work on them. Remember from back in John 10. The sheep know his voice and they follow him. They do not need to be of the same culture or same system of beliefs in order to be under grace and in order for the Holy Spirit to work through them. We are all one under God and Christ. This doesn't diminish the message of the cross. The grace is available to those people too, and it is manifest through the work of the Holy Spirit.

God is gracious and merciful, and one day all of his sheep will be together as one.

That will be the day when Jesus separates the sheep from the goats; the sheep will go into everlasting life the goats into everlasting punishment, we've been commanded to warn of the peril ahead. Those poor deceive Muslims truly believe in a god, but that god isn't the God of the bible..

There is a rule in hermeneutics that must never, never be violated to understand the Holy Scriptures. No single nor any group of scripture verses can be extracted from it's or their context and be understood.

A reasonable example for understanding will be when we were in Junior High World History Class. So we'll read page 214 and commit it to memory. Because we have not studied anything but page 214 all year, we take our Finale and fail miserably. This is exactly your position on scripture. You have just corkscrewed the Bible into being worthless with you interpretation.

To just be clear, God is good, all of the time but that means He is a Just God and there is no Justice without punishment. I spent a number of years in Prison Ministry, here in Texas, and there are a hugh number of men and women inside the Walls that need to be turned off, just as God/Jesus told us to do in Genesis 9:6 and many other places in His Holy Word.

You seem to be stuck in the Commentary on the Bible Jeswus taught from and you need to study the Complete Word of God. Have you never read the Qur'an? It calls, 164 times, for your murder! It is a religion and true Christianity is a relationship. Jesus also taught that many will say LORD, LORD, we did... and He will tell them to be gone on to Hell because He never knew them.

Everyone will not spend Eternity in Heaven, the vast majority will go to Hell, that is the parable of the wide and the narrow gates.

Please show me how it's out of context. I don't see anything else in the rest of the passage that contradicts that. I didn't post the whole thing for the sake of brevity. I'm not pigeon-holing it either. There are other scriptures too...I just feel that saying the same thing in 5 threads is repetitive. Maybe that's just me. Also... I don't see how the Bible is worthless with my perspective. Without it I have nothing but logic and philosophy. It's entirely grounded in philosophy. I think what may be in order is a large post in its own thread that outlines my beliefs.

I'm not following this: "You seem to be stuck in the Commentary on the Bible Jesus taught from and you need to study the Complete Word of God." It doesn't make sense to me. I don't take the whole Bible 100% literally, and I interpret what is written there in the context of 3 things: 1) The rest of scripture 2) Philosophy and logic 3) The universe God created. I think the reason there may be some confusion here is because nobody actually understands the framework for my system of beliefs.

What I've learned from my discussions so far is that I need to explain what I believe so that people understand the framework that my beliefs rest on.

I also don't feel you're addressing my points, instead resorting to personal arguments. Address my arguments, not my style, please.

One thing to note is that he said we need to love others, which is distinct from loving what they believe.
