CAIRO (AP) -- Egypt's state news agency says the military has drawn up a plan to suspend the Islamist-backed constitution, dissolve the Islamist-dominated legislature, and set up an interim administration if President Mohammed Morsi fails to reach a solution with his opponents.

The agency's report Tuesday provides the first details of the road map the military has said it will implement if a deadline it set for Wednesday runs out with no solution.

Yes, I heard some things about this that disturbed me however. The protestors are largely just civilians sick of his inefficiency etc, I guess, but some of the rebels are said to be truly hardline Islamists. Don't know which would be worse.

It's Islamic rule the people don't want. There may be a more hardline Islamist element involved (The enemy of our enemy is our friend) but for the most part I don't believe the people or the military would fall for it again.

And it's possible the hardliners are wolves in sheep's clothing to assure the people/military don't succeed to oust Morsi. If Egypt can oust an Islamic dictatorship then other Islamic-ruled countries could get the same idea.

Morsi is outta there.

Hamid: Morsi's Fall a Blow to Islamist Groups

The overthrow of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi is a huge blow to Islamic political groups and sets the stage for more grassroots uprisings in the Middle East, according to Dr. Tawfik Hamid, a one-time Islamic extremist from Egypt.

"Tunisia will be the first country to follow Egypt on this," Hamid, author of "Inside Jihad" told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"The collapse of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt will be evidence that Islam is not the solution anymore and it will be a clear message for those trying to use their religion to implement political agenda that they failed.

"They failed in Somalia, in Afghanistan, and here, in Egypt, the mother country of the Brotherhood … This will be the biggest blow in the history of the Islamic political groups."

Morsi's downfall, according to Hamid, came because although he was Egypt's first democratically-elected president, he "betrayed the soul and the spirit" of democracy.

-----

He added: "This is the first time we have seen millions of [demonstrators] daring to say no to political Islam, no to Muslim Brotherhood, no to the system that wants to implement the barbaric Sharia rules … [This] will affect and influence change all over the world."

Oh, I think the people will fall for it again. They are, however their opinions lie, for the most part Islamists.

we shall see.
We certainly will. It is amazing how the platform of the ones who wanted Morsi outed is never mentioned. What is their political stand? I don't for a moment believe that Egyptian Christians are the protestors, nor that the label "secular" could be applied to the population as a majority. Not for a moment. That basically leaves Islamists who are not Muslim Brotherhood. That could very well mean they are just another group of Islamists that no one that I can find is naming.

Some of you may have heard on the news or seen the post about the Palestinian student in Texas that "fought" to be able to carry the Palestinian flag at her high school graduation. Here a 16 year old boy carries an Israeli flag in Los Angeles, CA during a Muslim and left wing rally in May 2010. Not a single voice was raised in protest during the ceremony in Texas, but check out these hysterical "activists" attacking him, grown men shouting "murderer", women shrieking. And look who the police are confronting....the rowdy crowd right? WRONG!! At least the police finally made a protective line in front of him.

not that i disagree with you but with you tube videos we don't have often the full picture. imagine this you go to jail for murder because of video appears that you did murder and no other evidence to the contrary was allowed or presented.

I don't think the protesters are another Islamist group.
Not saying I couldn't be wrong though. But I just don't think so.

Some of the protesters are individuals who lost their jobs in the tourist industry, because foreigners just are traveling in usual numbers to Egypt, Syria, et al.

So if they were fully employed, would this mean they wouldn't have joined the protest?

Sometimes your posts discourage me, jason, and other times are helpful. This one is in the first category. Videos, OF COURSE, don't tell the entire stories. However, when you can see, hear, and watch what was filmed in real time it's hard to argue with the truth of what is seen...for instance, a bespectacled young man nervously confronting a whole crowd of people who are screaming ugly things at the single person with the Israeli flag. The fact that he is bold enough to come alone. The car that pulls up alongside him, obviously concerned friends or family, with someone inside urging him to "get in the car". What he says in defense of the Hamas boat and blockade issue. Also there are numerous other sources that tell the same basic story. (I'm wondering, if you don't mind, did you watch the video?)

It's very hard to try to think it may have been a "made up" scene. The screamers and wannabe attackers certainly were convincing and worthy of Academy Awards if theirs were acts of pretense.

ieran Crump Raiswell was walking down the street in Manchester when he was stabbed without warning...Continue reading the main story

"A teenage gap year student was stabbed to death in the street by a "sniggering" stranger, a court heard. Kieran Crump Raiswell, 18, from Chorlton, Manchester, was stabbed four times "without warning" as he walked in Whalley Range, on 16 January. Imran Akhtar Hussain, 27, of Bracknell, Berkshire, denies murder but admits manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He blamed voices in his head for the killing, Manchester Crown Court heard."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-23184366

Anyone willing to bet the "grounds" will NOT be accepted by the court? Or that the "voices in his head" were anything more than his "god" reminding him of his "responsibility to kill unbelievers"? Or even more likely, that he knows how to play the system?

"Kieran Crump Raiswell was stabbed through the heart.."

http://www.itv.com/news/central/story/2013-01-24/man-accused-of-teens-murder/

An earlier article says, "They are hunting a white teenager aged between 16 and 18 in connection with the stabbing outside the Whalley Hotel pub in Upper Chorlton Road at 2.20pm." Quite obviously, the 'searchers' were barking up the wrong tree on both counts.

BTW, the killer had an earlier case of assault too. "The court case of a man charged with an assault in Notts which led to an investigation by police watchdogs will continue next month. Imran Akhtar Hussain, 26, of Bracknell in Berkshire, is alleged to have punched a stranger in the face in Derby Road in Nottingham on January 4."

"AN investigation will probe whether Notts Police could have arrested a man who allegedly went on to commit murder 12 days after assaulting someone in Nottingham.."

Twelve days earlier, it is alleged, Hussain punched a stranger in the face in Nottingham, leaving the man, Paul Kershaw, with concussion and bruising.

Not much else you didn't already post.
No pic though.

I said that as I do intend to watch that video, but remember we don't now the whole story and why the cops arrested them? I can to degree as im have some trainging in law enforcement and have the eye for that. i aslo have done a lot of training for riot control and how that goes on. we study a lot of videos and also the past if its useful and do mock ups. that is why I said that. I cant just watch that video and not see it from the cops perspective as if I was there. this doesn't mean they can be wrong.

Once Sharia law begins taking hold it emboldens these Muslims. Such examples are the proclamation of "Muslim Areas" without due course of law to make it a restricted zone (Muslims Only), increased threats to non-Muslims and a thirst to increase their power.

At that point it becomes "cool" to harm, maim, kill unbelievers. It makes them "look good" among their believing piers and authorities. It's not unlike gangs that terrorize a neighborhood once they have the power to do so. I hardly think all members of a gang have a strong propensity toward violence but they know to keep their mouths shut and their opinions to themselves lest they suffer the wrath of fellow members, especially the violent.

That's what's going on in London.

Actually there were no arrests on the video. The boy was eventually stood behind a line of policemen, for his protection, I assume. My point was that the screamers and shouters were not confronted, at all. I'm sure the police are trained, just as you said, to see the point in a situation that can be used to control the crowds and he would be the point, being one person. However, the very fact that crowds of Muslims shouting, waving banners that clearly point to desire for destruction of Israel (for instance) in other situations as well as this one, are NEVER confronted in any situation I've been able to view also clearly points to training that leads to just that.

Case in point: Dearborn Mi, 2012-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnJBW49afzg
American Muslims Stone Christians in Dearborn, MI

"This group wasn’t just stoned, however. The Christians had bottles, cans, eggs, milk crates, stools, rocks and pieces of concrete thrown at them, all while the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department stood by, watched it occur, and did nothing. Police waited an hour after the barrage of the group — until they were bleeding and injured — and then told the Christians that if they didn’t leave, they would be arrested.

As Obama said: 'Following the Benghazi attack, {he} went to the UN and announced, "The future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam" and that "Intolerance is a form of violence.""

Intolerance being of course, any form of protest against Muslims. Nice work, oh, leader of what used to be our country.
