Agree... I grew up poor... maybe today on the lower side of middle... I have also known some of the riches people around in the mid 60s I would not trade my poor family life for their very rich ones. tones of money just changes ones problems ...
Yes. Same here. I actually feel very uncomfortable around wealthy people, especially these last years. After my mom and "dad" divorced, we had very little to eat. My mom's married priest boyfriend brought us vegetables from his garden......I hated that man. Another story......

True. Got a bit over-heated there. Apology offered, no codicils required.

Smart kids. Some of those are protesting right now. My 20 year old niece is one of them, a Republican nose-holder who voted for Trump in protest of Hillary. No illegitimate kids, no abortions, and as always a very vibrant Christian. Out protesting Trump's hate after hearing of Bannon at this very moment. Maybe that's why I'm so on edge today. Sorry. Please pray for her safety! God forgive me, she wanted me to go with her.

I hope we all understand that this isn't some armchair football game. This is very real principalities and powers fighting for the right to control this country. I've never seen them so thoroughly enmeshed within each other in my entire life. So much so you can't see which is which at times for the tangle. Thank God we know who wins in the end. But the middle is sure desperately hard to endure.

th
Why didn't you go with her?

And he will be responsible for "his way", won't he? Will you concede that possibility? There will be no more "acting" like a president of your own reality show. Will there? These are real people. He is now the Chief Servant-elect to the American people, not the Chief of Servants to "his way".

Correct?

He's not keeping his campaign promises. You mean, you haven't heard?? Obamacare is now staying, modified, and most certainly will have to be "re-monikered" as a kinder, gentler repub healthcare, but not being tossed out the window like he... promised. He's also dialed his trillons $$ "privately funded/border states/Mexico will pay for it" wall back to... maybe... a fence "in spots". Is he going to be one of those presidents who, previously a lifelong liberal Democrat, will turn his con-repub supporters on their heads to soundly spank them? Once he realizes that the con-repubs and Bannons of his narrowing world think they "own" him, locked up tight, stocked and barreled? "Nobody owns The Donald!" will be his reaction. And you and I both know it.
Judging a president on his campaign promises is done after the fact, not before the fact.

And in your post no. 136 you say this:
No, kids today are not nearly as bigoted as my father's generation was, nor mine. They are much more willing to accept people for who they are instead of by skin pigment, ethnicity or religious choice. Why and how do I believe this? With my eyes and ears. Wake up. I don't know about your area, but the anti-prejudice movement is growing here, not shrinking. Those who don't bother to notice or dismiss it are in for a very large surprise in the future when they run for re-election. Better get ready. When something grows that slowly but steadily, it should never be dismissed by a bunch of old white men bent on keeping their power. Eventually they will be toppled by the very generation they ignored.

Not all these people are "rioting". Most are peaceful, considering the growing numbers. No one was reported "rioting" yesterday in my area. It was passionate, yes, but peaceful. Why bother to watch the news anymore? It's disgusting and hopeless. Instead, I am now doing something instead of watching others push their agendas. So I don't know what's going on throughout the country, but my niece says its isolated incidents. There will always be agitators who will subvert the protesting their way, turning the movement into a looting. My own father used to joke about how some of the Boston Tea Party protesters were the only ones drinking English tea in Boston afterwards! I also asked her, if it had turned ugly, what would she do? She said the majority of her friends had already discussed the possibility, and determined they were only there to protest Trump's hate. They believed anything less was stupid and takes away from the message being sent.

every generation would like to experience peace in the world.
I grew up with a deeply bigoted father. My mother grew up respecting people for their character, not assumed by skin color. I remember the first black girl in my school. I was beaten up by older kids for defending her. In grade school. There's the ideal, W, and then there's real society at work. We all want peace--some just for ourselves. However, we all don't always want to extend ourselves beyond our own outlooks to obtain it. Do we, Wondering?

How could this be....
You have a curious choice of words here. They are NOT "causing" the bad behavior. They are "reacting to" the bad behavior of Trump's prejudiced words would be more accurate. How could this be you ask? How could it be that Christians must fight against evil for the Lord to be heard, seen and accepted in love? How could it be that the founders of this country fought for what they believed to be right and true, for the freedoms we enjoy today, like protesting our government's unwillingness to even recognize the message of the protests? Very simple, Wondering. Because freedom isn't free.

TC
Trump is considering keeping two allowances in the healthcare plan currently in place, called Obamacare.
1. Children will be covered under the parents insurance till the age of 26. (I believe it's 26)
2. Insurance companies wlll have to accept persons with previous health problems.

Republicans have always agreed to the above two conditions.

Wondering
What he didn't seem to want to realize is, like Medicare, Obamacare is a STATE's right, not a Federal one now. He will have to keep much more of it than he and his cohorts assumed. He has been saying all along that he will GET RID of it ALL. So much for that, huh? It's wonderful that repubs agreed to that. I'm happy. How long did it take for them to do so?

I'm talking about people in the streets destroying private property, people who incite these riots, people who are in this country illegally, Muslims who believe in and practice Sharia law, and the so called Americans that hide behind the written word to support these causes.
Of course you are..... I didn't think otherwise.

I know much has changed in the health care world Changed a lot... modern advances are costly...
Growing up we had shots.. Mom put us to bed when we were sick ( talking child hood stuff) gave us fluids ..cooled us if we had fevers.
Kept the siblings away .. a slight busted lip was fixed with a popcycle.. skinned knee needed a hug kiss and band aid
One of my brothers is a doctor..
here is short list of some ER stuff he has had to deal with
Call out at 3 am for 3 mosquito bites Long before west nile ... normal every day colds
small abrasions needing only a band-aid
Children who will not mind..
This is the sorta stuff that happens when stuff is 'free'
So, where were these parents..... who failed to teach their children you're not going to die of three mosquito bites, or a cold, or didn't bother to teach THEIR children to mind? Seems something got lost in the upbringing. Correct? Last time I went to the ER? Can't remember.

There's always going to be "little people" who abuse the system. But, the abuse runs from the provider as well. My wife works for a doctor who's office is in the same immediate vicinity as a hospital. He is an extremely high volume sort a practice so he deals with a lot of medi-care/aid. He had a homeless patient who was injured. He did what he could for him but he needed to be admitted to the hospital. When the doctor's staff contacted the hospital about arranging admittance, they put up all kinds of roadblocks and hurdles but finally admitted him. The doctor's assistant went to check on him and the nurses jumped down her throat saying that they better not send someone like that over there again. The guy's personal/financial life and downfall were common knowledge amongst the staff and they made all kinds of degrading comments and judgments against the poor old man. They treated him poorly over matters that were none of their business. The abuse runs both ways......profits over care.
And they can be brought up on pretty serious charges for doing so, too. One would hope that someone reported their behavior, too. However, it's extremely rare for nurses to act like that. At least in my area.

very young and very old may need a doctor for cold/flu but there is really very little a doc can do for colds/flu.... rest and fluids ... they are viruses antibiotics dont work on viruses
Would you believe very few people realize that antibiotics don't work on colds, flu, and viruses? You are right. What works is plenty of rest and fluids. Antibiotics do work on infections like sinus and chest. Not every cold is a sinus infection.

:hysterical

What if they say, "I promise to put anyone who disagrees with me in jail!"

Don't judge a candidate by what they promise, only by what they.... do?

The above shows that you don't read what I write.
Also, you say that you don't like any political party but it does appear to me that you dislike Republicans and President-elect Trump the most.

I've had enough of this hateful rhetoric.

Wondering

Christians can consider marriage "in the church" more valid then the gov. paperwork ... that would be a simple choice.. I think we should....
It might come to a separation due to the fact that marriage has lost all meaning in the secular world.
Maybe for Christians there will be only marriage in church in the future - sanctified by God and no State documents at all.

Here's what I've seen all too often in life. People who like to play both sides against the middle.... just because they think they can? Or is it because they don't really care one way or another because they are bored stumpless? I can never tell.

Only thing is, I get to decide if I want to play. Nobody can make me! Isn't that grand?! I don't have to do what you want me to do, dear Rollo. I also allow you the same courtesy as well. I've like some of your posts. When able to. Aren't I nice? I don't even mind that you have made me your personal quest. It's okay. I can handle it. Maybe you just don't like mysterious women? Or maybe... you do?! :biggrin

I do talk about Jesus Christ, my Savior and Lord. You probably don't notice that part.......

Hate is never a doctrine. (Not even Trump's.) The opposite of love is apathy, not hate. The opposite of hate is tolerance.

See you around, my friend Rollo. Love your avatar pics of Rodolfo Valentino! Very classy!
