Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life

This thread is dedicated to the study of Jesus as Lord, YHWH, the Lord God, the only begotten of the Father.

To me this is the most important, foundational study in the Bible.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11

  • Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

It is my intent to glorify God the Father, in every way, and bring honor to His Son, by whom all things are created, in both heaven and earth.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15-16

  • For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth

and again

But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

And: “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. Hebrews 1:8-10

  • “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.

I will be adding scriptures in the following post's and hope that other's will join in with their insight and wisdom, concerning this subject.

God Bless,

Thank you my old favored Brother in Yashua for starting this wonderful and needed teaching on our Master Yashua. The more deep things of our Abba Father and His Son, will equip us to be steadfast and unmovable in the days that follow from the temptations of the evil one to depart from the faith and be part of the apostasy (falling away) of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

2Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition".

Hello JLB.

My insight today is:
...Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

God made Himself in Jesus Christ. Sacrificed Himself in His only Son, to show us how to return to Him in perfection.

Perfection leaves no reason to doubt. Without doubt there is no attention needed towards what is obvious, so it becomes invisible. What is perfect is not seen.

God is Truth and Love. Both Divine Truth and Love is unconditional and perfect. What we accept unconditionally becomes perfect. What we cannot accept becomes imperfect. In this regard, perfection is acceptance.

Jesus Christ, through total unconditional acceptance to his Fathers will, showed us how to return to Him in perfection.
...But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;

As mentioned in John 14:6, Jesus Christ is the way and the truth and the life. Truth / Jesus Christ / The Lord is the only Reality, from the beginning (Alpha) to the end (Omega) (Revelations 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End".)

So true Brother.

The whole reason the book of revelation was written to the Churches of John's day, as well as to all who are Christ's, was for the very reason you mentioned.

Many during that time were being persecuted and martyred for their faith by Nero and Domitian.

Most of the saints, of that day, didn't have access to the knowledge we have today, in which we understand that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Imagine yourself about to be fed to Lions or burned alive, and how your mind [influenced by demons] would be working to somehow spare your body from the agony, with thoughts like:

Why am I about to die this horrible death?
Who is this man Jesus that claimed to be Lord?
Am I supposed to just believe some story that others have told me.

If I just bow down to the image of the Ceaser and confess him as Lord then all this trouble will go away, and I can spare my wife and children a horrible death...

If I just do what they say, this will all be over, and I can get back to my life...

Many being tortured, and killed or losing their jobs, or being rejected by family because of their faith in Christ.

The book of Revelation, tears back the veil of the natural world to us a glimpse into heaven, revealing who Jesus is.

The Alpha and Omega.

The First and the Last.

The Son of Man.

The Almighty.

He is Lord! The Son of God!

7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

  • I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10

  • Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

The Second Persecution, Under Domitian, A.D. 81

http://www.biblestudytools.com/hist...second-persecution-under-domitian-a-d-81.html

The emperor Domitian, who was naturally inclined to cruelty, first slew his brother, and then raised the second persecution against the Christians. In his rage he put to death some of the Roman senators, some through malice; and others to confiscate their estates. He then commanded all the lineage of David be put to death.
Among the numerous martyrs that suffered during this persecution was Simeon, bishop of Jerusalem, who was crucified; and St. John, who was boiled in oil, and afterward banished to Patmos. Flavia, the daughter of a Roman senator, was likewise banished to Pontus; and a law was made, "That no Christian, once brought before the tribunal, should be exempted from punishment without renouncing his religion."
A variety of fabricated tales were, during this reign, composed in order to injure the Christians. Such was the infatuation of the pagans, that, if famine, pestilence, or earthquakes afflicted any of the Roman provinces, it was laid upon the Christians. These persecutions among the Christians increased the number of informers and many, for the sake of gain, swore away the lives of the innocent.
Another hardship was, that, when any Christians were brought before the magistrates, a test oath was proposed, when, if they refused to take it, death was pronounced against them; and if they confessed themselves Christians, the sentence was the same.
The following were the most remarkable among the numerous martyrs who suffered during this persecution.
Dionysius, the Areopagite, was an Athenian by birth, and educated in all the useful and ornamental literature of Greece. He then travelled to Egypt to study astronomy, and made very particular observations on the great and supernatural eclipse, which happened at the time of our Savior's crucifixion.
The sanctity of his conversation and the purity of his manners recommended him so strongly to the Christians in general, that he was appointed bishop of Athens.
Nicodemus, a benevolent Christian of some distinction, suffered at Rome during the rage of Domitian's persecution.
Protasius and Gervasius were martyred at Milan.
Timothy was the celebrated disciple of St. Paul, and bishop of Ephesus, where he zealously governed the Church until A.D. 97. At this period, as the pagans were about to celebrate a feast called Catagogion, Timothy, meeting the procession, severely reproved them for their ridiculous idolatry, which so exasperated the people that they fell upon him with their clubs, and beat him in so dreadful a manner that he expired of the bruises two days later.

He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. Revelation 21:7-8

Good morning all. I had a wonderful dread and I awoke to an iPhone message which both pertains to this thread. I'll try and relate it all as I type.

The dream was, the Father was alone the Champion of Creation. Then He had a Son who followed his Fathers footsteps in all things and became challenged by the fans of the Father. Through faith to the end the Son won the Champion of Creation to the Father's glory.

The iPhone message was, whatever we have been willing to give to being a Christian we've gotten back tenfold in peace of mind. Feed your FAITH and starve your doubt.

Without Jesus Christ ...I hate to think how lost in the dark I would be. Christ is Lord.

Jesus is worthy . He fulfills his mission and receives honor, glory and praise out of righteousness and obedience and love .. Not of arrogance, but of responsibility to perform his duty and obedience . To be worthy and faithful , a mighty work for us as sanctioned by our Father, he is worthy , He is our Lamb of God , He is the Lamb of God , He is worthy ..

Thank you my faithful Woman of Elohim (Trinity). Reba, I was looking for a morning worship praise to Yahweh my Elohim when I, like you, have my early morning fellowship with Abba Father over a cup of coffee.

The Lyrics to Adoration are exactly what I need, Praise our Lord Jesus for His faithfulness for supplying my need thru a great Woman of God like you are.

Thank you for being sensitive to the still small voice of the Spirit of Abba to fulfill my spiritual need.

I Love You,:hug

Does anyone know how the tradition of naming the first born son, after the father came about?

Here's a hint:

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-10

  • The Name of Jesus refers to, and represents the fullness of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; Colossians 2:9

  • Jesus is the Name of the only begotten Son of God, which is the Father's Name, given to Him by His Father.
  • The Name above every Name.

I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.
John 17:11 NIV

I am no longer in the world; yet they are still in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, so that they may be one just as We are.
John 17:11 AMP

And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are. John 17:11 ASV

And I am no longer in the world, and they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name which You have given to Me, in order that they may be one, just as We are.
John 17:11 Disciples’ Literal New Testament

“Now I am coming to you. I will not stay in the world, but these followers of mine are still in the world. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name—the name you gave me. Then they will be one, just as you and I are one. John 17:11 ERV

I think:
Name son of Name.
In other words the Name
In this case the Name of God

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Does not say '...in the names of...'. All three have the same Name.

a pattern that was popular in England in the 1700-1875 period:
  • The first son was named after the father's father
  • The second son was named after the mother's father
  • The third son was named after the father
  • The fourth son was named after the father's eldest brother
  • The first daughter after the mother's mother
  • The second daughter after the father's mother
  • The third daughter after the mother
  • The fourth daughter after the mother's eldest sister

A closer look at the name Jesus.

  • For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. Hebrews 4:8 KJV
  • For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. Hebrews 4:8 NKJV

Why the difference in these two translations?

Strong's G2424 - Iēsous - Strong’s Definitions: of Hebrew origin H3091;

Jesus = "Jehovah [YHWH] is salvation"

  1. Jesus, the Son of God, the Saviour of mankind, God incarnate
  2. Jesus Barabbas was the captive robber whom the Jews begged Pilate to release instead of Christ
  3. Joshua was the famous captain of the Israelites, Moses' successor (Ac. 7:45, Heb. 4:8)
  4. Jesus, son of Eliezer, one of the ancestors of Christ (Lu. 3:29)
  5. Jesus, surnamed Justus, a Jewish Christian, an associate with Paul in the preaching of the gospel (Col. 4:11)
  • Strong’s Definitions: of Hebrew origin H3091;

That is the Hebrew name for Joshua

Strong's H3091 - Yĕhowshuwa`

Joshua or Jehoshua = "Jehovah [YHWH] is salvation"

  1. son of Nun of the tribe of Ephraim and successor to Moses as the leader of the children of Israel; led the conquest of Canaan
  2. a resident of Beth-shemesh on whose land the Ark of the Covenant came to a stop after the Philistines returned it
  3. son of Jehozadak and high priest after the restoration
  4. governor of Jerusalem under king Josiah who gave his name to a gate of the city of Jerusalem

Jesus in Hebrew is Yĕhowshuwa`

In both the Hebrew and Greek mean YHWH is salvation.

Within the Hebrew for Jesus we see YHWH. YĕHoWsHuwa`

Jesus is the Name above every Name, and is revealed in the New Testament as the name of YHWH, the Lord.

Jesus plainly confessed that He was YHWH, and the Jews tried to stone Him to death, for His "blasphemy".

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John 8:56-58

13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’ Exodus 3:13-15

Jehovah is not the name of the Lord and is a mis-translation of YHWH the Tetragrammaton.

Hebrew speaking people do not recognize Jehovah as a
Hebrew word, and likely so since there are no "J"s in Hebrew.

If somebody wanted to add vowels to the Tetragrammaton [Four Letters] YHWH, the add these: YĕHoWsHuwa`
