“Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 18:10 NKJ V

This passage is not about children0, earlier Jesus said: ' We have to become like children.'

Do we really have angels assigned to each of us? The mysteries of God are truly baffling until one day .....

That's the way I understand it. Guardian Angels, scribe Angels, and perhaps other types also...but it's still early yet :coffee

Also note Rev. 12:4 indicates there are twice the number of elect angels than demons.

I'm feeling a bit like Elisha's servant when I read that verse in Matthew.
So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “ Lord , I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. II Kings 6:16‭-‬17 NKJV

This passage is not about children0,

For you were going-astray like sheep, but now you returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Later in his life, Peter realizes it was Jesus’s teaching about His children (His sheep, those of us whom He oversees). Even the 1 that strays will be found:

What man from- among you having a hundred sheep and having lost one of them, does not leave-behind the ninety nine in the wilderness and proceed after the one having become-lost until he finds it? And having found it, he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And having come to the house, he calls-together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice-with me, because I found my lost sheep!’ I say to you that in this manner there will be joy in heaven over one sinner repenting more -than over ninety nine righteous ones who have no need of repentance.

I like that story. Good point.

Angels are essentially “ministering spirits,” (Hebrews 1:14) and do not have physical bodies like humans. Jesus declared that “a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have” (Luke 24:37-39).

The Bible classifies some angels as “elect” (1 Timothy 5:21) or “holy” (Matthew 25:31; Mark 8:38). All angels were created to be holy, enjoying the presence of God (Matthew 18:10) and the beauty of heaven (Mark 13:32).

Other angels oppose God under the leadership of Satan (Isaiah 14:12-20) whom even Satan is a created spirit of God that is why God could never destroy him because a spirit can not die. (Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1: 6; Ephesians 6:12). We often call these types of angels demons for which an everlasting fire is prepared by God for these angels.

Angels have no gender (Matthew 22:30) and are innumerable (Hebrews 12:22). They are incarnate in human form at times (Genesis 18:2-8) for the purpose of ministry. Angels also express emotions (Luke 15:10), are wise (2 Samuel 14:20) and powerful (Psalms 103:20).

The unnamed angels who appear most often in Scripture carry out a variety of tasks—all designed to serve God…

Worship and praise - This is the main activity portrayed in heaven (Isaiah 6:1-3; Revelation 4-5).

Revealing - They serve as messengers to communicate God's will to men. They helped reveal the law to Moses (Acts 7:52-53), and served as the carriers of much of the material in Daniel, and Revelation.

Guiding - Angels gave instructions to Joseph about the birth of Jesus (Matthew 1-2), to the women at the tomb, to Philip (Acts 8:26), and to Cornelius (Acts 10:1-8).

Providing - God has used angels to provide physical needs such as food for Hagar (Genesis 21:17-20), Elijah (1 Kings 19:6), and Christ after His temptation (Matthew 4:11).

Protecting - Keeping God's people out of physical danger, as in the cases of Daniel and the lions, and his three friends in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3 and 6).

Delivering - Getting God's people out of danger once they're in it. Angels released the apostles from prison in Acts 5, and repeated the process for Peter in Acts 12.

Strengthening and encouraging - Angels strengthened Jesus after His temptation (Matt 4:11), encouraged the apostles to keep preaching after releasing them from

Pray this helps :)

It’s an absolutely fascinating subject. The only thing I’m sure about on this subject is that we have no idea of the splendour, wonder and magnitude of Heaven and its inhabitants, words like awesome, fantastical don’t even begin to cut it!

Thank you for his glory for this really inciteful study on a subject that actually is only brushed alongside in the Bible. None of the passages are specifically about angels. We've got so much to learn when we eventually go upstairs!

We could never fathom that of God's glory until will are with Him and all the angels before Him. We might be able to paint a picture, but never capture the true essence.

We can't even visually see the glory of God and live. I wonder if part of the reason is that if we did, we would be so distraught with the realization of our own evil that we would literally die.

Just supposing out loud, I guess.

That's a possibility. I see it like looking directly in the sun and burning out your retina as the brightness is to great for a mortal to look at. When we become immortal then we will see God in all the brightness of His glory.

Hebrews 13:1-2 also is worth mentioning for angels.

"Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."

I didnt know it that He sent an Angel to my garage sale until after he was gone. I *think* I was being restrained from recognition...but he instantly began acting like no normal garage sale customer ever acted and I picked up on that, but not on him.
Garage sale customers do not talk the price up. They don't ask, how much do you need? (Repeatedly).

Only after he left and my hand went in my pocket and felt the 2400 dollar wad and I said Praise the Lord, did I understand that I had been visited by an Angel.

I think God can also be very subtle at times in sending an angel before us unaware. Years ago before I went on disability it was only my husbands income we were living on. We were barely making ends meet, but wanted for nothing. I was sitting on the porch when this guy walked by. His clothes were worn and he was carrying a backpack. He smiled as he started walking by and I struck up a conversation with him.

I noticed a Bible in his backpack and we started a discussion about Jesus and he told me his story about wondering around all over the place as he had no place to call home. He would bath and wash his clothes in the river and hunt for his food. This is the odd part as I was home alone and would never invite a stranger into our house, but there was just something about him that I felt safe from him doing me any harm. I invited him to come in and take a shower and I washed his clothes. Meanwhile my husband came home and we invited him to stay for supper. After supper he thanked us and we had prayer together before he left. I felt led to help him even though we had very little. I gave him some money and some toiletries to help him out.

It would not be until a year later this man came back walking past our house and again we struck up a conversation. We were getting ready for a revival and I asked him if he wanted to join us and he gladly accepted. It was held in a park so you could see everything around you. This guy was standing beside me and I turned to talk to the Pastor to introduce them and when I turned around this man simply disappeared. I would have noticed him walking away in any direction, but he was nowhere in sight. I just knew at that moment he was an angel sent by God to test our charity towards a stranger. We didn't have much, but gave him what we could and I never saw that man again.

Just like Edward, you never know when you are entertaining and angel.
