Judas Did The Unthinkable – As Will Many Other People

When Judas was about to betray Jesus he did the unthinkable – he didn't ask God (hint: in the person of Jesus Christ) for mercy. All throughout the bible many people are caught doing evil, and many people admit to their evil, but only David admitted to his sin with Bathsheba and then sought mercy from God.

Jesus is called the son of David simply because Jesus, like David, asked God the Father for mercy for all of those who crucified him. When we look at Adam and Eve they both admitted to their sin but never asked God for mercy. When Cain murdered Abel he never asked God for mercy (hint: he did plead to have his curse by God lessened but never sought forgiveness). Even Satan will one day admit that Jesus is God but will never ask God for mercy (hint: he will never admit to any wrongdoing).

People in the Old Testament used animal sacrifice as a way to admit to their own sin while never seeking mercy from God since they believed that their animal sacrifice was sufficient to restored them back to holiness (hint: this continues today as religious rituals). An animal can't talk therefore an animal can never ask God to extend mercy for all those who participated in its sacrifice.

The difference between the Old Testament and New Testament is that while many people in the Old Testament admit to their sin (hint: the Mosaic Law – 10 Commandments) they never asked God for mercy. Jesus Christ came to this world to be our redeemer and to plead to God the Father for mercy for all those who believe in him, as he did on the cross.

It is no small matter that Jesus came from the line of David since David not only admitted to his sin but pleaded to God for mercy. That plea for mercy extended down through the line of David until it was ultimately fulfilled by God's own son Jesus Christ!

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is called the son of David, and you'll receive not only forgiveness for your sin but mercy from God leading to life eternal with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit in heaven forever. (hint: get baptized)

God Bless

Ok Buddy, what you've reported is true. Asking for mercy after we've sinned and asked forgiveness, repentance, as I see it, sets the situation for mercy if asked for it.

Curious question here. Are you 'hinting' that being baptized is how we seek mercy? Are you speaking of physical water baptism?

Like the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. Only one asked God for mercy.

And who was it, a blind man or something? who said ' Son of David have mercy on me, and Christ said 'what do you want from me' and he said ' i want to see' and he said go your faith has healed you, or something like that. The first thing he said was have mercy on me and Jesus said your faith has healed you.

I was watching this video on the true name of Jesus and the comments were full of peoples arguing like fools, and i read all the comments, and i was thinking about it 'god have mercy on me', and its the truth, thats what justifies. All these people arguing over the name of Jesus thinking his name must be known perfectly, or they know the truth, or you must no the truth , yet no one can not argue and just stay silent and say 'god have mercy on me' because they like to boast or are afraid God will judge them if they dont know the truth perfectly, or try please God but hes not a respector of man, but if they just say 'god have mercy on me', God is merciful and they are justified.
