Greetings in Jesus' name!
I just joined here, but it's not the first Christian forum I've been involved with. One of them got taken over by trolls and Judaizer's, and one is so divided into different segments it's hard to keep track of what I said where.
I'm 55-1/2, and feeling it a bit more everyday! I normally don't associate with any group that would accept someone like me as a member, but in this case I'll make an exception.
I've been a Christian since April 3rd, 1983. How do I know that? Easy. I was there when it happened (to quote Mel Trotter).
I like model railroading and RC aircraft. Yes, I still play with toy trains and planes. I may grow old, but I refuse to grow up! My sense of humor is sort of cross between Bill Murray and Robin Williams. I still love the Ernest movies and Veggie Tales. If you're too old for those, you're just too old. Before my wife and I got married, my best man asked her "Are you sure you know what you're getting into?" It's been 21 years now and she hasn't kicked me out yet, so I guess she's adapting.
I have a rack of baby back ribs in the oven and I can smell them cooking, so it's about supper time! Yes, I know, pork. How sinful. At least according to the Judaizer's. Don't tell them, OK?

hello flyboy2610, dirtfarmer here

Scripture states that if you see someone hungry you are supposed to share, so when can I expect my share of baby backs? Oh yeah, before I forget and float away in my own saliva, hello and welcome.

I am a gentile, so it is OK for me to eat pork.

Christians are NOT gentiles We are not heathens

Probably from G1486; a race (as of the same habit), that is, a tribe; specifically a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually by implication pagan): - Gentile, heathen, nation, people.

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

You are correct, I should have stated that I am not Jewish, so it is OK for me to eat pork. According to scripture I am a saint and it is OK for saints to eat baby back ribs.

I, at this time, will leave this post as I have been attacked by sudden hunger for ribs.

I aint no heathen .. :hips
The word isnt limited .I'm not going to say im.not a jew to my kin.we have 32 graves in one city .all buried in the Jewish section.I'm sure we have room for ethnicity in the bible and salvation.

I'm not kosher nor have I ever been, but plenty of jews are and are saved .one can celebrate the feasts and believe

Vakaria 13 applies only to those who:
1) under the mosaic law,covenant
2) those who wish to honor God by such but the compulsary unclean is no longer the case.see acts 5

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

My mouth is flowing like the Mississippi River with saliva!!!!! I think I could eat 3 racks in less that a minute, then I would have to slow down on the next rack so that I could taste them.

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

The old southern saying:" Aw, Y'all done went and done'it now" , biscuits and sawmill sausage milk gravy. Where is the streak-a-lean to go with that? I think that I'll just have to go and kills hogs now.

hi, and welcome. i hope you enjoy your time here and that we'll all contribute to your walk with The Lord. This forum is well-moderated and most of us are just...people, trying to get it right.

Again, welcome to CFnet.

Welcome Brother. If you think being in the fifties range is tuff, wait until you hit the seventies! I am 72 and I was awarded with MS because of the Spraying of the foliage and when I was diagnosed several years back the MRI showed there were 64 scars on my brain and that really surprised me, I had always was told That because I did three tours in Vietnam that I had no Brains.

I'm receiving excellent reviews on the book I wrote, so if you enjoy reading this link is to the book. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...&field-.keywords=A+Young+Man's+journey+to+War
it is $2.99 for the download-able file or $11.99. If you care to read it you will know more about me than I usually talk about. Because I spent over forty years trying to forget and to rid myself of the nightmares, I wrote it as Historical Fiction. I point out in the Introduction that somebody in our unit did every act the central character is recorded doing. So, if anybody is bothered, I am the only person they can attack.

Hope you enjoy the Fellowship here.

Thanks for the welcomes, everybody! I appreciate it!
I once attended a church here in Lincoln for 3 weeks in a row. In that time, not one person came up and said "HI! Glad you're here!" It was like I was invisible. Or diseased with the plague..........
I always try to make others feel welcome. If I see someone new at church, I try to make it a point to say hi to them.
After all, if we have to spend eternity together, may as well make friends now!

th1b.taylor,
Thank you for your service to our country. I know most Vietnam vets weren't too well received when they came home. I was 13 in 1975. I put on the uniform in the summer of 1980. Got injured in basic, they sent me home to heal. When I tried to go back in, found out I had lost too much of the hearing in my left ear. Permanent 4-F. I tried, though.
I'm sure you're familiar with the Bellamy Brother's song "He's an Old Hippie". At 2:05 in this video, there's a young man, probably 18 at the most. I have no idea who he is, or if he made it home, but I've felt led to pray for him that he will come to Christ if he hasn't already.

I try to be attentive to the Spirit, and pray for those he lays on my heart. Sometimes I'll think of someone from my past I haven't thought of in years and say a prayer for them. Maybe they are having a difficult time at that moment.
Someone once said "Even if you can't do anything else for someone, you can always pray for them." I try to do that.
Edit: (I only posted a link to the video. I didn't know it would come up like that. I hope it's alright.)
