God holds us accountable for our deeds.

God holds us accountable for our deeds, and He holds Jesus accountable for our sin. (If we are born again).
Isn't that a unique situation?
Such is the case and the wonder of the CROSS.

And a person says...."yeah, but, if you believe that, then you are giving yourself a license to sin".
And a person responds....."absolutely not"......but instead, im giving Jesus The CHRIST the credit for my sanctification, justification, redemption, atonement, and salvation".
I simply refuse to take any credit away from the God of the universe, the Father of all creation, and the ABBA of The Christ, and come on a public Christian forum, and actually try to lead people to believe that i am responsible for God's Grace.
I would not , ever, presume, against the Blood of Jesus, by pretending that im in charge or responsible for keeping myself saved.
NO NO NO.
I wont be the one here, or on any Christian forum, or in any pulpit, verbally or otherwise substituting my own self righteousness for the Mercy of God.
Not as long as there is a God, a Cross, and a Savior who are all listening to my intent and watching my thoughts.
So, in that case, I'll continue to give my Savior and KING all the credit He earned on the cross, and will never ever do despite to the Spirit of Grace by claiming that i have to do anything to save myself, or keep myself saved.
I know who Saves, and i know how He did it., and i can assure you that He didnt need my help on the Cross, or after it, to get me to heaven,...... not me, or anyone else.

Then a joker says...."but if Romans 4 is true, and God does not imput (hold a believer accountable) any longer for their sin...
If that is TRUE.....If the bible is not LYING......then what about all those "works of the flesh", that we could commit.
Do we just get away with it?
Umnmmmmm HUMMM.
Are you kidding me?
Listen up, .... it is a fact that we are no longer under the law , and therefore, cannot be judged for our sins, as this is a part of the finished work of Jesus on the Cross......"we are REDEEMED from the curse of the law".....which means we are free from the JUDGEMENT DUE US for our sin, = AFTER WE DIE.
However, ither before we are saved or after.....if we participate and willfully so in "works of the flesh" behavior, then a spiritual law comes into effect..
"Sowing and Reaping"..
And this fact of God's dealing with us, means, that we will suffer on the EARTH, for our behavior, or we will be blessed by it.
"Choose this day whom you will serve."...God or your flesh.
So, it is a fact, that the Blood Atonement cannot be removed from you if its has been applied, but, if a person, subsequent to salvation decides to fall back into the world and wallow in the pig's den of the flesh, then they will find themselves dealing with Hebrews 12:6, sooner then later.
And this scripture comes into effect anyway, on behalf of all the born again, but it comes into effect much worse, if a believer will not stop backsliding.
And by the way...."backsliding" in the New Testament sense, if only applicable to an eternally redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb Son of God, as only an eternally redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb Son of God can do it.
See that?
So, if they wont stop with their flesh and carnality, then they will eventually become a victim of a seared conscience, and as Paul says,.."they will die".
Thats how it works.
Christianity is not tinker toys.
Its actually not simply fun and games and goosebumps and being entertained by the "worship team" on Sunday morn.
So, Just how serious should you take your relationship with God??
= Just as seriously as Jesus suffered and died for you, so that you could have this eternal relationship with God, as That is how seriously God esteems His Gift of Eternal Grace.

You might as well just embrace it now in this life while you can do something about it.

Well said brother ! No matter how many verses we quote or hide behind each of us will stand before our Lord on the Day of Judgement and will be judged according to our deeds.

This truth will not change by quoting other scriptures.

You might as well just embrace it now in this life while you can do something about it.
You have explained very well the message of the Lord. He expects us to pick up the cross , deny the flesh daily and follow Him. My pet peeve with many teachers of the Word is how can they guarantee salvation to their flock just by believing the gospel. That's just the wedding, now starts the marriage! I believe the teachers conveniently took out obedience from SALVATION, since it's so much easier to just believe and so much harder to follow our righteous Lord, shunning the temptation of flesh world and devil. Most definitely we are under grace and it's blood of the Lord which washes away the sins of every remorseful heart. That being said we need to remember that of its our faith in Christ saves us then that faith must manifest good deeds, else it's dead. As James said in his epistle. The other profound truth is that nobody knows whose name is in the Lamb's book of life ( se Revelation) Therefore how can anyone assume or guarantee Salvation? First our deeds will be scrutinized as we stand before the judgment seat. I therefore highly encourage all to diligently follow Christ's commands . And His greatest command was to Love all. Judge none . May the Lord's love be in all of us that we may abide in His love that our joy may be made full. Finally it's all about Jesus. It's always about Him.....it will always be about Him
Coz we blew it. He redeemed. Whosoever is saved will be by His grace alone . Let's keep your noses clean guys ....that's the caveat . Coz he will come as " thief in the night"

Amen.

Sanctification is the process of being made holy.

With holiness no one will see the Lord.

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
Hebrews 12:14

As for me, the Lord has delivered me from many ungodly things through repentance.

It takes our effort of obeying the scriptures and the leading of the Holy Spirit together with God’s grace and mercy to be cleansed of ungodly habits.

Most Christians are not taught correctly about sanctification and consecration because the Churches they attend have Pastors who have wrong theology they learn from “seminary”.

Amen borother Amen you speak the truth and it resonates with my heart and soul. Prayerfully teachers of the precious Word of God will exercise great caution and diligence before teaching. And correct their theology as you rightly mentioned. It's time pastors and teachers taught their flock correctly. And even before that they themselves learned the Word in a cotrect and concise manner. For receiving the full grace of the Lord we must also follow Him. Obedience is very important
Didn't the Lord remind us in
Matthew 5:13
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot."
Let us then friends not lose our saltiness .... God bless all. May all come to the knowledge of the Truth . That truth is Christ Jesus Himself

Isn't that a unique situation?
Such is the case and the wonder of the CROSS.

And a person says...."yeah, but, if you believe that, then you are giving yourself a license to sin".
I'm always amazed to hear that one. But sadly, there are a number of Christians who actually think so. But such people simply fail to understand GRACE.

Not one single human being EVER earned or deserved salvation. Salvation is by grace. Yet, how many well meaning Christians believe that salvation involves lifestyle or behavior changes.

The issue of changing lifestyle or behavior FOLLOWS salvation. It's NEVER part of salvation.

If lifestyle or behavior changes is necessary for salvation, then we are saved by our own actions. Which is just another way of describing salvation by works. Which is what the Pharisees of Jesus' day thought and believed.

No. We are saved by grace through faith. Not of works. Eph 2:8,9 says so explicitly.

Now, as to this so-called "license to sin" nonsense. No one needs a license. We're all born with a sin nature. No license required to sin.

What we need is a NEW nature, through regeneration, one controlled by the Holy Spirit, in which we cannot sin. 1 John 3:9

Each of us will stand before our Lord on the Day of Judgement and will be judged according to our deeds.

This truth will not change by quoting other scriptures.
Kidron didn't deny this truth. He simply put it in perspective.

It seems many do not understand why people will be judged for their behavior. Most erroneously think it will be to determine where they spend eternity. But that's simply false, as no Scripture says that. Not even close.

Every believer will be judged for whether they will be rewarded in eternity. Rev 22:12.

Does the believer want to reign with Christ? Rom 8:17b, 2 Tim 2:12 Then they HAVE TO endure in the faith. Nothing about staying saved here.

eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;

God who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8
Those who continue to read what Paul wrote also know this:
9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.
10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;
11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Rom 3

Then, 3:20 - Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

So, it should be obvious that Rom 2:6-8 only teaches that one would have to be perfect in order to obtain eternal life on their own. And that simply isn't possible.

In fact, NO ONE can fulfill Rom 2:6-8. Because we are all sinful and have fallen short of God's glory.

That's WHY Jesus Christ came to earth. To save the lost. We are all born lost.

It seems many do not understand why people will be judged for their behavior. Most erroneously think it will be to determine where they spend eternity. But that's simply false, as no Scripture says that. Not even close.

Eternal life is most definitely the issue.

I said:

Eternal life is most definitely the issue.
Absolutely not.

This is what the Bible teaches about how to HAVE eternal life:
John 3:15-16 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. 16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

John 6:40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

John 6:47 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.

1 Tim 1:16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

There is nothing about lifestyle or behavior in any of these verses that plainly say how one possesses etrenal life: through faith.

God who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;

God who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

That's WHY Jesus Christ came to earth. To save the lost. We are all born lost.

Anyone who thinks they are able to fulfill Rom 2:6-8 to receive eternal life will remain lost and end up being cast into the lake of fire for not possessing the free gift of eternal life. Rev 20:15.

So, it should be obvious that Rom 2:6-8 only teaches that one would have to be perfect in order to obtain eternal life on their own. And that simply isn't possible.

Sanctification is a process.

A process of being transformed into His image.

A process of becoming Holy.

Romans 2:6-8 is written to Christians, and denotes which ones will receive eternal life and which ones will receive the wrath of God.

Those who embrace the process and seek to be made holy (sanctification) are those who will receive eternal life.

This is called obeying the truth, or walking in truth.

Those who choose the remain immoral and spend their time gratifying the flesh and practicing the works thereof, will be condemned.

This is called obeying unrighteousness.

God who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

Let’s be those who seek to obey the truth and walk according to the Spirit of Truth, and receive eternal life.

Let’s be those whose faith works by expressing itself through acts of Love.

Sanctification is a process.
Yes, it is. But sanctification isn't salvation, nor how one obtains eternal life.

A process of being transformed into His image.
Only those who have believed in Christ, and therefore are born again with a new nature and the indwelling Holy Spirit can be transformed into His image.

A process of becoming Holy.
Again, not how one becomes saved.

Romans 2:6-8 is written to Christians, and denotes which ones will receive eternal life and which ones will receive the wrath of God.
No it doesn't. Which I've shown from Scripture. Rom 3:9, 20,23

Those who embrace the process and seek to be made holy (sanctification) are those who will receive eternal life.
Unscriptural. I provided 10 verses that plainly say that one has eternal life through faith.

This is called obeying the truth, or walking in truth.
OK. Still doesn't support your works salvation system.

Those who choose the remain immoral and spend their time gratifying the flesh and practicing the works thereof, will be condemned.
This appears to indicate that Christ's death for our sins was meaningless then. Good to know.

This is called obeying unrighteousness.
Every time you or I sin, we're obeying unrighteousness.

Paul taught that righteousness is INPUTED or CREDITED on the basis of faith, not works. Just read Romans 3 and 4 for the details.

It seems your view is that one is saved by their own efforts of "continually doing good".

The best that man can do is NOT the righteousness of God, and will NEVER save anyone.

I said:
"So, it should be obvious that Rom 2:6-8 only teaches that one would have to be perfect in order to obtain eternal life on their own. And that simply isn't possible."

Could you point to the word “perfect” or “perfection” in the following verse.

God who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

There are two different types of believers being described in this verse, with a common agenda.

Each is obeying.

Each one is seeking...

One is seeking honor and immorality, in which they are obeying the truth, the Spirit within.

The other is obeying unrighteousness, which springs from the flesh, and the sin dwelling in their body.

No mention of being perfect.

Here is what the word teaches us about who will receive eternal life.

  • eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
This is plain and clear and must be reconciled into any sound doctrine.

God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

Those who choose to ignore and disregard the process of sanctification, while continuing to obey unrighteousness will end up receiving God’s wrath instead of receiving eternal life.

  • but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath

You understand the Lords expectation better than many teachers and pastors who guarantee salvation to all including those who believed in the Lord as Savior but continued to live a sinful lifestyle.
I wish for those teachers to study your posts along with those of sister wondering and others who understood the message correctly. No servant is greater than the master . If the master Lord Jesus elected CONTINUALLY to-do the will of God , so will we have to -- deny our flesh daily and follow Him. As the Lord was crucified we will have to get. Crucified too (emotionally). If mere faith was enough why did every apostle chose to Obey Lord to the point of death.... literally. They didn't have to . They were covered by Christ's blood . Yet they chose to be obedient and laid down their lives (John's life was spared to write book of Revelation, I believe ) for the gospel . Are we greater than them? Each deed of ours will be closely scrutinized by the Lamb. I'm so happy that He will do that . We must be accountable for our deeds. God bless all

How would the words "patient continuance in doing good" mean anything less than perfect? Please answer.

Here is what the word teaches us about who will receive eternal life.
I gave a number of verses that tell us specifically how one obtains eternal life. And it's not by continuance in doing good.

If one receives eternal life by doing good, then salvation is by one's own efforts and behavior, which has been thoroughly refuted by the many verses I've already posted.

There is no mention of the work “perfect” in Romans 2:6-8.

You are making up things about God’s word that doesn’t exist, then building your own man made theology around what isn’t in God’s word.

Here is what is plainly said in Romans 2:6-8.

  • eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;

God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

Sanctification is the process by which we are being made holy.

Those who embrace this process, seek for honor.

Paul used this same word honor to describe those who cleanse themselves of all filthiness of flesh and spirit and have become vessels for honor fit for the Master’s use.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
2 Timothy 2:20-21

Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master,

Those Christian’s who live according to the flesh by practicing it’s works will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Romans 8:12-13

if you live according to the flesh you will die;
