Are these terms used as a metaphor to explain our mentality/hearts and not the year?
Since we've been in 'that age' for 2,000 years..

I believe the "end times" and "last days" are not literal days but rather the period of time we're in now. 2,000 years is a long time for us, but not for God.

Well lets try it this way??
Surely there are SDA's around here hiding for 'fear od the Jews'! ;)
Be that as it may be, surely they understand that Dan. 2's prophesy [ has ten toes!!] And this was prophesy! And that the next thing back THEN was the second coming of our Lord!

Dan. 2
[44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
[45] Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

OK: Next came on the scene Dan. 7 with a little more 'light'. Then we have John's things seen with the Rev. 13 seen BACKWARDS. And this is how close in time we are at!

We are living in the 'TOES' of time!

Everybody and everything has an end time and a last day, other than God who is eternal. What then are end times and last days intended to apply to? We find it easy to assume they always apply to us, to our understanding of our world, but this is a mistake. Much of the endtimeslastday scripture apply to the way of the world that existed prior to Christ's work, and that world has been and is being changed by His work ever since, though from this side of history we don't easily have the perspective to see it. The gospel is good news; our promised salvation, not the promise of an apocalypse.

AMEN

The "last days" in scripture refer to the last days of the "Jewish age" or the last days of "practiced Judiasm".

Lets first look at WHEN two of the Apostles of the Lamb said the "last days" were.

Heb.1:1-2 "God who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past to the fathers by the prophets, hath in THESE LAST DAYS spoken to US by the Son...."
(Apostle Paul says to the Hebrews said that those days "these days" (the first century) were the "last days"!

Acts 2:15-17 "But THIS IS THAT spoken by the prophet Joel, it shall come to pass in THE LAST DAYS...."
(Apostle Peter says that his days (the first century) were the "last days"......."this is that.....in the last days..."

We have 2 apostolic witnesses which place the "last days" in their first century generation!

Can anyone see this?

Sure, but it is best to qualify the term 'last days' so people don't assume it means something other than what you are trying to communicate.

Gen 49:1 ¶ And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you [that] which shall befall you in the last days.

don't you love it how the church went from bible depths of understanding to the shallowness of futurism in less then one century. that doesn't mean there are no expositors just that well futurism shouldn't be if we just take the words written for what they simply say!!!!!!!!!

Revelation 1:1
A revelation of Jesus Christ, that God gave to him, to shew to his servants what things it behoveth to come to pass quickly; and he did signify [it], having sent through his messenger to his servant John,

revelation of ....end times, the physical nation of Israel ? No

I agree, if we do a study on the visions of Ezekiel and also what moses saw on the mount with the visions of John and so forth. You will see the Lord jesus that is mentioned in revalation. hmm
